Don't expect to fall asleep during this massage as there is a bit of tugging and pushing involved. While getting a 60min massage, the lady was answering the phone and she kept leaving me to go up front to help other customers walking in the front door! I've come here twice while passing through town. The body massages are good, very professional and unlike some other places, they speak enough English that there's no confusion in what you're asking for, what you're paying for and what directions they're trying to give during the massage. My only reason for not giving all 5 stars, I've had well over 100 foot massages and this one fell short in comparison to other places. Generally (not always) your feet soak and you receive a facial/scalp massage while they soak - even if you get a combination massage where time is split between body and feet. This combination massage was done completely on the table, no soaking, no facial massage, and very little pressure applied to the feet during the massage. This may just be the way they do combo massages. The foot only may be done in a more typical manor, I've never had one done here. read more

Not the best but not the worst. The masseuse has some odd massage techniques that made it difficult to relax. Her technique was abrasive and the best way to describe it is that it felt like I was a carrot or potato being skinned. It wasn't smooth and firm, it was short and choppy. Last complaint is that the warm towel used to wipe off oil wasn't warm, just a wet cold abrasive towel. Not a fan. read more

I used to love this place!! Would go at least twice a month for the last 6 years and they have gone down hill fast and charged $10 more. They refuse to start the reflexology massage with your head, no pressure points, ears, or rubbing your temples. Instead they start on your arms and Skip your head completely. It's terrible and not the way to start off a good reflexology massage. They used to have reflexology massage technicians that added their special touch to the normal routine that made it amazing, But not no more those people left. I am so sad and disappointed in this place now because it's 10 minutes from where I live. $40 for a reflexology massage plus a tip is very expensive for what you get. I bought my mother a $100 gift card this Christmas... They will not honor gift her card even though the reason my mother could not go until now was because of Covid. And they were CLOSED for months because of COVID and she couldn't go. We will not be going back and I will not refer my friends and family. I dropped my kids at the theater across the way and had some time to kill so I decided it was best spent here. I've been to this location once before about three years ago and enjoyed it then. I called about 7:15 PM and they fit me right in. I got the 60-minute foot reflexology massage ($40+tip). The fully-clothed "foot massage" also includes arms, neck, and back. I didn't catch my therapist's name but she was very good. A gentle touch but not too soft. Of course, they are always responsive if you tell them you want more or less pressure. I'm pretty sure my massage went the full 60 minutes or more. I always plan on tipping 20-25%. You may get attitude if you try to be (what they consider) cheap as some others have mentioned, but since I don't do that, I can't speak from experience. Anyway, I highly recommend this establishment. It's clean, the rooms are semi private, and it was nice and quiet. I always recommend wearing summer clothing, such as shorts and a tank top, but at the very least, pants that pull up to the knees and shirts that are loose enough to reach into the neck and upper back. They are pretty careful, but it's not impossible to get massage oil on your clothes so don't wear silk, etc. read more

This used to be a great place 5 years ago and I'm beyond disappointed in the poor quality of service now offered for a high price. The people don't seem trained and minimally go through the motions not caring to be any good at it. They refuse to massage face or head which is how all reflexology massages begin. I feel very lucky to have this place within a 10 minute drive. I have been here twice now, both with last minute notice, and both times the experience has been wonderful. I have only got the 30 min massage both times, so I can't speak for their foot massage or reflexology. They make great use of their time and really focus on the entire back, even using hot stones. I appreciate that they also use a warm towel at the end so you don't leave still lathered in oil. I walked in without an appt. around 10:15 a.m. and was led to a semi private room. There are only about 4 chairs out there, like I mentioned, not big. The lady was very nice and did a good job. Not the best I have tried but it was good enough to relax my muscles (if I have any...Ha). After the massage, they offered me a bottle of water, which is awesome to me. I believe that one needs to drink warm water after reflexiology massage, it helps to cleanse out the detox, so I appreciated the drink a lot. They also offer a reward card, by having 10 massages, you will receive 30 min free on your 11th massage. They have 2 different kinds of foot massage, I picked the one with back massage. They also have 30 min. Foot massage only for $20, which I think is great for people in the office for a quick break. Will I go back? Most likely if I am in the neighborhood. read more

This is the best massage in town, it also happens to be quite a deal. Get the stone massage if you have no issues with being naked (covered with towel) otherwise go with the foot massage. I've never been able to do a walk in appointment here, so plan accordingly. The only downside for me at least is the massage chair is too high when I'm getting a foot massage. I'm 5'4" and recommend asking for a stool under the soaking tub to avoid lower back strain. read more

It was a fully clothed body massage with a detailed foot massage. WOW!! Lots of deep tissue and stress points hit and lots of tension released. I had no idea you could pay $30 for a full hour of such quality... The only thing close to negative I would say is I have bad hips and lower back. So while she was massaging my shoulders, head and neck, I was lying on my back on the table with my feet hanging over the edge of the table soaking in the water bucket. my hips and back did not like that and I did start to hurt. Maybe a pillow or rolled towel under the knees or lower back to help support. :) Now that I know what to expect, next time I will be prepared! Yes, definitely a next time to come!! The work here has always been good. I've spent thousands here over the past couple years. Prices have gone up considerably and now are much higher than other places with licensed therapists. What really got me was I left a 10.00 tip and was informed I needed to leave more that it wasn't going to be enough. I work in the service industry so I know how it is a very few tip well, some tip a little and unfortunately a lot tip NOTHING! That's how it goes you don't have to leave anything for a tip and sadly most these businesses are taking advantage of employees who deserve more, but never have I told one of my customers they HAVE to tip me or even be so BRAZEN as to say you must tip me more so I WONT BE GOING BACK. read more

I think the receptionist is new because she thought I couldn't get the full body since I'm 26 weeks pregnant, but the masseuse seemed very well practiced in the prenatal version. My usual massage therapist was not open on Monday so I found this place. This place far exceeded my expectations! Don't let the outside fool you! When you walk in it's clean and professional! They were very busy but still managed to see me! They guy that did my massage was very nice and was a master at Chinese massage! How do I know this? I've received several massages all throughout Idaho and California from high end spas and his massage technique was impressive! So this place is more of the pressure point deep massages not the soft Swedish massage. He was very skilled in hitting all the right pressure points all along my entire body. He basically got rid of all of the knots in my upper back!! Don't let the stigma of 'Asian massage' places deter you from trying this place out. Absolutely disappointed in Sunshine Massage Spa. We have been going to this establishment since they opened. After making an appointment, we went in today to have a massage and foot spa. We were told one of our gift certificates had expired 13 days earlier and they would not honor the one gift certificate. Obviously they changed their gift certificates from past certificates that never had a expiration date on them. They would not worked with us and that's fine......NO MORE APPOINTMENTS at this place for us! There are plenty of other spas around the Boise/Meridian area that value customer service, appreciate well established customers and have competitive prices. So if you have a gift certificate, please read the fine print and do not waste your hard earned money, use them before they expire.
