I communicated with Ms. Kaltun, the director and I must say, after speaking to her once, I was "sold" at putting my son at her school. She is very personable, very kind and understanding, genuine and just listened to my questions, concerns and answered them confidently which gave me peace of mind sending my son over to a school during the pandemic. We then went to the school for a tour and met Ms. Komala, our son's primary teacher. At first meeting, our son felt very comfortable with her and he never forgot her name even tho it took us about 4 months before starting in class- she sure gave him a good impression and really showed us how much she cared for the children. I have so much good things to say about the school. I have recommended them to my friends and coworkers who also had good experience with them. Overall, this is a place that cares about our children, they do not look at them as numbers like all the others. If you want quality education and a safe place for your children, this is it.

Her reading comprehension is strong and her attention is much improved. The thing that I really appreciate about the teachers is the fact that they want to learn more about the respective cultures of the student body so that they can prepare them for the diverse world that exists outside of the school. My daughter is part of such a warm and welcoming environment, so much so that they even invited parents to come in and contribute towards a special event yesterday to better understand and appreciate the importance of Lunar New Year to my family and the other families that celebrate. As a dad, I will always be thankful for that. Highly recommend.

My kid excels academically beyond her peers who went to different schools, and she even learn Spanish! They also have extra curricular activities like ballet, hip-hop, yoga and soccer. After touring this primrose location, my husband and I loved the atmosphere and decided to enroll…read moreour 14 month old daughter and went back on Tuesday January 20th to complete enrollment paperwork. While my husband was filling out docs, I walked my daughter through the school hallway to keep her busy and when I looked into the 16M+ classroom (the classroom she would be joining), I witnessed the teacher yank a little boy by his arm. She pulled him from above the elbow and his legs were not touching the ground. Not only that we heard her yell at a child in the classroom to "SIT DOWN" very aggressively before this. It was loud enough that we heard it from the sitting room in the front. The directors assistant went into the classroom to check what was going on. Needless to say, we did not enroll our daughter into this school and left shortly after. I let the director know what I had seen and we left. I later got a phone call from the director explaining what I had seen was redirection from the teacher and that she had been at "this school for 4 years" and said words like "appeared" and "perceived". There is no excuse for a teacher to yell at babies in this way. There is no excuse for someone to pull a child in the way that she did. She could have caused an injury and dislocated his shoulder. I did not get another phone call and I don't know if this incident was reported but | feel like it is my responsibility to let anyone looking into this school know what I saw. I still think about that poor child and what his parents might not know. Please do not enroll your children into this school especially if your babies cannot speak to you and let you know what kind of treatment they are getting. What I saw has affected me and we are lucky enough to be able to keep our girl at home with us and delay day care.

This is totally unacceptable, their communication was terrible and they acted like they did not care. I may not be a big donor but I am still paying $900 a month for this school. Unbelievable.

Our daughter attended Common Ground for almost four years. She had great teachers all the way…read morethrough. Nothing just positive things to say about them. So why 1*? The leadership. Let's start with the so-called "parents boards". Last I checked, half weren't even parents of kids who were at the center anymore. There is no election, no terms, no organization. The board president apparently is in charge of appointing board members. She will ask for volunteers- don't fall for it. Even if you apply, you will probably get ghosted. They are supposed to be in charge of hiring and monitoring the administration. So let's talk about that administration. The first executive director during our time here was let go for unclear reasons. Then they hired "Mr. G", who seemed to be quite close to the board president. And he ran this place to the ground. Tuition raises were common without explanation- but suddenly front office staff has brand new Macs, his friends are hired as admin, and he buys a brand new house. They randomly open a second location nearby the first one- seems it was owned by another buddy of his. They change food providers without reason to one that serves junk food- turns out it was because they were behind on paying the original one! Then finally he was let go/ quit- who knows, no one could get the story straight. From everything the board spun to the parents, he probably should have been charged with fraud and embezzlement, but the board declined to since they hired the grifter. So besides the finances, how did this impact our family? My daughter's transitions between rooms were completely botched by a constant lack of communication. Then when the second location shut down, they moved all the students over, and the original location was completely overcrowded. They moved one classroom into a make-shift room in the main hall and had to share it with much older grade schoolers. By the time COVID hit, we were about ready to pull our daughter out any way, so the decision was easy. If Common Ground reads this, don't bother trying to make excuses, you know all the above is true. I hope for the kids' and the amazing teachers' sake, they turn things around eventually.
