Enjoyed that they had a variety of not just paper, journals and pens but also locally sourced items like coffee, books and stickers. The shop was pretty crowded during my visit, probably a dozen people or so in the small space. This made me happy to see so many people shopping local. Eventually, after browsing most of the store, I decided to get a coffee bean pendant for my Traveler's Notebook. I've seen this same charm online for upwards of $20. Omoi's was $18. Definitely a value there! The service was excellent. While ringing me up one of the ladies running the register grabbed the Traveler's Notebook stamp (which you have to ask for) and let me do my thing. The stamp for the Traveler's Notebook is pretty cool, it features a soft pretzel and Water Ice.

Omoi was close to where we were coming to / heading to, so I bookmarked it and we managed to stop by before they closed. It was actually really poppin when we got there, despite the fact that it was about 30 minutes to closing time. I wasn't really on the market for anything, just wanted to browse. I ended up picking up some cute notepads for a friend and some washi tape for myself. I love that they sold matchbooks here! I am an avid matchbook collector, despite not smoking a day in my life. Staff were super nice and very friendly.

I received an email approving the donation and giving me a date and pickup window. I wasted an entire day waiting for their haulers who were a NO SHOW. Next day I was finally able to get a live person to speak with at Restore and was told they sent me an email (same day I was waiting for the hauler) stating that the table was too worn for donation. I then proceeded to pay a private hauler who had already hauled a few items for me to return to my home and pick up the table. DO NOT TRUST RESTORE for pick-up-they approve the donation BEFORE evaluating your items. This was a time consuming and costly mistake. I will NEVER deal with them again.

I've had nothing but great experiences purchasing thank you gifts for colleagues and holiday gifts for hard-to-shop for relatives like my Mom, as well as a handbag, tote, and bath rug for myself. As another reviewer said, the prices are amazing -- from $20 for a pair of earrings to $500+ for a designer chair -- Hello World sells home goods, furniture, knick-knacks, and accessories. The store staff is friendly and helpful. Tucked away behind the Penn bookstore, this is a great addition to the shopping options on our campus, University City, and West Philadelphia.

The tea towel I liked very much had no label and no price tag on it, apparently was the last one in stock. When I asked for two boxes for the cups I bought, he said the boxes were only meant for clothing, even though I saw perfect sizes for the cups behind him. What kind of customer service is this? Just because the store items are cute, no curtesies are given to the customers? Ridiculous. I will not be shopping there anymore.

In addition to furniture like cabinets, benches, chairs, and tables, one can find rugs, lights/lanterns, books, statues, busts, and other odds and ends. The space is quite large, and the selection varied. Kudos to the curator as one can spend quite a bit of time combing through all of the many treasures. Pieces can trend toward the more expensive side; however, deals are to be found, and while we were there, there was a 30% off sale. The staff are friendly, and my transaction is quick and efficient. While on site, I purchased several wine bottle snuggies that were styled after Chinese-style clothing. They were $3.50 each--a bargain. (Do they really sell those hideous masks to anyone with a real sense of style? Or to anyone at all??) I had the heebeejeebees walking around in there, and I'm not superstitious or flighty, but the place just had a very "heavy" feeling, like a weight was on my shoulders the whole time there. And don't get me started on the prices... overpriced, on purpose, IMHO, for those who think the higher the price, the more precious the item. The only thing precious is the first breath of fresh air you get when leaving this gaudily overdone made in china sham of a store.
