I dont think they are aware this is against state labor laws. I chose Options for Senior America because they have experience coordinating with the Veterans Administration (my father was eligible for VA assistance), because they require their caregivers to be fully boosted against COVID 19, and because their pricing is competitive. I give Virel Patel, the manager for their McLean office, the highest marks. He coordinated directly with the Veterans Administration contact I gave him and set things up perfectly. Virel is extremely professional and attentive. He responds promptly and thoroughly including on weekends. Mostly importantly, he provided 2 excellent care givers. Not only were they competent, they also were compassionate and caring. They bonded with my father and I felt very comfortable leaving him in their care. I highly recommend that you consider the McLean office of Options for Senior America when choosing an in-home health care service.

They are recommending procedures and equipment that help my recovery. Most of all, each is very careful to ensure that I do not move out of my bed without their help--to avoid further injury. Moreover, their capability in helping me up or down or to balance without the use of the injured leg is so reliable and reassuring. Moreover, the Nurse who made the arrangements for me was so helpful and thorough--with a lot of medical knowledge and made every effort to arrange for almost immediate caregiving. Her professional advice was valuable and she was very supportive at a difficult time after my injury.

Each one that we had took an interest, understood the assignment, and worked with concern for the patient's well being. Moreover, they provided an excellent caregiver to work 12 hour shifts just days after I contacted the firm. I felt more comfortable with them than with any of the larger agencies I contacted which seemed to try to sell themselves based upon size and scope, not individual service and needs.

I appreciate that both staff wore n95 masks upon request. Hector PA was kind and patient. Seemed thoughtful in over the phone quick intake while driving and while with me. Unfortunately I had a negative experience with the tech that I won't name here. While she was friendly/kind, I found her parts of the exam to be rough. I told her I have low blood pressure and she pumped the cuff up very high. I told her it was painful. That roughness and pain made me nervous when she said she would do the flu/covid swab (instead of me swabbing myself) bc I was worried she would be too rough. Indeed, she used two swabs at once and a lot of force. My right nostril is hurting and I smelled a bit of blood after she was done. I've been swabbed a lot the last few years and it was never this rough or painful. I'd suggest she go slower and gentler with the nasal swabs --and maybe even one at a time. She could accidentally hurt someone with her current technique. I'm still in pain as I write this so hopefully there's no lasting damage. I also had a pretty frustrating experience on the phone with support. The confirmation page says you should be able to adjust arrival window from the link in a confirmation text. I could not. When I called to do that, it took over 15 minutes and multiple attempts for the person helping me to correctly understand that I was asking to end my availability 2 hours earlier. I was a bit surprised the provider didn't want to draw basic labs given my symptoms and complex health conditions.

I especially like that I didn't have to drive somewhere while I wasn't feeling well or have to sit in my car or waiting room as I waited to be seen. I did my own thing until the doorbell rang, and got right back to it as soon as Jesse left. I will definitely use this service again and recommend it to my friends. It was recommended to me by my general practitioner's office. Helped with my initial confidence.

WOW!!! JUST WOW~!!! I came here for the open house and…read moretoured the facility. I think it's pretty safe to say it's a one of a kind (if not the only) non-profit organization / facility that allows you to drop off your child(ren) with special needs, for a day or two on the weekend to allow the parents some time of respite. Absolutely love their mission and the fact that they care specifically for an otherwise marginalized population. They have three "lodges" each with 10 rooms (half singles, half doubles), outdoor playground, pool, indoor gymnasium, chapel, a variety of rooms for computers, music, arts & crafts, sensory stimulation and quite rooms. And practically everything has a theme. It really does look like a kids' paradise...and hopefully it will be. You'll need to register on their website to utilize their services.

Unconditional love…read more As cheesy as it may sound, this place oozes unconditional love for children with special needs. From the carefully thought-out interior decor to the doting, compassionate staff, Jill's House is one of the most tangible manifestations of love for a group of children often overlooked by the general public. Jill's House is an overnight respite home for special-needs children. For the kids, it's like a fun sleepover - there's a music room with musical instruments, sing-a-long DVDs, and space to dance, a technology room with touch-screen computers, an art room, a gym, an indoor pool, a playground, and nature-themed "pods" with more games, puzzles, toys, video games, and even a movie screen (tell me you didn't have to take a breath in between reading that list). For the hard-working parents (for whom I have such great respect and admiration), it's a chance for them to have a night to themselves. Furthermore, Jill's House is an incredibly safe place for these children. The intake coordinators are very detailed in recording each individual child's diet restrictions, medical concerns, and methods of communication. They also make sure to give the parents (and the child) a tour of the facility beforehand. The intake coordinators, then, propagate all of this information to the staff who work directly with the children. Now, the staff are a group of people who are not only efficient caretakers, but are also genuinely loving people. It's apparent that the children quickly form bonds with the staff and recognize them when they return. It's heartwarming to witness. I could go on and on, but (as another review has pointed out) it might be easier to just visit the website or call. Ultimately, this facility houses an amazing group of workers and a precious group of kids.

I was literally appalled at the sales techniques of this company. I completed a form to get more…read moreinformation and Denise literally called me nine times in a 24 hours period. She left me three voice messages while I was at my bank, then she started sending me text messages and emails. I called her this morning to give her some information about what I am in need of for my mother-in-law. I told her that I had a company come out yesterday and another is going out tomorrow to assess the living situation and make a recommendation. Both of these companies were open and very willing to help me on Saturday. Denise at homecare.com basically told me that if I already had two other companies coming, I didn't need a third company. She tried to tell me that they don't need to make an assessment, they will just start sending someone immediately at a rate of $21.50/hour. Denise wouldn't even let me tell her what the needs are for my mother-in-law. She wouldn't listen as I tried to tell her I want to make sure the person is a "good fit" for my mother-in-law, someone she is comfortable with and feels good about having in her home with her for 3-5 hours each day. Denise didn't want to hear any of it. She just told me when we are ready to have someone come out and start working to call her back. She is going to send me more information via email, but I don't even want it! I tried calling the 800 number listed on their website to place a complaint and no matter what options I choose, I get Denise or an answering machine. I also tried to locate reviews for this company and I can't find any. So.... I'm leaving one here to warn people not to waste their time calling this place or filling out their online forms. Very unprofessional with ZERO compassion. Denise is in the wrong field as seniors require empathy and compassion.
