I was in two car accidents 16' & 21' The one in 21' ruined me! I was in so much agony and pain. I couldn't sit for more than 5 minutes without pain, my sciatica nerve was so inflamed and I could barely move. I tried so many places in San Jose that couldn't get rid of my pain. My husband was tired of seeing me in pain so he did some real research! Thats when he found Dr. John Falkenroth! I started seeing Dr John maybe the end of 2021 or beginning of 2022. I was driving from san jose to his office for treatment! I was going about two times a month if possible, then it went from once a month, down to once every few months! I still get inflamed once in a while, but Dr John relieves me of pain when I go do an adjustment. The decompression treatment really helped me !! His wife & himself are so sweet and understanding. They worked with me when I needed last minute appointments. I love to relax in the hydro- massage bed, one of my favorite parts :) I really appreciate his treatment and work. Lifesaver to be honest. I just wish he was closer to me, and he was open Fridays :') That would be amazing. Give it a try if you find yourself with back pain & Sciatica. ** FSA approved for myself, along with a superbill reqiurements. read more

Gentle yet effective. My favorite chiropractor of all time. I have herniated disks in my lower back and the methods and tools used in this treatment insure that I am not damaged. No folding or pretzeling to crack hips and lower back. Good if you have mobility issues. It's difficult but I am able to trust and relax so my neck can be adjusted. I was in a car accident back in November 2016. I was in SO much pain that I wouldn't let anyone touch me. I was having sleepless nights, missing work, and never missed a dose of my pain medication. Doctor Falkenroth worked with me, LISTENED to me, better yet he's so good he knew when I was in pain when I was trying to hide it. I wasn't ever afraid to ask him questions and he ALWAYS answered them. Now I am hardly in any pain. I would totally recommend him, as I already have to several. He is truly wonderful! read more

This Doctor Is a hidden GEM in Santa Cruz County! I've been to over 25 Drs over my 4 years time due to a difficult injury I had. Just like many other patient sufferers, I was told, "I'll Never get better"..and have to live with 4 burst discs plus left leg sciatica (Radiculopathy) of my leg and facet joint syndrome etc. for the rest of my life. WRONG=discs grow back if given the room necessary between vertebrae's in your spine. I knew there had to be an answer that worked at the Root of my problem, instead of meds and epidural bandaids! I had "essentially Compression of the spine and started researching everywhere for answers on how to receive "Decompression" and here he was My Dr. Falkenroth that specializes in decompression! I figured, what is there to lose at this point, go and see him. I started with a free comprehensive visit, asked all kinds of questions (did my homework prior) and Yes he passed all the tests and then some. He put me on a regiment and in 7-8 sessions I was walking again!! And had much less Pain since the injury..WoW! It's a miracle! And it kept getting better! What's nice is there's no fake contract, nor packages to buy..and they cover Medicare which is great. He's extremely caring about his patients, not pushy nor the sales money hungry type (you know what I'm talking about), and very knowledgeable. My background by the way is in medicine, this guy definitely knows his stuff-no doubt! **If you're looking for a Dr you can trust and tell you like it is, look no more! He's also a perfectionist and spends more than ample time with his patients. Bottom line, he has a gift and gave me my life back! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart Dr. Falkenroth for giving me hope and my life back! Ps) their website is; www.RepairMyBack.com for detailed info. And Yes, by the way Fran (his assistant, etc.) who runs the show is Great too! read more

Have been going to see Dr. Falkenroth for several years now and he is always extremely professional, his offices are clean and well kept. The computerized equipment he uses to measure muscular resistance and pinpoint areas of constriction with precise adjustments. I do wish he had Friday hours at least occasionally as I seem to need to get in there later in the week and the lack of options on Friday is limiting. read more

