    My decorated phone case
    Latoya G.

If you're looking for a fun activity to do with the kids or just by yourself then you have to try Happy DIY. I took a trip to Philly not too long ago and decided to stop by Happy DIY to see what all they had to create. Happy DIY offers different crafts to decorate from phone cases and hairbrushes to picture frames and tote bags, just to name a few. But of course, the most popular is the phone case, which I opted to make during my visit. The young ladies walking around to assist you through the process were all really nice and helpful. Once you've selected your craft to decorate then you get to choose from a wall full of charms which was so hard to pick just a few. I loved all the choices but definitely got overwhelmed because I wanted them all. The young ladies then walk you through the process of decorating your items from start to finish and you're off to creating your own masterpiece. This experience at Happy DIY was such a great afternoon activity for an affordable price. And to have a one-of-a-kind phone case that I've received so many compliments on is pretty neat.

A really cool decoden spot with so many different charms, colors, and things to decorate. I did a new phone case! I feel like for $28 that's a great deal to craft something that I really like! The process is: You walk in a let them know how many people in your party. You them know what you'll be making. And for the phone case, they have you pick around 15 charms and two bags of the icing/gel stuff. You sit down and they show you some different ways to pipe the gel on. Once you have your final charm layout done, you put the gel stuff on the case and then stick the charms on! It was really fun and they make the process pretty easy. It was extremelyyyyy busy on the Saturday I went. I believe they take reservations in advance though! The staff was really helpful and efficient even though they were slammed and overall it was such a fun, cute thing to do with friends!

I was in Philly for the day with family and wanted to stop by here with my nephews for a fun experience with 'arts and crafts'. I had originally found this place when I was researching things to do with kids in the Philly area. Cons: -The lack of parking. My family and I parked by the Reading Terminal market and walked the few blocks over to Happy DIY. - The prices are astronomical. My nephews chose to design the door sign and it costs $48 each before taxes!! You do get unlimited amount of materials but i don't think the price is worth it. Pros: -The service was good. The staff of younger ladies were helpful with the explaining the process and hands on with guiding my young nephews on the piping of their door sign. - There was large assortment of cute charms and trinkets to customize your items with. The door sign came with unlimited amount of charms but i am not sure about the other items. It does add more to the cost if you choose multiple colors of the piping cream. Overall, i think this was a fun experience but due to the high prices; i would not return.

Hello DIY - Creative Fun with a Side of Chaos Hello DIY is definitely a cool concept if you're into customizing your own vibe, this place lets you design everything from phone cases to earbud cases, iPad covers, and more. Total craft-lover's dream! We designed our own phone cases, and it was super fun getting hands-on and seeing everyone's ideas come to life. So many cute materials and designs to play with! BUT... let's talk about the setup: The room was very overcrowded tables were packed, and it felt a little chaotic at times. Not much elbow room to create comfortably. The staff? Mixed bag. Some were helpful, but a few were lowkey rude, which kind of threw off the energy. I get it's busy, but a little kindness goes a long way, especially in a DIY space where people are trying to enjoy the process. Still, the concept is dope, and with a little more space and a friendlier vibe, it could be a 10/10 experience. For now, I'd call it a solid 6.5/10 creative and fun, but definitely needs a little polish on the hospitality side. Items range from $15 or more

Pro: clean environment, many charms. Con: no parking space, price. Was in Philly for a birthday weekend for a family member and someone who been here before suggested we come here. Upon entering you are surrounded with many charms, glitter, and decoration as far as the eye can see. There is no store parking lot so you have to park in the garage. The list of items you can choose from to decorate is expensive, with my choice of a dog bone collar being already 8 dollars. The staff don't explain the process much but only helping setting the tools for use. You pretty much figure things out on your own which is why the store name is DIY. All in all, had an ok experience here but nothing mind blowing or getting the bang for your buck.

SO many cute charms to choose from to decorate an item of your choosing. Owners very welcoming and explain the process. You then grab a tray, charms, an item to decorate and pick a color glue and piping tip. Was $15 for the air pod which was reasonable for the materials and fun activity for an afternoon solo or with friends. Discount if paid in cash Will be back!

Such a fun place with great value! I was visiting Philly and walking around and came across this new little crafts studio hidden away on a side street. We walked into a super cute crafting experience and was pleasantly surprised about how affordable it is. There are a few similar experiences in Boston which are easily 3-4x the price of Happy DIY. There are plenty of tables and we just walked in to do some crafts. The staff are super friendly and greeted us/explained how it worked as we walked in. Side note; I believe this place is family owned as well which is awesome (support local businesses!). I decorated an Airpod case here and I'm very happy how it turned out. Depending on the price of your item, you can choose 1-3 colors of decoden cream. Mine was under $15 so I chose one color. You can also choose an unlimited number of charms/glitter (as long as you can fit it on your item!). I had tons of fun here. This place is definitely going to blow up soon due to popularity -- so go and check it out!

