I just want someone competent with strong hands. Here, that's what you get. I don't want to fill out paperwork before a message, that's work, that's stress, I'm getting a message to relax. Here I never had to touch pen to paper or type on a tablet. I don't want to be looked at with suspicion and be asked to justify my need for a message or explain why I am there. I'm there because I need a message and it says "message" on the sign out front. Here, no questions asked. Let the message begin. I don't want to pay exorbitant rates for a therapist with a PH.D in anatomy. I just need a good message at a fair price. Here, that's what's on the menu. That's the only thing on the menu and keeping things simple is part of what makes it relaxing. I suggest that the owners of the other message places in Lexington pay this place a visit, bring a notepad, and take some notes.

We arrive a little before 11 & the door is locked, no one appeared to be inside (though lamps were turned on), and my calls went straight to voicemail. We waited for around 10 minutes before we finally gave up. Thankfully we were able to find another spa to go to for massages, but I am still disappointed. I didn't think to get pictures of the store being closed, but I do have screenshots of the confirmed booking, my call log, and messages I sent to Red Rose's social media (still no replies). I don't know if there was possibly an emergency? However, there are several massage therapists at this location, so even if that were the case, I don't know why someone did not let us know. I am genuinely so disappointed. I do hope everything is okay & I don't want to hurt their business, but this was just so unprofessional. So if you do choose to go ahead & book-- be sure you call and physically confirm your appointment multiple times before you make the trip. I was a walk-in, and they had a room available right away. I went with the 60-minute "neck, back" massage, but it ended up just being a whole body massage (Not mad at all). You start off with a bare back with a towel draped over you. I asked the masseuse for lots of pressure, and she definitely delivered. It started with getting the blood flow going - basic kneading motions around the scalp, neck, shoulders, back areas. Eventually, she moved onto legs, arms, and gluts. Pressure stayed firm the entire time; she was one tough lady! At one point, she even sat on my legs and relieved all the knots, haha! Towards the end, it was more of a Swedish-style with some oil, which was wiped with an amazing hot towel. When I thought my hour was up (It felt waaaay more than that, which is a good thing!), she had me flip over for the last 10-minutes for my shoulder, neck, scalp massage. It was absolutely divine! The technique is much firmer (elbows, arms, hands all go into it), and maybe some people might find it slightly uncomfortable with the glut massage (?) (Used elbows and such); it's very professional though and loosens you up like a noodle! Overall, best massage I've received and it's very worth the price. Will return again soon! :)