I have been seeing Dr Falkenroth for almost 6 years, and I only have great things to say about him, and his office staff (Fran!). I love that they are willing to squeeze you in on short notice, but the main thing I love about this DC (aside from his very dry sense of humor and quick wit), is this: I have seen chiros over the years, where it seems as if the treatment will never end. Twice a week, for eternity. This is not the case with Dr F. I am a chef, and I only come in when I'm in crisis, ie, my back or neck is sore. I am usually completely tuned up (aka healed) within 2-3 visits. He finds the problem, and treats the problem. I seriously buy three visits at a time, and almost always only use 2 before I am feeling better. I find him to be honest, to have integrity, and to truly be a master at his craft. Grateful to be treated by him. read more

Here are the things I really like about Dr. Falkenroth: It's easy to get an appointment when I need one The doctor is friendly and makes the appointment pleasant The receptionist is great and knows me and my kids by name when we arrive The office is clean and parking is easy But, of course, the most important reason I keep going back is because he has magic hands! He zones in on the spot(s) that is/are causing the problems and then fixes them. The machine thing he uses works well, but the manual adjustments are awesome...it's like immediate relief. And, I really like that I'm not rushed through the appointment. I really trust the doctor with my back and neck, and have often brought my kids, husband and even my mom to him to help after injuries. read more

I suffered from back injury with resulting L4, L5 bulging disk, sciatica and stenosis. When I moved to Santa Cruz, I continued Chiropractic treatment with Dr Falkenroth ( I has had good results with Dr English in Santa Barbara) and I continued to have good, beneficial results. I also relied upon ice packs and Aleeve to relieve pain, and an excellent, especially helpful book "8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back" by Esther Gokhale. I finally sold my "inverse table" and completely avoided the recommended back surgery. Dr Falkenroth played an essential role in my recovery and if the need should arrive I have would have no hesitation in going back for more treatments. read more

Best chiropractor around. I don't use one on a regular basis but when I need one I call Dr. Falkenroth's office and he is always willing to get me in, usually within a matter of an hour of me calling. Just the same if I have an appointment and can't make it or don't need to I call and cancel with no fee even if it's the same day. He has numerous techniques that he uses as well as different therapy device. The Aqua Message bed is incredible! I strongly recommend anyone to give him a try no matter how much or little you are in pain. read more

I have been suffering with lower back pain for many long years, but it started getting a lot worse about a year and a half ago. Walking, especially uphill or climbing stairs, was extremely painful. I had various cortisone injections and saw multiple doctors, but nothing seemed to help... until I went to Dr. Falkenroth. He is very gentle and highly professional, and I have experienced a noticeable reduction in pain. It's great that he accepts Medicare, too! read more

I have been going to Dr F for now about 3 years. He has a simple method that works on me. He has computerized equipment and a table that moves to help adjust your back and a chair that he can use to do physical adjustments if you want. In the waiting room there is 2 chairs that message your body, if you want to use them and after each treatment you can have a aqua message if you want! I would highly recommend that, use the ear plugs/headphones! Now I go for tune-ups and just good care for myself...I am glad I found him! Susan G read more

One more satisfied patient for Dr. Falkenroth. No hard sell of "series" or extra products. Fran runs the office very efficiently. I never "believed" in chiropractor claims but after 18 month of sciatica I had tried everything else. I have definitely experienced much improvement. read more

OMG I love this place! Not only are they SO supportive of a working mother's schedule, they are so friendly and it works! I had horrible sciatica for months. I was so miserable trying to make appointments after work and working around the schedule of picking up my kids from daycare and preschool. Total nightmare but this place gave me a little bit of love for an hour and they are so easy to schedule with. They will even take a walk in appointment. I tried all of these awful physical therapists that couldn't care less if my schedule changed or my kid was sick and I couldn't make an appointment. 2 weeks here and I was cured. No more sciatica. Sometimes it springs up but just one or 2 appointments with Dr Falkenroth and I'm all good for months. read more

I've been seeing Dr. John for over 15 years. He has taken great care of me and I would probably not be still working cleaning carpets without his thoughtful, compassionate and skillful knowledge. A very good chiropractor! read more

