After being told I could only schedule one day in advance due to a "newly enforced" no-show policy, I sat in the waiting area for my Uber and overheard the receptionist booking another patient for Thursday. When I confronted her and asked why that patient got to book ahead, she finally admitted how the new scheduling really works. ​Here is exactly what they are doing at their Monterey and Salinas locations: ​ Erasing Scheduled Care: They abruptly deleted already-booked future appointments for established patients with any past missed days. ​ Retroactive Punishment: They are using this new policy to penalize you for past misses, even though they never enforced the rule back then. ​ Blatant Double Standards: Penalized patients must call the day before and just hope they get squeezed in. Meanwhile, a flood of new patients from a closed-down clinic (and those with perfect past attendance) are getting top priority and advance scheduling. ​ No Room for Emergencies: A fair warning to those new or "perfect attendance" patients: if you miss just one appointment, you will instantly fall into this same restrictive system. You better hope you never get genuinely sick or have a real emergency! ​It is incredibly unprofessional to retroactively change the rules, secretly cancel people's future appointments, and lie to your face just to make room for new patients. ​ Look elsewhere if you want equal, reliable, and respectful care! ‍

He also thinks that he knows more than other doctors, which also is a red flag. Most good doctors collaborate with other MD's in their field when they have a hard case, Dr. Li does not. He also has a MD working there currently that is prescribing pain meds even though he has been disciplined by the medical board for over prescribing opiates on multiple occasions. The confirmation email I received listed only the appointment time, address, and parking information -- it contained no mention of any consultation fee. On the day of the visit I was charged $750. When I questioned the amount, I was told that was the correct fee based on our prior conversation. I left the experience feeling the consultation fee had not been clearly or accurately disclosed in advance. The office itself also raised concerns. There was no secretary or front-desk staff, and the space is shared with a beauty salon, chiropractic office, and other services. All communication was handled directly by the doctor. The lack of transparent pricing has left me with no choice but to file a claim in small claims court to resolve the matter.

Found Dr. Keyme who was able to see me same day that evening. Dr. Keyme was very professional and very caring, helping me address my lower back issues as well as show me exercises I can do at home or in the office to strengthen my back muscles. He even followed up a couple days later to check on my status which was pretty nice. I would recommend Dr. Keyme to anyone who like me spends way too much time in an office chair and has issues with back pain.
