My experience was okay…read more I made a most difficult decision to let my beloved cat go after a long weekend spent almost entirely in ER trying to figure out why he would no longer eat and why his eye was swelling shut. And an even longer two or three weeks before that fighting to get him to eat. Like others here, Kevin was closer to me than my human family. I was busy with the doctors in ER so my partner called in to make the appointment to ease my stress. He said I was primary contact, but it was difficult to make that clear all the way until the day so communications were continually going to him. Not a big deal in the overall picture, but it didn't make the experience any easier. This was my cat for 8 years before I met my partner and while he loved my baby, I was the one with the lifelong bond. The doctor showed up within the time window allotted. We both found her a little cold. I felt like we were just a job and everything was done by number. My BF picked up my cat and carried him to me, but the doctor said we should do paperwork first which resulted in me putting him down after building up to do what I deemed impossible. I was emotional and crying. This really should somehow be handled before the visit. There were corrections to be made on the form. I was about to lose my baby and this only made me aware that I was filling out his death warrant. I am utterly heartbroken. I know holding your baby until the last minute is catharsis and closure, but I found it traumatizing. His passing was peaceful at least. Everyone's goodbye will be unique, and my example will not necessarily match what others experience. Everyone we spoke to was professional. I just wasn't feeling the compassion.

In the past, he's hated his groomers and cries and howls when we show up. I have no question that Kaylie takes good care of him. Jack doesn't like getting his legs brushed or groomed, Terri noticed and still did a great job on his legs and feet. Jen has been grooming my family's two poodles in San Francisco for years now. She's an avid…read moredog-lover and is an almost dog-whisperer level dog enthusiast. Dogs are happy in her extraordinarily capable hands, and they always come out looking fantastic! My two dogs never look better than after they've had a grooming session with her. She is also quite well-versed in canine health; one of our dogs has some stomach problems and the other had a couple of unexpected seizures, and Jen is always doing a quick double-check to make sure they're happy and healthy, oftentimes pointing out things that we may not have noticed or know to look for. I cannot recommend Jen highly enough; my only regret is that she isn't still in California because I don't know if we're ever going to find an acceptable substitute.
