What a wonderful spot to stay only 10 minutes from Savannah. My little one loved the goats and…read morehorses and running around the property. They have a small store in the office building with typical camping goods and a few local treats for sale. Staff was friendly and helpful and always said hello and asked if we needed anything when they walked by our campsite. We came in after the sun went down and staff helped us find our camp spot. There is a small fitness center which is a bonus! The bathrooms were clean but dated with squashy floors. We would stay here again if in the area!

Honestly, you might want to avoid it at all times due to the relentless noise. Between the train tracks running right through the property at all hours, heavy traffic buzzing from nearby roads, and military planes and helicopters rattling the sky all day from your neighboring military airbase, peace and quiet simply do not exist here. Another reviewer suggested using earplugs, but trust me: nothing is going to save your sanity when a full-blown freight train blares its horn at 3 a.m. every morning! We booked way in advance online for a week-long plus stay, only to be placed in a spot with absolutely zero shade. When we asked to move, the head staff, Leslie's favorite catchphrase was "just call us next time." Good to know & thanks so much for this lovely help, Leslie! To cool down, you can always hike an eighth of a mile to their very nice pool. Just be prepared for the "gravel gauntlet" (similar to your site, by the way)--navigating loose rocks in flip-flops while carrying pool gear in the heat isn't much fun. Ultimately, we've stayed in cheaper, friendlier, and much more accommodating places. Unless you really love the blazing sun, constant noise and unhelpful office manager, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

We recently checked into the Biltmore Gardens RV Park on our way to another destination. We pulled…read moreinto the lot and were looking for a place to check in, and went to the Antique Store. We didn't know they were related. A gentleman behind the desk was taking care of a couple ahead of us as we were patiently waiting. Suddenly a woman comes in from the back room, asks our name and said, "You shouldn't keep the 4 dogs in the car this long". I responded that we didn't think we would be waiting so long, and she proceeded to check us in. Again and again and again we were told to clean up after our dogs, even though we told the woman the first time that we would. In fact our dogs are diapered at this very minute. We checked in. The RV neighbors are mostly long timers there and not friendly to us. We didn't have any altercation with any of them, but they are not friendly at all. Ok, we don't care, we're only here for 2 nights. While looking for a place to put my stake, with leads for the dogs, my husband had a problem with the power. At that time I noticed that there were paper cups and latex gloves strewn about by prior tenants. The man came near me and reminded me to cleanup after the dogs and I told him, who is going to clean up after your last tenant? He began to grumble and pick the stuff up, saying he didn't see this when he mowed the lawn. Whatever, I didn't care. Our largest dog did her duty and I went to clean up after her. I put the excrement in the bag and hung the bag tightly on an outside hook. I planned on taking care of it tomorrow, but didn't want to bring it into the trailer. My husband and I discussed how intrusive they were, peaking into our SUV, rather than attending to their desk. We have one big dog, and three tiny ones, about 5 lbs. each. Dogs are listed as permitted per Good Sam, and we would have no reason not to disclose the truth, if asked. I said to my husband that this feels like an episode of Criminal Minds, but not as bad (yet). We slept last night, but I had a feeling someone was outside. Ok, sounds paranoid, right? My husband was going to take the trash in the morning, I went to the hook to give him the poop, it was gone. We went into Savannah the next day for a couple of hours and came back to things untouched. We will be leaving in the morning for our next destination. This is not a bad destination we had electric, water and sewage dumping. We would have internet if we were a member of Comcast, and used it during the hours of operation that coincided with the antique shop. There is a sort of main road on one side of us, but we were in the back and the noise wasn't too bad. However there is a railroad behind us, which is not too active, but you hear the toot-toot of the train every so often. There is no pool, no gardens or bathrooms/showers. It is not a terrible place to stay, but I don't think I will be back.

Our big breed didn't have much gallop space in the K9, but front to back, this campground is huge and woodsy, so it was at least a great dog walking spot. The swans this campground is known for were indeed present as well as herons, geese, and a few birds we don't typically see at home. As the signs also posted there was a lake alligator, our first outside a zoo, but it kept a good distance from the lakeshore. The map even shows a bird sanctuary, and at twilight bats were doing their part. Disney was our ultimate destination but this was an excellent landing spot, to and from. It was also worth the extra night so we could poke around Savannah and Fort Pulaski (jumping fish on our memorable mini-trip). The store was well-stocked with cold drinks for all ages, souvenirs and tourist info, and some RV sundries (Food Lion just past I-95 had the rest). The Savannah trolley even pulled into the koa one morning. I've been to a few KOAs, and assure you this is the best laundry of all KOA campgrounds. In my limited experience Dayton and Moab are close, but here we had affordable, updated laundry space here with laundromat driers and trolleys. The best pool? No, but close! It was a pleasant space with good depths and plenty of furniture, and was a shame to leave. Don't forget your swimsuit. The bathhouses are updated, cute, and clean. The staff were friendly in the park and in store. This koa had everything we needed. We'd happily come back.

It was a beautiful site, right on the lovely lake where we could watch the swans gracefully swim by, There is a bird sanctuary that is part of the lake. We were amazed by all the flying birds at night. We sat outside, lit a fire and barbecued dinner. Normally we are always in a rush, but this time we decided to stay for two nights. The shopping is great and we went to Kroger's and Publix, instead of eating out at a restaurant. Pooler is a large city near by and we were able to get Freckles a jacket at Pet Smart. Dave also bought some things at Home Depot. We had a delightful two nights before heading to South Carolina and heavy traffic. We love the staff here and really feel welcomed when we return.
