First time of the good points; Great water pressure. The…read morelady that takes care of the breakfast area was on top of things and ran a tight ship. Now for the bad. There was a sleeper sofa in the room, that reeked of urine. I'm not sure if it was coming from the mattress section or the cushions on the couch or what, but it was pretty much nothing that we would sit on. Speaking of not sitting on it, there was dust on the armrests like they don't have vacuum attachments or something. Cobwebs on power cords and curtains. Mildew or mold in the shower between the tiles. See pictures. Water would leak from the shower, under the wall, soaking the carpet 3 ft. Into the carpeting by the side of the bed. To the point where my girlfriend's shoelaces were wet in the morning. Luckily she didn't have a bag on the floor.. Very loud creaky ceiling. I think most hotels use concrete floors but this one has wooden floors and between the footsteps and the creaking, it was hard to get to sleep. Could also easily hear voices from upstairs. While we were down at the pool, our key became demagnetized for some reason, and when my girlfriend went to the desk to get it reprogrammed, the lady, Darlene , gave her the third degree about asking for ID and everything which of course was in the room that we couldn't get into. And then finally reprogrammed the key but like it was a chore and she was doing us a favor. Handicap spots are on the side of the building but you have to wheel around to the main entrance because there's no cutout in the sidewalk to get up to the side entrance. Breakfast. I knew it was posted on the wall and they offered things like pancakes and bacon or omelets and bacon. But Saturdays and Sundays it's the exact same menu. Scrambled eggs and sausage links. You would think they would split that up. Mix it up for weekend travelers. Will not stay there again.

Love the body wash that was there. Bathroom was very clean compared to last time Breakfast was okay, wish you all can include turkey bacon, or turkey sausage, always remember not everyone eats pork. Thank you. Enjoyed the pool, no one was there at the time I went for a swim, which was great. Overall I'll definitely consider staying again.

When I ran the bath, weird pieces of something came out of the faucet. FD could not find a 'do not disturb' sign for my door. So housekeeping knocked at 9 to come in. Coffee at breakfast very cold (and no decaf). Heating system in room doesn't work well. But for the price I guess it's worth it.

My visit was mostly good. The location was immediately off…read morethe highway exit and within 40 minutes of my destination of Letchworth State Park. The staff at the front desk was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean, the bed comfy, the shower hot. The room had a fridge and microwave and still has individual containers of shampoo and conditioner. There was an ice machine and soda machine by the office, though the credit card machine was not working so I had to get change at the front desk. The TV remote was absent and there were no extras at the front desk so no tv for me. Entrances to rooms are interior. I was on the second floor with an outside door to the building near my end if the building. Someone had propped open that door late at night and I closed it. A complimentary breakfast continental style is included. I would have rated 4 stars except for billing. I prepaid with Expedia and the online checkin process was great, providing a pic of driver's license, color, make of car, all things to speed up the checkin process and it did. HOWEVER, next day I was charged not only thru Expedia, but by Days Inn. Not cool at all. I called the hotel. They directed me to their 800 customer service number. First call to them and I was disconnected. Not cool at all. Next call they told me I needed to call Expedia. WTH? Not cool at all. So, I called Expedia. They indicated a refund was made and would take up to 5 days. Still not cool at all. Last time I ever pre-pay for a hotel. Period.

The bed was comfortable and the pillows are plentiful. The location cannot be beat. We had dinner and drinks at the Blue Pointe Grille the night we arrived. I was a little hesitant to eat at the hotel restaurant. I was bracing to be disappointed. Service was on point and cocktails were well made. Food was delicious. We had a high top in the bar right near a window for a nice view of the lake. Highly recommend.

It's rare that I'm dazzled by a hotel or feel that it's worth the money (they're all stupid…read moreexpensive these days), but Harbor Hotel was a wonderful experience I'd recommend to anyone. Don't get me wrong, it's expensive. But for once I felt like I'd gotten my money's worth! Everything everywhere was meticulously clean and well-kept. Our room was spacious and bright, with a private balcony and chairs, a couch and coffee table, and a full table that allowed us to take comfortable advantage of the room service breakfast. Potpourri sachets in the closet, free water bottles in the lobby, free coffee stations on each floor, and chocolates every night on the pillows--details, people! We also enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub, and of course the gorgeous patio and firepits overlooking the lake which was 80% of the reason we booked here. All of the staff we encountered, from the front desk to the housekeepers, were very friendly. I did think it was a little strange that the fitness center was in a whole different building and you have to walk across the parking lot to get to it, but hey--you get your steps in. The hotel is also very centrally located. On the water, of course, but next door to Seneca Harbor Station from which you can book lake cruises. It's also less than a mile from the entrance to Watkins Glen State Park and hiking trails and only a 5-10 minute walk from most restaurants. We did most things on foot. When you do get back in the car, there are multiple wineries within a 15-minute drive. The only problem the whole visit was the hotel internet, which was terrible every day. You could make do in the daytime, but at night, when everyone was back in their rooms after the day out exploring, it was slow to the point of unusable, and I ended up turning on my data hotspot to even be able to check my email. I would not suggest bringing time-sensitive work with you, and you should not expect to be able to stream videos on your devices. Just disconnect, you'll be less frustrated. There is an onsite restaurant and bar, and while it's nothing mind-blowing, it is a nice option to have (and is one of the few "higher end" type places in Watkins Glen). Menu includes a few of the standard local wines, which was nice!

Both are well connected to the local food and wine scene and they introduced us to a couple of the vineyards that are within a ten-minute drive of the Inn and pointed us to an amazing restaurant in Hammondsport--again a short drive from the Inn. Although we didn't have enough time to get there, the Inn is also right next door to a brewery and distillery. Our weather was less than ideal, but it didn't matter. We spent a couple of hours one afternoon hanging out in the historic cupola room with complimentary hot drinks and cookies. As history buffs, we were impressed that the Inn is on the National Registry of Historic Places and was also a stop on the Underground Railroad. It was a perfect environment for the family to catch up before another lovely meal in the Hammondsport area. The Inn offers a full and hearty breakfast each morning--enough food that you may want to skip lunch. They are also more than accommodating for each member of our family's varied dietary preferences; both the vegans and carnivores left the table fully satisfied. We will definitely return, and maybe on our next visit we can hit that brewery!

The house is super historic and on the Register of Historic Landmarks as well. Everything is beautiful both inside and out. Our room didn't have a TV or fridge, but there is a TV and small fridge in the common area on the second floor. There are plenty of books, games, and puzzles. We enjoyed the beautiful weather by spending a lot of time outside. There is plenty of seating both out back and out front. We really can't say enough great things about our stay, and hope to come back again one day.