I've got to admit that I've always been somewhat skeptical of alternative methods to control pain, in my case, hip pain and neck pain. I had pain in my neck and shoulder and tingling down my arm and had a difficult time walking up the flight of stairs to the office. Dr. John examined me and set up a treatment plan for my specific problems. By the end of my treatment plan, the pain in my neck has completely disappeared and although I still have pain in my hip I can now climb those stairs easily. The staff is very friendly and professional and anytime I need an appointment, Dr. John will accommodate me. I can't let this review go without mentioning the waiting room. Two big massage chairs and an ongoing video of beautiful beaches from around the world playing on the big screen. Very relaxing! read more

Ok...so I have had sciatica for about 7 years. The pain is not crazy bad, however I must sit down for a few minutes to 'reset' it for a while. I am not crazy about surgury, and I have had several chiripractors try to 'fix' me without success. I saw an add in the Sentinel for spinal decompression treatments. I decided to check out Dr. Falkenroth and made an appointment for my free consultation. I saw the doctor on February 24th (2015). We talked about my lower back issues, and he poked around a bit, asking if certain spots hurt and also twisting me a bit ans he had me lie down and poked around a bit more. I also wanted to see his equipment, which looked very new, modern and state of the art. I made a couple of appointments for treatment for the following week, and went home. I arrived home and my back was very sore when I got out of my car. I could not stand up straight for several minutes, and it hurt inside and also to the touch. I was kind of aggravated, as I felt so much worse after visting the doctor. The pain gradually subsided, however my lower back felt quite different than usual. The next day, my back was still sore, however I noticed that my sciatica was gone! Today is March the 5th, 2015 and the sciatica is still gone! I visited the doctor early this week and thanked him and insisted that I pay for my free consultation...I am so happy to be rid of my issues and totally recommend Dr. Falkenroth to anyone! read more

Extremely helpful and friendly staff. John is great and has state of the art equipment.

What a relief! I have painful degenerative disc disease which is greatly improved with Dr. Falkenroth's treatments. He is an experienced and skilled Palmer Method practitioner with a calm and gentle manner. He and his receptionist, Fran, are always available to "fit you in". And if you must rush in on a busy day you will find a nice snack waiting for you. They handle all "paperwork" efficiently. There is easy parking and comfortable massage chairs if you have a brief wait. A great resource for our community. Shari Kahl read more

John is a really good Chiropractor who, unlike other Chiropractors I've known, doesn't try to get you to come back again and again. It's easy to schedule an appointment and the massage chairs in the waiting room are a pleasure. Don't expect a New-Agey" Chiro; John is honest, straightforward and effective, and he never tries to sell you supplements or equipment. Dealing with him is a pleasure. read more

I went to see Dr. Falkenroth to discuss spinal decompression on his DRX9000. I have a badly herniated (extruded 2cm) L5S1 disc. I appreciated the free consultation, and he was attentive and I liked the feel of the office. However, after I told him that I had been suffering sciatica and severe lower back pain for months and was using pain medication regularly, he proceeded to push down with both hands directly over my injured disc area. I screamed out in pain. This was apparently part of his evaluation, and he said it told him that the nerve was "quite inflamed." I received no treatment that day. I felt the painful effects of this traumatic "inspection" for many days after, and decided not to proceed with Dr. Falkenroth. To be fair, I was still unsure of whether I wanted spinal decompression therapy at all (my doctor had advised against it). I recently (1 month later) saw a highly regarded chiropractor in the Los Angeles area, and he assured me that his evaluation and hands-on treatment would involve nothing that irritated my inflamed nerves or the surrounding areas. This chiropractor also used a cheaper, simpler machine for decompression that he said did a better job (money invested in the computer chip and design, not a marketing campaign). I am not here to disparage the use of the DRX 9000 (though I urge people to read up on that machine and some of the marketing strategies associated with it). I am simply here to note that I walked out of Dr. Falkenroth's office in a lot more pain than when I entered. I had to write, because the last year of my life has been spent desperately trying to subdue the pain caused by my injury, so this is not the same as being sore after an intense massage or chiropractic session. I felt mishandled, and I don't know why he couldn't simply believe me when I said I was in lots of pain that necessitated pain medication. It felt unprofessional, or perhaps simply something done out of a lack of experience. read more
