I've been in this shopping plaza a few times before and never noticed this juice bar. Decided to stop in to see what was available. The place was very clean and airy. Their menu has fresh pressed , juices, smoothies, and açai bowls. I went with the Everything vitamin and the HeartBEET. I love beets in a juice so the heartbeet was my fave. The Everything Vitamin was very cinnamon-y. It had so much cinnamon in it that even shaking it just left it in clumps. I like this drink too, but less cinnamon would have made it perfect. The young lady on staff was very personable. I do plan to visit again.

An icy açaí "smoothie" bowl. They should be rightfully called sorbet bowls.

We've been to Sunset Raw now 3 times. The Sunset Açaí Energy Smoothie Bowl I ordered should have been called a sorbet bowl with the amount of ice it contained. It had little flavor as well. In addition, the staff are young and not very friendly. The best time was the second time & it was on a Wednesday morning. The young lady who served me was super friendly and helpful. The OG Bowl had more banana and less açaí than I would have liked, however, but she told me that upfront, so I knew. I lived in Brazil and have enjoyed true açaí so my expectations are high when it comes to anything açaí. At a price of $26 for 2 smoothie bowls, my expectations are for exceptional quality & taste, and Sunset Raw did not fully deliver on these expectations. We traveled from Northern VA to Maple Lawn MD, so that was disappointing. I would recommend the company play music as well, as it would improve the ambiance.

    Melted, watery, earthy açaí mix:(!

Let me start by saying, I completely understand this establishments name is "sunset raw juice bar". Their specialty must be juices. But they also do smoothies, açai Bowls, etc. The açaí bowl I received was beyond lame. Lame is an understatement. To start This bowl came to me completely melted. No substance to the Açaí blend at all. I asked for honey and that was forgotten. But the flavor of the açaí blend was horrendous. No sweet taste, no tartness, not texture. Just a liquid, earthy flavored, seedy mix. The choice of granola was also pretty bland. I was happy with the texture of the granola. But the taste was completely none existent. Their blue berrys were juicy and plump. Which is the only thing of the bowl I did eat. On top of that the young man taking the order had ZERO communication skills or explanatory skills what so ever. To anyone reading, drive an extra 10 min down 29 for the best bowl you'll find in the area, "PLAYA BOWL"!!

My concoction! Kale, spinach, banana, blueberries, ginger and coconut milk - yum!

Food - outstanding! Service - extraordinary! Ambiance - lovely! I was in the area and saw this juice bar, so I decided to stop in to see if I could grab a green smoothie or other fresh pressed juice. I was delighted to see such an extensive menu to include food items along with freshly made juices and smoothies! I ordered my own custom smoothie - kale, spinach, banana, blueberries, pineapple, ginger, and coconut milk as the base. It was yummy! I now have a yummy go-to juice bar in one of my favorite areas in MD! Yay!!

This place is very hit or miss. I've had great bowls filled to the top, and meh bowls with 2 inches of space to the top of the bowl. At $25 for 2 regular sized bowls, I expect filling to the top. See picture. Inconsistency is another factor. Sometimes they remember to add the honey drizzle to the OB bowl, sometimes they don't. Sometimes the juice fridge is stocked, other times it isn't. My latest annoyance is the wait time. Expect a 20-30 minute wait when it isn't even busy. I dined the other week and there was only 1 other person waiting. It took nearly 30 minutes for my 2 bowls. When I inquired after patiently waiting, I was told the printer didn't print my order and they would have to reprint and start my order. Okay, no big deal, things happen. But then there was no sense of urgency to complete my order. They continued to fill several other orders who came well after me. No real apology. I contacted them via their website after I got home to express my concern about their printer, and never heard back. This was 3 weeks ago. Guess they don't care?

    Cacao Crunch

I ordered, they forgot about my order, filled two other orders, saw me standing by the door, and made my order. Total time spent 25 minutes. Not bad but just frustrating because I was in a hurry and I didn't want to be rude and demand they make my stuff first. I got the cacao crunch and it wasn't great but it wasn't bad. They were missing an ingredient.

As I'm sitting here sipping on my freshly squeezed juice. I have to say I absolutely love everything about this juice bar. Let's start with why: 1. This location is perfect. it's conveniently located in/ maple lawn (Fulton) the fabulous Howard county 2. Very clean!! I love walking into a food establishment that has the Mr. clean sparkle*** 3. Nice variety of juices and health/immunity shots 4. The Açaí bowl was very good I had the bowl mixed with OJ and I love the honey drizzle/ fresh fruits. However I wasn't crazy about the pitaya bowl. 5. I must admit the watermelon bliss is unbelievable. Very refreshing and tasty. It's watermelon, pineapple and mint (a non-alcoholic mojito) if you ask me ;) 6. Customer service! Yes I'm a service girl. The cashier was a pleasure. 7. I love that the staff kindly greet you upon entering. I will definitely return to this location. I'm impressed. I'm looking forward to trying the shots this week!