So fun/unique of experience for my girls! Very patient staff and pretty choices for materials

Kpop music, rainbow colors, and cuteness fill the room at Happy DIY! Upon walking in, the owners/employees were very helpful in explaining everything and assisting along the way. You pick what you want to design, grab a tray, fill it up with the cute charms or trinkets, and grab a seat to work on your creation. There were multiple drawers of that included everything from Sanrio characters, other cute cartoon animals, to food and drinks and they were all different sizes. I decided to decorate a phone case and it was so much fun picking out the decorations. My friend decorated a jewelry box and you can also choose from mirrors, airpod cases, hair clips, and more to decorate. The sign said press on nails are coming soon! I also feel like if you're good at cake decorating you could get very creative with your design! I didn't think it was too pricey either though if you use multiple colors of the cream glue it does cost $15 each. Phone cases cost $28, and some smaller items cost between $10-$15. On the wall there are examples of finished creations for inspiration. When you tell them you're done, they package your product and tell you to let it try for five days before using. l This was cuteness overload, a great afternoon activity to do either alone or with friends.

Great service. Very friendly staff that helped me to apply the icing. There is a large selection of bases and charms- though mostly pastel focused. Definitely a fun experience if you have some time to be intentional/thoughtful about the craft

    Price list

To start off, me and my friend went here recently and had a great time! There were lots of options regarding the charms, piping colors, and even glitter you could put on your case! The shop is pretty small but it was still big enough where you could move around comfortably. I would say this place is great if you're looking to just sit down, have a long conversation, and chill while decorating with your friends or family. Now, for the people who are more concerned with how you should plan, how much money you should bring, etc, I will explain: Me and my friend went on a Friday at around 2pm. It was definitely kinda busy. All the tables were full when we got there and since we did a walk-in instead of a reservation, we had to wait a few minutes for a table. With that being said, if you're planning on going here with a larger group of people especially during the weekends, I recommend making a reservation! You can dm them on Instagram or call the shop. I paid to decorate the iPhone case which was about $27, but they had a bunch of options! (Pic of the list down below). If you or anyone you're going with has an android I highly recommend asking them if they have your phone model. They have some but there's not a huge variety like the iPhone cases. Me and my friend took an hour to finish decorating and left at around 3pm. Overall, this shop is very cool and nice. 10/10 would recommend

This is theft, and these folks are un trustworthy and not a professional operation or interested in any kind of respectful and honest customer service. They're also going to be adding some plant life to their selection. Staff was friendly but not too pushy, and even offered me a mimosa while I shopped! Genius business plan. I bought some really cute earrings and I feel like they were discounted because of that drink, that's how that works right? Great place to kill time while you're waiting 45 minutes for Little Spoon/The Cambridge to call your name.

Nestled side by side with the 'Christmas Village' market the Made in Philly has many small stalls selling candles, clothes, ornaments, food drink both hard and soft, and is a great place to shop for the season. While the 'the Christmas Village is more international and mass produced. Made in Philly is, as the name implies more local business and more artesian. If you're looking for that holiday something that screams local pride, this is it! Besides being smaller than the Christmas village the Made in Philly market is a little more relaxed. There are more areas to sit down and let your mind wander and abutting the Rothman ice rink you're not just limited to shopping and dining. I would recommend going during the day and going early in the season as the site gets busier in the evenings as commutes stop off and on the weekends. You may also find stocks not dwindling as the season rolls on as these are produced locally. Afterall it's easier to get a shipment in from Fishtown than something going to the Christmas Village from Dresden or Stockholm! Also they do not seem to have the problems with a uniform form of payment that is a both in the Christmas village. The one real downside here is the limited selection. While smaller than the Xmas Village there is also a sameness to some of the stalls, there's only so much you can do with scented candles.

A good number of visitors not masking. I highly recommend using the portapotties outside rather than the bathrooms inside, as the portapotties were surprisingly very clean and had no line, while the indoor bathroom had a long line of 50% unmasked individuals and some stalls had no toilet paper. Loud music may make this less than ideal for people with babies.

It had all things yoga and metaphysical in there and I loved it. From pretty quartz crystals to Tibetan singing bowls to incense, they had everything and anything. I've been wanting to find a shop similar in Philly and this one is like that but on a smaller scale and a bit more high end. I'm sad that they are going to be transitioning to being more of a pop up but I'm glad I still was able to stop by today. Probably not the best idea because I ended up spending more money than I intended to but it's for a good reason/investment into self care and spiritual protection (which I think we could all benefit from). What I appreciated most was how most of the things in there were handcrafted and curated by artisan jewelry makers or small business owners. The selection varies from intentional candles to crystals to rings to bath items but they all held special intentions and purposes like cleansing, healing, protection, etc. It all does seem a bit witchy , but it had good vibes. I don't consider myself to dabble in witchcraft (though I think some people do). I'm more about prayer, goal setting, and self care and spirituality which often gets confused for being withchery or sorcery which is sad, but I think it's how you use those kinds of things. You can tell the store had good vibes and promotes positivity and self care which I'm all about. I believe they are going to use it as a community space and will eventually host workshops which I'm excited about. I'm just really happy I stumbled upon it when I did and that I found some unique items in it. They are on the pricier side but again totally worth it. Investing in your mind and body is important, but your spirit in my opinion needs just as much tending to so I'm glad I was led in this direction. I was actually heading somewhere else entirely and landed at this place. Coincidence? I think not :) Happy Yelping! Note that they also have cute greeting cards and books. It's not just all spiritual stuff, but other cute Knick knacks too.
