So, I'm compelled to share my experience with Sundshades Window tinting from Palm Desert. Back Story: I had requested a quote from Sunshades back in July. I was assisted by a saleswoman who quoted me around 2,400 for both my living room and bedroom windows. At the time it wasn't within my budget so I advised I would shop around. Early August, I received a call from the same woman advising my they had extra material and could meet my 2K budget. I was thrilled and accepted the bid. All the windows where subsequently tinted except from one, which I was waiting for it to be repaired. Upon completion, I received a final invoice for 2,400. I was baffled. I spoke to saleswoman who advised I had added an additional room. Quote was only for 10 windows. I counted 10 windows. Well one window has 2 panels which totals 2 windows. I expressed my frustration and asked to speak to the owner Francisco for further explanation. Plus, they had to come back to do the 1 (2 panel) window. In my opinion it was a complete bait and switch. I specifically pointed out which windows I wanted done and what I wanted the estimate for. Fast forward 2 weeks. After radio silence from Francisco or the saleswoman. Francisco showed up at my door yesterday. He demanded the 2,400. I explained to him the scenario, what I had pointed out and what my top dollar budget was. I was very clear about this. This is why I decided to hold off a few weeks on this project. Francisco accepted the 2K amount. He requested my credit card at my front door. I told him, "No offensive but I don't really trust what your company says. Send me a final updated invoice for my records, and I'll call your office today to process my payment." Reasonable request I believed. Didn't want my card charged 2,400 then I have no documentation of our agreement. Francisco became "elevated" to say the least. He demanded my credit card on the spot. I said no. No final invoice, no payment. Simple. At this point, I told him, no need for him to tint the final window. I requested the final invoice and our transaction would be complete and we can part ways. He is no longer welcomed back on my property. He said, "Oh, I'll be back." This morning I had planned to contact Francisco. Knowing small business are probably under added stress due to C19, I would give him the benefit of the doubt. Reviews have been positive about Francisco on yelp and anyone can have a bad day. My plan was to meet Francisco in the middle. I walk out of my garage to walk my dog. I immediately noticed my mom's car had been keyed from front to rear bumper. I knew it had happened within a day or so because the car hasn't moved. I reviewed my RING camera footage, and to my shock, Francisco (the owner) upon leaving my house yesterday keyed my car. On video, plain as day. I hesitated to report this on this forum because anyone can have a bad day, but this is not normal behavior. This is an intentional violent act. It was a sales bait and switch tactic that failed and a retaliatory violent response. This has been reported and footage has been turned over to the Sheriff's Department. It is a felony. This is someone I let in my home. Wanted to let the Yelp world know so it doesn't happen again. Sunshades always seems to amaze me. We have been getting our cars done with them for over 10 years. I just got my dream car ( Grand Jeep Cherokee w/three row seats) I am a softball team mom, and I'm always driving my girls around from city to city. I wanted privacy and to reduce heat. However I have trouble driving at night, so I didn't want to go to dark. So we decided to go with a light color since the back has already privacy glass. After driving the car for a couple days, I realize it was still too light for me. I'm receive a call from Sunshades a week later, as a courtesy follow-up call. It takes an unusually superior experience for me to take the time to write a review, but in this case the team at Sunshades Window Tinting (in particular Veronica and Lily) deserve it! The team was very supportive of me as I worked with my HOA to get approval to tint 10 older clerestory windows - a process that took approximately 3 months. When I needed additional samples to evaluate with our architectural review committee, the team was prompt, courteous and professional. When I had to replace a window and get it retinted (no fault of Sunshades WT) they took full responsibility for ensuring that the work would be completely covered by my warranty - including coordinating the various window replacement estimates as well as any communications that were needed with the film's manufacturer. Once the pane was replaced, the Sunshades team came back and retinted the window promptly with an excellent result. Only been a month and already have a rock chip go thru the ppf on one headlight and I noticed some spots in the rear view window tint. The employees are very nice and offered to fix the rear view mirrors ppf but it is a far drive for me to go again in a month. They gave me a refund for the mirrors but couldn't do anything about the headlight. There were a few errors that weren't Cisco's fault, but the nature of the tinting process that I brought to his attention. Cisco is a man who stands proudly by his work and I appreciate it. He fixed the issues I had (small bubbles that didn't go away) a total of three times so that it would be perfect and never hesitated to do so. There are different rules for different states. While there we talked about the kinds of tints we could get on our rental property. I am new to Yelp! With that being said, Sunshades Window Tinting entire staff, did an excellent job from beginning, to the end of my transaction. Normally businesses do not impress me, but Sunshades absolutely took me by surprise. I didn't realize how many different types of window films are in the market. Francisco was so patient with me. He took his time to explain every single different type of films they have from carbon to their best performance infrared nano ceramic products. They have a machine in the lobby that you can test the different types of films. I love their best performance film, however it was not in my budget. I really enjoyed working with Francisco. He was not pushy at all. He genuinely, wanted me to get something that would work with my budget. That made my car look great and still giving me the great benefits of a ceramic film. After living with the window tinting for a couple of days we discovered it acted like a mirror from inside the house at night. We were unable to see out. We contacted Francisco who basically told us that's the way it is and there was nothing he could do for us. He so much as called my wife a liar !
