This was my first visit, and I was fortunate enough to be paired with Irena. After a 600-mile day of driving and feeling generally uncomfortable with a side of pain in my meat suit. Her bodywork was excellent, but what impressed me most was how attuned she was. She quickly found the areas that needed attention and adapted seamlessly to my disability and the complexities that come with it. I felt understood without having to over-explain anything. We also had wonderful conversation, including some niche shared interests, which made the experience feel both relaxing and genuinely enjoyable. I'm just passing through, but I'm in the area several times a year, and I'll absolutely be booking with Irena whenever I'm back. read more

My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience at whole being massage! We went to get a couples massage and the whole atmosphere was very calming and relaxing. We had Stephanie and Lindsey help us and they were both very in tune for hearing our needs and accommodating based on the pressure that we wanted. The experience was very relaxing. Both of them gave us the deep tissue massage that we wanted. The level of care was exceptional, and it definitely makes us want to come back for another couples massage. It was extra special with the little treat of a couple chocolate balls, roses, and a thank you card for servicing us. Very impressed with the massages as well as the business! read more

Whole Being Massage - So relaxing and gave a special treat for Valentine's Day - Massage Therapy Near Me - Boise, Idaho

I scheduled an hour lymphatic massage with Antonia. I also added an add on service. I arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment. I sat in the waiting area, and was taken back exactly at my appointment time, 2pm. We discussed what I was looking for from this massage and got started. When she finished the massage I asked "was my add on service done as well?" She seemed confused. She checked her phone and said she didn't see it on my form beforehand but it was there! Also, I was shortened to a 30 minute massage instead of an hour. She said she got sidetracked and didn't notice I had an hour booked. The room was light so I had to squeeze my eyes. The front door was right next to room so I heard people talking. Overall, not a good experience. Then, she asks me if I'd like to come back in 2 weeks.. Um, no way. Not very professional. She told me she has ADD and the lit up room made her side tracked. I drove 38 minutes to be shortened and they try to offer me a $20 off of my next visit which won't happen. Massages are supposed to be relaxing and the therapists need to be prepared more. read more

For Christmas my boyfriend got us a couples massage here. We both were huge fans! Gwen worked on me, and Jason worked on my boyfriend. I love how many different modalities of massage they use here! Cupping, Sarga, lymph drainage, deep tissue, etc. Gwen specializes in Sarga, which I haven't tried yet, but am eager to soon. For my massage, I requested a deeper pressure and to focus on my upper body/back. My goodness, it was wonderful! It's almost like all the little knots in my back told Gwen where they were hiding. You know when you get a massage and you wish you could turn around and point to the exact spot(s) that are bugging you? Gwen knew where each one was. It was amazing. I left the massage completely relaxed and feeling wonderful! (My boyfriend also really enjoyed his massage with Jason! He has a lot of tension in his mid-back and felt a great release by the end of the appt.) Aside from their massage services, I loved the space. They have a sauna room, which is a fun addition to an already relaxing experience. And their office is calm, beautiful, and inviting. I would say their prices are more in the moderate range, but it is absolutely worth it because you know you are going to get exceptional service here. 10/10 recommend. read more

Elyssa gave me the best massage of my life and I've had a lot. She got to muscles no other massage therapist ever did. I was so tense and tight and she helped me feel safe and relaxed and really listened to what I needed. Everyone in the office were super nice and set me up great for the whole experience. I will be going back regularly for sure! Thank you! read more

My first experience was sheer relaxation and warmth walking in those doors. Gwen and Jason are so very talented! Gwen and her unique Sarga massage is an experience that rivals any massage that I have ever had. I am no amateur when it comes to massage techniques. This is the best money I have ever spent on a massage. You really just have to experience it. Jason has such a unique approach to massage. I am a musician and have unique tensions and muscle issues in my arms from hours and hours of playing every week. He is amazing at his approach to knowing just what I need, why I am tense in untraditional areas and how to work on my posture and improve my playing. If you are a musician, this guy is for you! Thank you guys for opening my yes to the diversity you two bring together! I am so grateful to have found you read more

I live in Washington and traveled to Boise for a wrestling tournament. My son was tight and sore so, I decided to look around to get him a massage. I found Whole Being Massage and booked it. I spoke with Gwendolyn, I asked her to give my son a deep tissue massage, and she agreed. However, after speaking with my son and hearing what he had planned for the week, she let us know that a light massage and stretching session would be better. She was right. He loved it and couldn't stop talking about how great she was. My son did great at the tourney, lol. I scheduled one with her too. Honestly, it was one of the best I've ever had. If you live in Boise and are looking for a massage, you will not be disappointed if you choose Whole Being Massage!! Thank you Gwendolyn, you're awesome! read more

