We'd been dreading having this replaced because we watched our neighbor have the same type door replaced and his contractor (not MS&G) had a really hard time of it. Not the case with MS&G. Be Cautious: Mother/Daughter Widow/Single, Siding replacement & Storm damage from Tree Fall…read more Left construction debris & nails in yard & driveway despite multiple requests to magnet sweep & clean their work area. 12ft pallets also left in the driveway. Poor communication & coordination between Evan's & skilled labor on site. Site supervisor was MIA for start of work. Homeowner had to modify work schedule to answer questions from skilled labor while Evan's site supervisor wasn't available & relay messages & site issues to Evan's.. Skilled laborers consistently expressed concern about materials not being available for tasks & left job unfinished. Work completed by site supervisor who didn't install per manufacturer's instructions & Evan's would not correct. They didn't abide by the contract which included & was quoted for replacement of broken wood from tree falling on roof in storm. Evan's repaired broken & splintered wood by either splicing or leaving broken pieces in place & nailing to 2x4s underneath. Structural, but not what was agreed upon in writing. Despite homeowner real-time feedback & suggestions daily during installation based on knowledge gained at an installation workshop hosted by the siding manufacturer AND the manufacturer corroborating the homeowner's feedback post installation after being invited to inspect by Evan's, Evan's STILL didn't correct all installation issues. They only repaired the most extreme issues, but the majority were left in place. They stated they'd been doing this for 30 years implying there was no way there was an issue & despite their policy stating to just call if there is an issue. If the siding manufacturer tells you there's an issue, I think it's an issue! Opinion: Obviously issues are not their concern from the way this job was mishandled & my concerns were disregarded from day one. Evan's removed back doorstep & didn't replace it. Original step still laying in the middle of the yard. Disconnected A/C unit without notice & left for the day, multiple instances. Rewired air conditioning unit incorrectly, throwing/sparking breakers. Broke internet fiber, required AT&T to repair. Despite all the above, payment was cashed within hours of receipt. Opinion: Apparently someone in the company prioritizes and has availability for what they need despite their claims to be customer-focused.

We hired David Messner with 1 Stop General Contracting to remodel our basement as well as a few…read moreother things in our home in December of 2022. We had some issues with him leaving some things un-done and our flooring and painting contractors having to finish these items for us. During the remodel we had him and his team replace an original 20 year old slider in the basement with a new one. By March we started having issues with water coming in through the top of the slider every time it rained. He did send one of his guys out to fix it and he said the flashing was not done correctly and he put a bunch of caulking in above the door. This was a temporary bandaid. For the next month and a half the problem got worse and worse with water going from dripping in to gushing in. We reached out several times to have him correct the issue since it had never leaked with the old slider and either received an argumentative reply that is was not his fault and must be our deck or a window or no response at all. He showed up today un-announced entering into our back yard and deck pulling on the siding prior to knocking on our door. He then proceeded to pull the siding off in anger while telling us that the leak was from the deck being built onto the siding. (Side note, we have had several other contractors and a home inspector come out and ensure that our deck was NOT built incorrectly and is indeed up to code. A call to the city inspector proved this as well.) He proceeded to call us Cheap Mother F*ers for "trying to go cheap on everything", cuss us out and storm off. We paid 1 Stop General Contracting $45,000 for a basement reno, a hall bath reno, and cutting out part of a wall in our kitchen. And that was WITHOUT having them do our flooring or painting as we already had other companies lined up for that. We currently have a contractor here fixing David's mistake as the flashing did not adhere correctly and he did not put ANY framing around the slider leaving an inch gap for water to enter in through. He put nails into NOTHING! We have documented all of these items and will be taking this further.

They hired someone to do interior paint that seriously damaged my historic house by unintentionally spraying paint meant for the walls on the ceiling, windows, sinks, and hardwood floors. I didn't realize this until several months after the fact. They also admitted to me that they charge renters for services they don't provide - like changing the furnace air filter every few months. Once they sign you as a client, it is hard to get a return email or phone call when you need to speak with them.

We had to hire someone else to replace it to get occupancy permit approved.6) Left tenant repair requests go unfulfilled until tenant moved out (Broken window in door left for months after tenant reported, found to be boarded up at move out instead of repaired). Other tenant's complaint that stove was broken went without response for MONTHS. Wasn't until we stepped in as owners that it got resolved.7) When questions were raised about completeness of work, instead of offering to make good, they responded with accusations of poor manners to avoid having to do the work they were paid for (Ad Hominem, Tone Policing: Tone policing is an attack that focuses on the manner in which someone makes an argument, rather than on the argument itself.)I would be understanding if they said, look we have problems. However, they denied and refused to take ownership of their own problems until we put the houses up for sale and the realtor's photos showed the work was not done.
