LYNX is very unreliable. I got the week long pass and have only been able to take 4 rides because buses run so rarely and are never on time. A number of times I waited over an hour and a half which means 3 buses failed to show up. The drivers are unable to help an out of towner find connections or they just don't care to. I had a driver who was rude in two languages to 4 tourists from Europe. Two drivers looked at me and didn't stop. The buses are clean maybe because they don't pick up a lot of riders.

They travel on a fixed route on Tavistock Lakes Blvd to two stops: outside the Pixon building by Lake Nona Town Center and the Laurate Park Village Center (near Canvas restaurant). The plan is to eventually increase the number of shuttles and routes. The self driving electric shuttles navigate by using sensors and GPS to adjust to traffic conditions. There are attendants on each bus and they can take over the manual operation of the shuttle at any time. The attendant was using a tablet like screen and a video game controller. The air conditioned shuttles are currently free to ride during the initial launch period and carry up to 10 people. The shuttle travels at a maximum of 15 miles per hour right now but may go faster in the future. You must sit, buckle your seatbelt and hold onto a railing inside the shuttle. Be prepared that the shuttle does make hard stops if it senses something in the way. The shuttles currently operate from 10am-2pm and 6pm-10pm but these hours may change in the future. The shuttle arrives at the stops every 10-15 minutes. You can do a 20 minute round-trip by just telling the attendant.

Not withstanding the scheduling issues I am giving them a four star for effort in other areas. As we all know some of us aren't always the model of citizenry. We sometimes tend to defecate in the same place we take our meal and wonder why is it so smelly around. In this regard the operatives (drivers, in this case there were three rotations), did their best to clean up and provided garbage bags for trash. The trip was well pasted and safe. There were ample rest stops, about every two hours or so, and somewhat reasonable accommodations for the lack of individual phone charging stations. Drivers were friendly and accommodating despite the obvious language differences. All in all this appears to be a real good alternative to the absurdity and what seems to be the increasing ridiculousness of air travel- if you have the time and patience.
