This is a very magical place. We pulled up and it is stunning in size, we were instantly intrigued. Walking in, it felt like something out of a book. Intricate tablescapes and decor everywhere, with amazing vintage pieces and beautiful furniture. I have been everywhere, and there is NOTHING like this. We spent our first 30 min there just walking around in awe. They are super dog friendly! Dogs allowed inside and all the employees seemed happy to have them there. Our dog had a wonderful time sniffing. I did a wine flight so that I could get a bit of everything. The tasting room is full of light and all the colorful vintage decor sparkles. No two inches look the same. The staff was so friendly, petting our dog and checking on us just the right amount. The wine was lovely. There was so much variety in the flight and each one was totally unique from things I have tried in the past. We spent hours here playing "I spy" with all the decor. Stopped here after seeing it off the freeway for years and we were pleasantly surprised to find how adorable it was! Little gift shop available, lots of seating choices, delicious wines, and even a tasty Pilsner. We ordered a panini to share and it was also very tasty! We loved it here. They have wine memberships available and if you order a flight, it's free with the purchase of a bottle. We drive by this winery frequently during the year to hike etc.. I wanted to actually try it out. Cool place! The owners clearly put a lot of effort into the place . We tried a flight of wine and they were ok but way overpriced in our opinion. We didn't understand why the price point was so high. They have good options and lots of goodies and gift options . I can't say enough about this wonderful tasting room and gift shop. All of my sensory buttons were hit to the highest level. Upon walking in under the enormous happy sun logo, outside I was mesmerized. By the way, the logo alone drew me in. The atmosphere of the inside of the old mill is warm and inviting. I love plants and antiques which are everywhere. There are several cute and well curated seating areas for large and small groups. I chose the area with the most plants and a large comfy mid century modern turquoise and green couch. My group was 4 we sat in this area comfortably. Only 2 of us had wine tastings the others had beer. What a nice surprise to have beer for the non wine drinkers. Our server was wonderful, kind and patient. The wine was delicious. The tasting consisted of 5 wines 2 whites (one of which was a welcome tasting of 2021 Pino Gris) and a 2021 Viognier and three reds 2016 Pinot Noir, 2019 Sangiovese, 2019 Malbec. We loved them all. As we sipped our wine we walked, shopped and took in the beautiful landscape of the outdoor seating area. This winery is the perfect place for a girls trip or date day. read more

Inside of the tasting room was unusual many different areas to sit, many couches/ sofas, chairs tables, the deco was unique. Probably could use some A/C or a fan to move the air, was a bit warm. Quenett at the Sunshine Mill. The Pinot Noir and the Sangiovese were both very good. Would have bought some had the server ever come back. I have been to a lot of wineries in my day. This is the worst service I have ever received at a winery. Never got our food nor any follow up service, absolutely nothing. What a rad build-out! It's like you're inside an old machine complete with belts of buffalo leather. It's the highest skyscraper in town and the perfect sign to seduce a driver for a few minutes from I-84. They have fondue! The grilled cheese was Swiss and goat. Had to collect a second one with my friends. We began the lunchtime tasting with the crisp Nirvana. And it was served by a girl wearing a t-shirt of the same band. It was meant to be. The Sangiovese was hidden from the list and was a welcome addition. The Malbec was a good cap to the tasting. It was perfect for finished the discs of dark chocolate. I've been sitting on this for a moment to not leave a hastily written review and gather my thoughts and to also not leave a review that was just out of frustration. The ambiance of the place is amazing and worth taking a look. Wine, food, service is lacking and customer service especially needs some help. We called ahead to see if lunch was available and ask if dogs were allowed we were told yes so we headed over. Upon arrival where to park was very unclear, cars just everywhere in what looked to be a employee parking lot with forklifts driving around the lot so we chose a spot and headed in, once we also found what we assumed was the entrance. Once inside we made our way to the front counter and proceded to mention we had called about launch. We were then told about the laundry list of items they were out of and then handed a menu. Not apparent if the place was self service or not we asked and then just a slight shoulder shrug from employee and ya u just order from us when you're ready. With this info we found a place to sit and looked over the menu remembering what the list of items were that were not available and chose a sandwich and charcuterie board. We also had a glass of wine and a water. One served the board was nicely presented and tasted wonderful we were then told there was no bacon for the sandwich and the board was all they had to offer. Ok we said and proceed to enjoy our snack. I then went to ask for my water and was told there was a container over there for self service of water I said I see that however I need a glass to put some in. She then scolded another employee in front of me huffed and puffed and got me a glass. We finished our boar and I went out to pay, bussing our dishes as a nice gesture to the employees. Upon returning to our table I noticed my husband had not finished his wine. I asked why he said there were fruit flies in the wine. He started to head out and I took the wine glass up to the service counter waiting to say something until the employee finished with another customer pouring a glass of wine. I did not want to say anything about the fly to loud in case this was a fluke incident with just us. Once the lady had her glass of wine and walked away I proceeded to tell the employee that there was a fruit fly in the wine glass and that why he didn't finish it. Well you should have put a napkin over it she said it's that time of year!! I looked at her as to say really and she finally go the point and said I'm sorry what she should have said in the first place. So at this point as we were walking out I said loudly to my husband oh the employees response was you should have put a napkin over it so fruit flies don't get in your wine glass. We then proceed to the exit. Now come on all I was looking for was a little customer service and some kindness from the employee nothing more. read more

This was a stop on our Valentine's Day tour of Gorge Wineries, and this one had by far the best customer service. Great conversation about the wines and other local things! The serving host told us about a great new state park campground nearby - Cottonwood Canyon - that we hadn't visited before. The wines were good and we couldn't resist buying a couple. They do weddings apparently but the tasting room was still open for a lunchtime tipple. We tried all the reds ( zin and barbera were the faves) and a few whites. Chardonnay was pleasing but not outstanding. The dining room for wedding events looked well put together but short ceilings and all the pillars--very...heavy. I am so excited to have been able to stop in and what looks like one of the coolest wine tasting places in the state of Oregon. Easy to get in and out of, plenty of parking, way cool reuse of a building, appetizers and snack, shuffle board table, wedding space, bocce ball, cool grounds to sit and sip!
