I scheduled an hour lymphatic massage with Antonia. I also added an add on service. I arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment. I sat in the waiting area, and was taken back exactly at my appointment time, 2pm. We discussed what I was looking for from this massage and got started. When she finished the massage I asked "was my add on service done as well?" She seemed confused. She checked her phone and said she didn't see it on my form beforehand but it was there! Also, I was shortened to a 30 minute massage instead of an hour. She said she got sidetracked and didn't notice I had an hour booked. The room was light so I had to squeeze my eyes. The front door was right next to room so I heard people talking. Overall, not a good experience. Then, she asks me if I'd like to come back in 2 weeks.. Um, no way. Not very professional. She told me she has ADD and the lit up room made her side tracked. I drove 38 minutes to be shortened and they try to offer me a $20 off of my next visit which won't happen. For Christmas my boyfriend got us a couples massage here. We both were huge fans! Gwen worked on me, and Jason worked on my boyfriend. I love how many different modalities of massage they use here! Cupping, Sarga, lymph drainage, deep tissue, etc. Gwen specializes in Sarga, which I haven't tried yet, but am eager to soon. For my massage, I requested a deeper pressure and to focus on my upper body/back. My goodness, it was wonderful! It's almost like all the little knots in my back told Gwen where they were hiding. You know when you get a massage and you wish you could turn around and point to the exact spot(s) that are bugging you? Gwen knew where each one was. It was amazing. I left the massage completely relaxed and feeling wonderful! (My boyfriend also really enjoyed his massage with Jason! He has a lot of tension in his mid-back and felt a great release by the end of the appt.) Aside from their massage services, I loved the space. They have a sauna room, which is a fun addition to an already relaxing experience. And their office is calm, beautiful, and inviting. First off, ohhhh wow. I don't even know where to start. Well, I personally have been accumulating a lot of stress with some major changes in my personal life, and I never really had a very good method to handle or attempt to reduce it. On top of that, my job is very physically demanding and I noticed it taking a toll on my well being, mostly my lower back. I went to Gwen at Whole Being Massage for the first time and enjoyed the massage so much, I had to write a review. I've been too many masseuses over there years, too many to count and most are good, a few are not great and then there a select few who you want to go to every time. Gwen falls into that category. First, the check in process is quick and on-line before you arrive and when I did arrive, Gwen was right on time. Nice, clean room where everything was ready to go. Within a few minutes I was on the table and she was starting the massage. Good deep pressure with a focus on getting to the places that need it. She did a full body massage on me this time and really did a nice job working her way around my body. It was relaxing and therapeutic. Many massage therapists will take some time at the start to have you fill out forms, then talk to you and before you know it you have had an almost 45 minute massage instead of an hour. Not Gwen. I was impressed that she spent a full hour on the massage. Throughout the process she was a great communicator and really couldn't have done much better, in my opinion. I decided to give myself a birthday treat, and selected this place because I could add a sauna experience along with my massage. What a treat! This place is so calm and peaceful... you enter into a quiet door, and the place is spotlessly clean. You are escorted to a calm room with a comfortable couch, towels, and a robe. There's water and tea for you to enjoy. The sauna is just delightful! You can set the temperature to your liking, and it's a great place to sit with your feet on bare wood to begin to decompress and center before a lovely massage. After the sauna, I was escorted into a quiet and dark room filled with soft Tibetan bowl chimes. Jason provided aromatherapy and customized the massage to the needs of my body and my choice to relax and experience a day of rest and unwinding. After the massage, Jason took the time to discuss with me how my body reacted, and areas he noticed that I should be attentive to in order to further release stress or to stretch after soaking/exercise. I feel that my entire body and mind were considered and treated during my time here. Jason was quite attentive and listened carefully to my goals and objectives in order to provide the best experience possible. I have found my regular massage therapist in Boise, thank goodness! It's been a few months of me trying and trying and trying only to leave disappointed from many tables all over town. I had heard great things about Gwen, and I'm so glad to have found her. I have a pretty wild history in tightness and whiplash in my body over the past few years, and I felt like melted butter on the table the whole time. I slept deeply and soundly last night and am already counting down to the next one. One morning I woke up unable to move my head off of my pillow. I had pushed myself to the limit. I have had trouble with my neck and back for over 20 years. But this time, I'd pushed myself to the point of unbearable pain. Luckily, I found Gwen. I called her in desperation and she made herself available as quickly as she could. That was just over a year ago. The rest is history. I now see Gwen at least twice a month and more if I can manage it! Gwen isn't just an amazing massage therapist. She truly cares about the whole body and person. Before she begins her massage, she breathes in a deep breath for you and you can feel your body's tension slipping away with her exhale. Her touch is strong yet gentle. She helps to alleviate your pain in ways I've not experienced in my 20+ years of chiropractic and massage therapy visits. Gwen is tiny. But don't let that fool you. Her hands are equal parts strength and magic. She is firm and unrelenting on those tight tension areas. Yet she does this with a gentle touch. Confusing? Truly! Gwen gave me a wonderful massage and I wanted to share my experience so others can find themselves in this little piece of heaven! Arriving at this blissful sanctuary was easy to locate, with clear parking for clients and the space having its own entrance made it welcoming. I was greeted by a warm smile and met with Gwen right away. Immediately I noticed how lovely it smelt and the waiting space was well done and clean. The actual massage room was done with attention to detail, having everything from the practical to heart warming artifacts that made the space feel so homey. Gwen was very professional in how she walked me through what would happen during our session and made me feel included. This was a new modality to me where she washes her feet and goes on top of the massage bed holding on to a secured silk to offer the most consistent pressure to release tension in the body. By doing this I saw she was able to access longer lines from my thigh to my feet with little effort, putting different amounts of pressure as she moved. Gwens touch was something vital I was missing in my body, as active as I am requires the same care to restore and adjust.  It was interesting to see how she incorporated the silk she used to balance herself in the massage techniques as well like putting it at the base of my skull for a nice stretch that reached my toes! She also incorporated the other senses like smell, with delicious arrangements of essential oils while encouraging deeper breathing.
