Dr. Tom is a gift to humanity and every doctor should aspire to be like him. He's a rare person…read morewho is doing exactly what he's meant to do on this earth. After 5 years of snowballing symptoms - hormonal issues, severe fatigue, digestive issues, and rashes - I was referred to him by another doctor. I've experienced more healing in the 4 months I've seen him than I have in the last 5 years. I'm more energized, my digestion is excellent, my hormonal and skin issues are halved. I'm feeling more like myself. And the best thing is that Dr. Tom didn't put me on a bunch of prescriptions to heal. So much of our health is spiritual (aka "stress") - this has been a profound and very impactful part of my healing so far. It's something that the American health system doesn't acknowledge, but that Dr. Tom understands. (He will treat you with the right medicines if you need, but he also treats emotional and spiritual unwellness, which is just as important.) I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Tom and am so excited to continue healing under his care.

We're normally mainstream medicine kind of patients (Kaiser). We were becoming dissatisfied with Kaiser's lack of innovation and leadership in the alternative medicines and Covid management. Dr. Tom was recommended by a friend. Through his direction on our diets and changes in lifestyle, we've been able to cease many daily medications. Allergy shots with enzyme additives improve the efficacy and have allowed the cessation of allergy & asthma medications. A vitamin, zinc & ivermectin regime has kept us healthy throughout the Covid outbreak, allowing substantial airline travel to continue. Thanks Dr. Tom for your innovative cutting edge health care.

After 10+ years of seeing Dr. Li, he is hands down best in our county…read more Dr. Li and his colleagues turned my life around and continue to do so, whether I need a tune up or an overhaul! Yes, some early kinks in the Capitola front office as a review has mentioned. New staff, Jasmine in particular -very patient, sets lovely, calming tone. They work with me, my schedule and insurance easily. Dr. Audry Payne - professional, compassionate, innovative and encouraging! Ingrid Chegari - a miracle worker who truly cares and will put you together again no matter what! Did I mention Dr. Li? Oh, OK - 5 stars for him, too. The action figure dressed in black behind the curtain. Magic! Good luck to anyone trying to find a better pain management practice here. With the DEA tying doctors' hands at every turn, we're fortunate to have Dr. Li and staff so close. They're cutting-edge and remain enthusiastic about the business of pain management.

I waited a long time to be referred to and to get an appointment with Prime Pain Medicine…read moreInstitute. As others have said, Dr. Li has absolutely no bedside manner and appears to have no interest in his patients. I think he was in the room with me for 5 minutes. He asked a couple questions, which I had already answered on the intake forms. I tried to volunteer information about my multiple forms of pain. He displayed no interest and quickly stated that he couldn't help me without knowing anything about my case or reviewing any of my records. I'm on blood thinners, so he decided (again without knowing anything about my case) that he couldn't do "injections" because of the blood thinners. That's one of the first questions on their forms. I submitted information to them in advance, so I really didn't understand why they even let me come in for an appointment in the first place. He asked me if my doctors knew I was on two blood thinners. Yeah, they know, they prescribed them. He said he had never heard of that. Really? Has he never encountered a Cardiac Patient before? My Stanford Cardiologist put me on a second blood thinner, so I'm pretty sure she knew what she was doing. He told his staff to refer me back to my PCP for a recommendation for Physical Therapy or Hydro Therapy or possible Acupuncture. I don't think any of those things are going to help. It just seemed like his dismissive technique before he quickly left the room. The entire experience made me feel weird and I was in more pain leaving than I was when I got there. I was under the impression that by going there, that they would try to figure out what is causing all of my pain and maybe come up with some solutions. Apparently that's NOT what happens there. The staff is unprofessional, but sadly I've gotten a little used to that in Santa Cruz County. I overheard some patients talking to the staff and they didn't seem happy. I've worked in Hospitals in a professional capacity and worked face to face with with more than 900 physicians. In addition, I've also been receiving ongoing care from so may physicians that I've lost track. I've met some arrogant, pretentious and dismissive physicians during that time that also had no bedside manner and obviously didn't care about patients and Dr. Li ranks in the top 10 based on my experience with him yesterday. I hadn't read any Yelp reviews before my appointment and I wish I had. I recommend NEVER going there. Look for another place to treat your pain issues. I'm going to try and leave zero stars, but I doubt Yelp will let me do that. If you see one star on this review, it's really a zero.
