WOW!!! JUST WOW~!!! I came here for the open house and…read moretoured the facility. I think it's pretty safe to say it's a one of a kind (if not the only) non-profit organization / facility that allows you to drop off your child(ren) with special needs, for a day or two on the weekend to allow the parents some time of respite. Absolutely love their mission and the fact that they care specifically for an otherwise marginalized population. They have three "lodges" each with 10 rooms (half singles, half doubles), outdoor playground, pool, indoor gymnasium, chapel, a variety of rooms for computers, music, arts & crafts, sensory stimulation and quite rooms. And practically everything has a theme. It really does look like a kids' paradise...and hopefully it will be. You'll need to register on their website to utilize their services.

From the carefully thought-out interior decor to the doting, compassionate staff, Jill's House is one of the most tangible manifestations of love for a group of children often overlooked by the general public. Jill's House is an overnight respite home for special-needs children. For the kids, it's like a fun sleepover - there's a music room with musical instruments, sing-a-long DVDs, and space to dance, a technology room with touch-screen computers, an art room, a gym, an indoor pool, a playground, and nature-themed "pods" with more games, puzzles, toys, video games, and even a movie screen (tell me you didn't have to take a breath in between reading that list). For the hard-working parents (for whom I have such great respect and admiration), it's a chance for them to have a night to themselves. Furthermore, Jill's House is an incredibly safe place for these children. The intake coordinators are very detailed in recording each individual child's diet restrictions, medical concerns, and methods of communication. They also make sure to give the parents (and the child) a tour of the facility beforehand. The intake coordinators, then, propagate all of this information to the staff who work directly with the children. Now, the staff are a group of people who are not only efficient caretakers, but are also genuinely loving people. It's apparent that the children quickly form bonds with the staff and recognize them when they return. It's heartwarming to witness. I could go on and on, but (as another review has pointed out) it might be easier to just visit the website or call. Ultimately, this facility houses an amazing group of workers and a precious group of kids.

This relatively new Agency is owned and operated by well experienced Health Care Professionals who…read moreemploy only experienced well qualified CNA's for home care and only equally well qualified professionals for other levels of care, PT, OT, ST, LPN, RN, etc. They provide care coordination and active care management as part of the service provided. The owners personally evaluate the patient's needs and recommend, provide or facilitate approaches to meet those needs. I have an elderly non-ambulatory Alzheimer's patient care need. Zamzam and Murana Janneh evaluated the situation and provided two very well qualified, experienced and reliable home health aides for a 10/7/365 situation. A physical therapist was brought in to provide needed attention to muscular lack of use and range of motion issues. These 3 people have had a tremendous positive impact in the few weeks they have been of service. Ongoing interaction with the primary care physician (PCP) and interfacing with other medical providers is a continuing function. The owners are actively involved in assuring quality care on a continuing basis. I am extremely pleased with the range and quality of services received. I highly recommend Awareness Home Healthcare for individuals or families needing home care services.

DO NOT rely on this agency for quality care or consistent coverage for someone you love. My only…read moreregret is not writing this review sooner to warn families but it has taken about a month to recover. We hired them earlier this year and went through 3 caregivers in 3 months, finally deciding to terminate the agency after the last caregiver quit their agency because they weren't giving her enough hours (which they tried to pin on us). They have a major employee retention problem and I do not believe they properly vet their employees before hiring them (i.e. no background check, in-person meetings or calling references before they send them to clients' homes). We dealt with significant difficulties, including: (1) inexperienced and unprofessional caregivers; (2) caregivers showing up late for shifts or not showing up for shifts at all; (3) unprofessional administrative staff who are terrible communicators -- one would call both caregivers and clients multiple times in a day without leaving voice-mails and when I decided to terminate after citing problems with their agency he sent me a response that he thought their agency was "perfect"; and (4) the agency's inability to find coverage for shifts or replacement caregivers when there's an issue.

I contacted a number of home care agencies for my father's home care. We settled on Nurse next Door…read moreNorthern Virginia. The person that cared for my father was kind, caring, competent and professional. We couldn't have asked for better.
