Let me start off by saying there are a ton of places to go in the Santa Cruz area to get PT, Massage, and Chiropractic work done, and I have been to a TON, but this place exceeds them all!! After having a baby, braking my tail bone, finding out I had mild scoliosis (that which NOT one Dr. in the past had caught), major back problems and a few other deep tissue issues, I found myself in major need of treatment. My husband had been going to Spine and Sport for a while and was trying to convince me to try it out and I was biased because of all my experience in the past! But THIS place has seriously saved me. Dr. Dylan has been the best Chiropractor I have ever seen. He not only adjusts, but he cares deeply about how you are feeling and gets to the bottom of it! He does deep tissue work as well as shows you different ways to work out and stretches to help with the areas you are in pain with. He is willing to see you as much as needed and has a lot of flexibility with his schedule making it easy for you to come when needed! I honestly went from being a grumpy super in pain (on a scale of 1-10 ... A 9) so in just 5 weeks feeling almost 100% better. I HIGHLY recommend seeing him! He is a genius with the body!!! Also the front desk girls are so kind, personable, and friendly! They are super cute and professional! When I arrived the receptionist was very friendly and I hoped the doc would be just as nice. Not only did he spend quality time with me. A co-worker referred me to Dr. Murray over a year ago when I was suffering from an extremely intense shooting pain in my upper back. I chose to see him because of his attention to smaller/ supporting muscle groups, as opposed to major adjustments with no love to adjoining areas. Long story short, he healed me with 5 treatments! To be honest, I am skeptic of chiropractic clinics in general, so I can certainly say that I walked into the office with hesitation. I have personally gone to three other local chiropractors in Santa Cruz County, the others have either be pushers of more visits every time where you feel guilty leaving without re-scheduling six visits or back crackers without general health knowledge. Each chiropractor obviously different, as they should be, and they all have their pluses and minuses. My experience in this office without hesitation is the only one worthy of a great review, and that I can recommend even above 3 stars. I could not have been more impressed with Dylan's professionalism and knowledge of the issues I had at this time. I've been dealing with a nerve issue in my lower back down my leg (not sciatica). Dylan diagnosed it, treated it, and has left me feeling spry and healthy again within a very reasonable amount of time. I had scheduled doctor's appointments for x-rays and physical therapy, and have been able to cancel them all. Dylan is a solid dude with a great grasp on how to take care of your body. Dr. Murray is an excellent chiropractor and a great guy. After checking out other chiropractors in the area, he had the best technique and healing approach by far that I've seen. His adjustments are very precise, really hitting the right spot! And he spends a lot of time doing soft tissue work as well, which is key, since muscle memory will pull the vertebrae back out of alignment and so should be addressed (most chiropractors don't do that or do that very minimally, or recommend you also see a massage therapist). He's still young so he puts a lot of physical effort into the body work he does, really breaking up that ol' scar tissue and kinks! He's also a real joy and takes good care of his patients. I am a 55 year old male who has had infrequent yet ongoing problems with sciatica and visits to chiropractors, since my early teens. I have a lot of experience with chiropractors, mostly good, but also a few hacks. I also have a fair amount of experience with bodywork. In the past year, my age, a much longer commute and a new job with sometimes ridiculous amounts of work hours and stress have really taken a toll on my back. I knew I needed a chiropractor and short term help. But I also was looking for a health partner that would help me come up with a plan to get through the next 10 years of work to retirement and beyond. On the day I contacted Jessica and came into see Dr. Murray for the first time, I was bent over in pain, and had great difficulty getting from the parking lot to the office door. It is rare that you encounter someone who is so obviously suited for what they do. Right away, I could see that Dr. Murray was meant to help people, using all of his considerable technical and interpersonal skills. Several months of work and progress have only reinforced this first impression. Dr. Murray is a good listener not only with his ears, but with his entire being. As opposed to many Doctors who give you 2 minutes and then dictate a course of action, Dr. Murray works with you, asking good questions, and continuously checks in with you as he begins and applies his many techniques. He is creative and willing to change gears if needed. He takes a holistic approach to problems, and is not limited to being a straight chiropractor. He educates you, and gives you things to do to help yourself. When he needs you to work through some pain or discomfort, he is more like a coach, encouraging you to push through. If a time comes that you cannot push through, he recognizes it and recalibrates, accepting that it is not to be at that time. Dr. Murray also takes a holistic approach to the causes involved in your problem. Not afraid to gently yet firmly remind you that although he can help you, you must also do your part to help yourself as well. Dr. Murray is available at hours outside of normal work schedules - something greatly appreciated. When something comes up, or is needed, a call to Jessica in the office always leads to a quick resolution. Dr. Murray and Jessica are two caring and supportive professionals that will give you their best, and assist you towards optimal health. Dr Dylan is not your run of the mill chiropractor. Come in, crack your back and send you on your way.....Nope that is not what you get here. He takes his time trying to help you with whatever problem you come in with and figures out what is truly causing you this pain or discomfort. I had foot surgery that had me in a cast then boot for 5 months. Lets just say that I was really messed up. Not to discount the multiple injuries from playing sports my whole life. Back and hips were so out of whack it hurt to work out, then couldn't do anything for days after. He helped break up all of the scar tissue from previous injuries that I have picked up over the years.
