Let me just start with saying that you will never leave Shell Lumber thinking they were rude or…read moredismissive. Shell Lumber is the perfect local business. All their staff is friendly and helpful but also knowledgeable. Which unfortunately is rare in other home improvement stores. They have most everything you'll need and if they don't have it will help you find it. They have the best selection of wood around and on top of the complimentary popcorn while you shop they also have a food truck outside to make sure you dont leave hungry. It may be a dollar or two more than some other home improvement places around but you will leave much happier and that most times is worth the cost. So stop by and give Shell Lumber a try, you won't be disappointed.

My transaction with Shell Lumber & Hardware was easy and worked out great. I did not purchase any…read morelumber. I ordered some items for installation of my wood-burning stove that apparently were shipped via Fedex. My largest item was a Selkirk DSP6MA masonry adapter that was actually shipped separately from the other items. Shipping was very fast where both packages arrived the same day. I am aware of negative reviews that I estimate are likely unjustified. I also suspect that any negative reviews by others involving claims of damaged items were likely not due to mishandling on the part of Shell. I am very willing to order from Shell again. And, if I had a concern about mishandling of my items that might occur then I would contact and request Shell increase my shipping cost by going with a different carrier solely for my order. As it turns out, I see no reason to have such concern at this time.

When I got the keys they had seemingly forgotten to seal in the panes, leaving them literally loose and rattling around. They came back, and made a token gesture, including some foam. The result was a door that didn't slide properly, had a gap in two different areas that allowed both excessive noise and dirt from the road to come through at will. A year of trying to get them to come back out and sort the issue has gone ignored. They don't pick up my calls, or return my texts. I left it a few months and they must've accidentally picked up my call, said they'd send a tech, and a week passed and they had gone back underground. Bottom line, I called another company to fix their issue - almost $1500 - they came out to quote in 24 hours and had me on the schedule the next week. If I could give Advance Glass Contractors 0* I would. I was beyond patient and they simply could not care less to fix their awful job.

King Furniture Restoration's Carlos Ramírez is a true professional: knowledgeable, fair price…read morequoted, honest, responsible & extremely kind. The type of artisan carpenter that is difficult to find; but they do exist. His work was so exceptional that I voluntarily paid him more than his quoted price. Carlos Ramírez repaired an old Chippendale camel-back sofa whose solid hard woodbase had collapsed. I had purchased the antique sofa 40+ years ago at an auction in Miami. I wanted to save it. The work required was a combination of carpentry, upholstery & furniture restoration (removing & reinstalling all the springs). Carlos Ramírez responded to my email promptly. He was able to assess the work through a number of detailed photographs I sent (where I tried to explain what was wrong with the sofa.) Within 24 hours after submitting my request, we agreed to have the work done in my home. The work was completed as promised on time. I could tell from watching him work that he wanted to ensure I was pleased with the end result. I chose Carlos Ramírez based on the perfect 5.0 rating he has earned on Google. I now add yet another 5.0 rating. If you require ANY work having to do with furniture, especially valued pieces or even antiques, make sure you hire Carlos Ramírez. Trust me; he's that good.