Came here looking for some fresh fruit smoothies. Left with some cold pressed beet juice. The taste really wasn't bad. They have a fridge area where you can choose what kind of cold pressed juice you'd like. I opted for the beet juice for the benefits to help with getting my blood pressure down. My daughter got the strawberry banana smoothie. Had a little taste of it and it was very refreshing. Check them out. You won't be disappointed.

My first time here and I will definitely be back. They have already made juices in the fridge if you're in a hurry and you can also order your juice at the register. I grabbed my juices from the fridge sunset chill and everything vitamin. In loveeee with everything vitamin. My favorite so far.

No matter the season, you will catch me eating a smoothie bowl. The taste, the colors, the nutrients, the aesthetics... I was surprised when my GPS took me to the Maple Lawn shopping center since I was just there for the first time ever recently. Their storefront faces the street, with some parallel parking, so could be easy to miss if driving by or parked in one of the lots. Smoothies/smoothie bowls always take a long time once ordered, which I often don't mind since I know they're dealing with fresh ingredients. I got the large Pitaya bowl and was so happy with the size... it is literally inside a carry out container... so order accordingly. One small negative: wish they had more seating outdoors to enjoy.

Ordered a few raw juices from here, both really delicious and fresh then decided to do a juice cleanse when I saw they provided that service. When trying to order a 3-day cleanse I was given the run around, my follow up email was never responded to; whenever I called I was put on hold or told to call back later... that's a first! When people really want your business they will normally take your information down and return your call if they are busy. Needless to say, after three days of playing phone/email tag I decided to just by a slow juicer off Amazon and juice myself! Thanks for providing the recipe on your bottles and saving me $160 dollars for a cleanse Sunset Raw! Also, now I don't have to pay $9 a bottle for your juices anymore! Thanks for the reusable bottles too Seriously, if you don't have the capacity to provide cleanses to customers just say that.

For my first time trying an açaí bowl, Sunset definitely didn't disappoint! I went with the Sunset bowl with all toppings (10/10 recommend.) My mom tried the Colada bowl and also loved it. The bowls were filled to the brim - the regular size is huge and filling. The only thing I noticed was the base was a little watery. The employee taking our order was so sweet, and the bowls took 5-10 minutes to come out. The interior of the shop is nicely decorated and modern as well. I love that this is a healthier breakfast/snack option that can be grab-and-go. I'll be returning for sure!

I went in about 11am and it was pretty busy, but staff was nice and patient with everyone. Good service and good Acai bowl! It's made fresh once ordered. I waited for about 10 minutes, and it's very beautifully plated. I had it back in my car since the store was quite busy and I would not want to eat indoor while people around in a small space. They do have some outdoor benches nearby. I got the OB Acai bowl with everything in it. It was very well made and the flavor was great! I didn't know apple would work with Acai! I'm glad I didn't do any alteration cause it's perfect with a bit of honey and the choice of fruits. I would visit again if I pass by (I live further away now). I would recommend it to everyone who wants a fresh, cold, and somewhat healthier lunch/ snack!

I asked for a refund and the guy told me I had to call corporate (this has happened to me before but I thought they might've updated their website and processes). I call corporate just for them to tell me they'll send a email to the manager of that store to request one and they will get it with 15 min (doesn't really help if the manager isn't there which is why I couldn't get a refund right away in the first place). A day goes by and I haven't heard anything so I call this morning, 8/14 and ask to speak with the manager. Once again he is not there. I ask if there was any supervisor or duty and the lady tells me no. At this point I'm annoyed so I ask if there is only one person in the store designated to give refunds and she replies yes. I ask for someone's contact information and then she literally passed the phone to someone else and they both begin giggling. The girl who answered had to gather her composure and I could hear them both just continuing to laugh. She tells me the girl had to deal with something and had to go. How unprofessional is that? The new lady on the phone is now telling me that I have to call the Bethesda store to speak with the manager, who is Iglicio, if I want to get in contact with him. I call and he's not there just to get a lady to simply say, "Hello." I was taken aback and had to check if I had the right number. When I asked if this was Tropical Smoothie, with an attitude she goes, "Uh, yeah." Who are you all hiring?! This is highly unacceptable to me. Corporate can't tell me when I'm gonna receive a refund because they don't have contact with the stores. They can only send request. What is the point of corporate, then? And I should not have to track someone down just to receive a refund when the site wasn't update. I would've never ordered and gone through this AGAIN. I am highly disappointed in Tropical Smoothie and livid you employ people who think it's okay to pass phones and then laugh while customers are asking for refunds and to speak to a manager. Please know that you have loss a customer and I will be advising everyone I know to never order from any of your establishment again. This experience has been frustrating, the customer service has been horrible, and it makes no sense you all don't have a central way to give customers refunds. Highly disappointed.