First off, ohhhh wow. I don't even know where to start. Well, I personally have been accumulating a lot of stress with some major changes in my personal life, and I never really had a very good method to handle or attempt to reduce it. On top of that, my job is very physically demanding and I noticed it taking a toll on my well being, mostly my lower back. All this was getting a little out of control, so a friend from work recommended the idea of a massage therapist to help alleviate the stress as well as physical tension in my sciatic area and lumbar spine. Then I met Marisa and HOLY SMOKES. This girl knows how to set the vibe. I felt relief just being in her presence, and it only amplified from the moment she understood my needs and set the ambiance of the room so perfectly. Talk about being educated, professional, caring, and so very accommodating! It's no wonder she is in this profession, I could tell how passionate she was with everything and she truly went out of her way to understand exactly what I needed, provide it, and overall exceed my expectations. Every other masseuse I ever meet now has such an incredibly high standard to meet after having the blessing of Marisa to do such amazing work for me as she has. 11/10....Would more than just recommend! read more

A new mom like me needs body work in a serious way. Gwen has helped me so much in the last year with different methods, including Sarga (massaging my body with her feet from above) which I LOVE. Her work has me ease tension, manage anxiety, process trauma, and recover from pregnancy-related back funk. Her hands are magical and healing. Her space is peaceful and easy to get to. I recommend Gwen everyone I know, especially new parents who could almost always use a nudge in the direction of a truly magnificent massage. read more

I went to Gwen at Whole Being Massage for the first time and enjoyed the massage so much, I had to write a review. I've been too many masseuses over there years, too many to count and most are good, a few are not great and then there a select few who you want to go to every time. Gwen falls into that category. First, the check in process is quick and on-line before you arrive and when I did arrive, Gwen was right on time. Nice, clean room where everything was ready to go. Within a few minutes I was on the table and she was starting the massage. Good deep pressure with a focus on getting to the places that need it. She did a full body massage on me this time and really did a nice job working her way around my body. It was relaxing and therapeutic. Many massage therapists will take some time at the start to have you fill out forms, then talk to you and before you know it you have had an almost 45 minute massage instead of an hour. Not Gwen. I was impressed that she spent a full hour on the massage. Throughout the process she was a great communicator and really couldn't have done much better, in my opinion. If you are looking for a first class massage either for yourself or as a gift, don't hesitate to book with Gwen at Whole Being Massage. read more

I decided to give myself a birthday treat, and selected this place because I could add a sauna experience along with my massage. What a treat! This place is so calm and peaceful... you enter into a quiet door, and the place is spotlessly clean. You are escorted to a calm room with a comfortable couch, towels, and a robe. There's water and tea for you to enjoy. The sauna is just delightful! You can set the temperature to your liking, and it's a great place to sit with your feet on bare wood to begin to decompress and center before a lovely massage. After the sauna, I was escorted into a quiet and dark room filled with soft Tibetan bowl chimes. Jason provided aromatherapy and customized the massage to the needs of my body and my choice to relax and experience a day of rest and unwinding. After the massage, Jason took the time to discuss with me how my body reacted, and areas he noticed that I should be attentive to in order to further release stress or to stretch after soaking/exercise. I feel that my entire body and mind were considered and treated during my time here. Jason was quite attentive and listened carefully to my goals and objectives in order to provide the best experience possible. I left feeling looser and relaxed, and the entire experience was luxury from start to finish. 10/10 will come back! read more

I have found my regular massage therapist in Boise, thank goodness! It's been a few months of me trying and trying and trying only to leave disappointed from many tables all over town. I had heard great things about Gwen, and I'm so glad to have found her. I have a pretty wild history in tightness and whiplash in my body over the past few years, and I felt like melted butter on the table the whole time. I slept deeply and soundly last night and am already counting down to the next one. I can't really explain her style and I can't tell you if what she performed on my body even has a name, but I booked a repeat of whatever it was in four weeks' time. Her touch was intuitive enough to know exactly what to focus on for the entirety of the session. She also has a very calming demeanor, which I appreciated because I really like to feel safe while working with my massage therapist. I booked for a longer and surely blissful massage for next time. THANK YOU. read more

