Not only was he waiting on another customer, but he paused briefly to wait on me and then ran out to his car to get a custom pair of spectator cords to attach to the sunglasses, so my husband wouldn't lose them! In my experience, this is definitely the best hardware store anywhere. They always have what I need and there are always employees around ready to help. Unlike other hardware stores or big box stores, when I cannot find something, I also cannot find an employee to assist. That is not the case here; rather, there are plenty of employees eager to help and they seem to know the look of a customer who cannot find something. The space is pleasant and decorated with historical photos from Naples decades ago, and the experience of shopping here always exceeds my expectations. read more

This Naples institution is perfectly located for me between the Wynn's Supermarket/Gourmet store and the health club at the hospital on Tamiami Trail, N. (The supermarket's Juice Bar makes the best and healthiest protein shakes in the area.) The hardware is a gem in the community as it is stocked so much better than the big box stores. For example, Ace has a huge selection of wood and metal screws, bolts, washers, and nuts in all sizes located in individual bins so you can get as many or as few as you need for your projects. The paint department is also well-stocked with several brands of paints and stains to choose from as well as all the related items to do the job(s). I'm not a fisherman but can plainly see that the store has a wide variety of equipment, including clothing, to get beginners and experienced people out on the water. They also have a great selection of tools, plumbing supplies, cleaning products, grilling products, and other individualized services such as key cutting and knife sharpening. The work shop in the back replaces window and door screens and provides a variety of helpful services. The wide selection of products this store has to offer is trumped by the help provided by numerous knowledgeable employees! They not only help you find items in the store but give great advice on how to fix things for us DIYers that are often stumbling around trying to figure out how to do "one of a kind" and "never again!" projects. Great customer service! I was in to get some fishing gear. I know nothing about bass fishing gear, so I came in and a nice lady was helping me for a bit, but then transferred me over to John, as he is the fishing guru of the store. He picked out a perfect rod for me as well as some other goodies, and put new line on my reel. He explained the differences in each one so I was able to choose the one that was right for me. I brought my dog in, and a few employees came up to her and petted her, and they gave her treats at the checkout. :). The store is very well organized and very clean. There are plenty of associates who are willing to help out and it generally looks inviting in there. The parking was awesome, and there were no carts in the lot to blow into my car- bonus! Come here instead of a big boxed store for excellent customer service and a variety of what you need. I'll be back! read more

I would always come to this hardware store if I had a question about what I needed. They always had someone in the front who would tell you what isle and then radio ahead to someone in that department, to let them know you were coming. A great way to run a hardware store when many consumers are confused what they need and where to find it! But, this past week I visited and it seemed everything had changed! Not one person there to help me, or even ask if I needed help! I'm not sure if this is permanent, or just a fluke, but I felt just like I do when I go to Lowe's or Home Depot. Not good. read more

Love this place. People working there really care about what you need, being friendly and courteous... It's like stepping back in time to a more respectful, conscientious, and technically competent theme of customer service; you know, kind of the opposite of Home Depot or Lowe's. We bought a new Weber grill 2 months ago from ace hardware in Naples. We spent over 1000 for this grill. They delivered it to our home and we left 2 days later to go back to TN. We just returned to Naples and the grills wheels were slanted and cracked. We called ace to tell them and they said not their problem, call Weber. They were very rude and after speaking to the store manager she sent someone out to look. The store manager was very nice . He said the wheels were cracked and it was obvious that he was very angry that he had to come to my house. I am use to customer service but evidentially they will sell but don't care after that. We have not even used the grill and we only moved it two feet before we left. We will never purchase anything from this store again. read more