One morning I woke up unable to move my head off of my pillow. I had pushed myself to the limit. I have had trouble with my neck and back for over 20 years. But this time, I'd pushed myself to the point of unbearable pain. Luckily, I found Gwen. I called her in desperation and she made herself available as quickly as she could. That was just over a year ago. The rest is history. I now see Gwen at least twice a month and more if I can manage it! Gwen isn't just an amazing massage therapist. She truly cares about the whole body and person. Before she begins her massage, she breathes in a deep breath for you and you can feel your body's tension slipping away with her exhale. Her touch is strong yet gentle. She helps to alleviate your pain in ways I've not experienced in my 20+ years of chiropractic and massage therapy visits. Gwen is tiny. But don't let that fool you. Her hands are equal parts strength and magic. She is firm and unrelenting on those tight tension areas. Yet she does this with a gentle touch. Confusing? Truly! But I don't care how she manages to do it. It works. The best part about Gwen? She listens. She understands the anatomy and listens to it in a way I can only liken to being psychic. Without my saying a word, she manages to hone in on the parts of my body that need massaging the most. I'll never understand how she does that. I don't care. All I know for sure is that every single time she has completed massaging out my kinks and knots, I walk away lighter on my feet and with a huge smile on my face. read more

I saw Jason today for an ongoing work related injury, not only was he the first massage therapist to target the source of my pain, he also showed me steps for daily maintenance. It was a relaxing and very beneficial appointment and I look forward to my next session! The location is also one of my favorite buildings in the Hawthorne district with excellent mid century modern design. read more

Easily one of the best massages I've ever had! I had the signature therapeutic massage, the hot towels and hand/foot treatment were AMAZING. Gwen is super knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable immediately. I felt immediate relief from the back pain I had been experiencing. The entire experience was the perfect combination of deep pressure/muscle work and relaxation. I will definitely be back! read more

Gwen is the best ever. If we still lived in the same town I wouldn't miss her treatment so much. I was fortunate to receive massage therapy from Gwen for several years. I've tried a few other people, but nobody compares. Each session with Gwen is like entering a sanctuary where a journey of healing begins. Each session is unique and fabulous. read more

Gwen was fantastic. Wow. I've had my share of massages, and can undoubtedly say Gwen is at the top of her game. She is extremely well versed in various styles/techniques, which is an amazing tool to have on "hand" for whatever your body throws at her. Some LMTs phone it in with generalized strokes for all the folks. Gwen goes above and beyond. She finds the spots that brought you two her, and leaves you in a better way. Addressing issues is key when you go in for a massage. It's nice to know that specificity and intention is held in the highest regards at her office. So thankful I made my way in. Do yourself a solid and give your body the love and care it deserves. You'll leave a happier, better human. #fact read more

Gwen is GREAT! She really listens to the body, gives the body what it needs the most at the present moment. And those moments add up to a great healing experience for the whole being. Gwen uses different techniques for different issues: deep tissue, advance muscle reconditioning, lymphatic, etc. I have trouble with my back for a long time, andI had a lot of body work done. Now I see Gwen every week or every other week, and I really feel better. Thank you Gwen! read more

Gwen gave me a wonderful massage and I wanted to share my experience so others can find themselves in this little piece of heaven! Arriving at this blissful sanctuary was easy to locate, with clear parking for clients and the space having its own entrance made it welcoming. I was greeted by a warm smile and met with Gwen right away. Immediately I noticed how lovely it smelt and the waiting space was well done and clean. The actual massage room was done with attention to detail, having everything from the practical to heart warming artifacts that made the space feel so homey. Gwen was very professional in how she walked me through what would happen during our session and made me feel included. This was a new modality to me where she washes her feet and goes on top of the massage bed holding on to a secured silk to offer the most consistent pressure to release tension in the body. By doing this I saw she was able to access longer lines from my thigh to my feet with little effort, putting different amounts of pressure as she moved. Gwens touch was something vital I was missing in my body, as active as I am requires the same care to restore and adjust.  It was interesting to see how she incorporated the silk she used to balance herself in the massage techniques as well like putting it at the base of my skull for a nice stretch that reached my toes! She also incorporated the other senses like smell, with delicious arrangements of essential oils while encouraging deeper breathing. I appreciate her so much for being so attentive and generous with her time and I hope you get to experience this for yourself! read more

If you like massage like I do, then you know that some folks have "the hands" others don't. Gwen should insure her hands for mucho dinero. She's got a gift. Kind, attentive, patient, thorough - can't really say enough. Her space has ample parking, and the interior is quiet and charming. Nice music, too. Book ahead - I'm not her only fan by a long shot. read more
