I begged to be let into public school like my neighborhood friends the last three years of elementary school and even as a kid I was blown away by how much better the local public school was. You would think a private school would have more resources than a public school but this is not the case in Fairfax County where our education system is ballin. Many many many moons later, I had a friend who enrolled her kid in a private religious school and ended up moving him to public school a year later for the exact same reason I stated. The one thing that was awesome / appalling about St. Tim's was their utter disrespect for healthy school lunches in the 90's. They literally would cater our school lunches from McDonalds, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut. Oh memories.

I watched from my car the second day after I dropped her off and neither one of the teachers tried to help my daughter find a friend. She walked around sadly and I never saw her play. They said she "bounced back"after I brought her blanket and stuffed animal but it shouldnt take that to get a child to feel safe in a school. I was hesitant to put her in this camp because friends said when management changed the school lost the heart of what a kids school should be and now its all about money and I totally agree. We strongly believe that all children deserve to be in an environment where they are accepted, valued, and treated equally--regardless of their background or appearance. The teachers and the administration really cares about the child well being and know each child on an individual level, even the administration staff. Fresta Valley Christian School was honestly really tough for me. A lot of the people there weren't…read morevery nice, which was surprising since it's supposed to be a Christian school. I expected more kindness and understanding, but instead, there was a lot of favoritism and unfairness. On top of that, there were several situations where I felt like they handled things really poorly, and that just made me hate going to school even more. The teachers didn't make it any easier either. For example, I told them a whole month in advance that I'd be gone for vacation during the last week of school, but they still said I'd get zeros on assignments I missed. That felt super unfair and like they didn't really care about what the students were going through. It was frustrating because I wanted to do well and be treated fairly, but that just didn't happen. After dealing with all of this for a year and a half, I knew I couldn't stay there anymore. It was disappointing because I really hoped for a positive and supportive environment, but it ended up being the opposite. Looking back, I wish things had been different because no one should have to go through that kind of experience at school. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone.

My daughter loved her, got very attached to her and learned so much in that classroom. When she turned two in May she transferred to the 2-s classroom and we never thought there could be another teacher as good as Ms. Yaneth but low and behold we got Ms. Miki who is equally as amazing. SUPER sweet, and every time I pick up my daughter she doesn't even want to come home! And Ms. Miki gives me such a good report on her day and keeps me aware of issues we have discussed (not daycare related, things like how I want her to eat more but not certain things, etc.). These teachers become like family and I have not seen a SINGLE teacher leave, they have zero to low turnover. And the Director, Ms. Amy is so wonderful to work with. She always says hi and I feel so comfortable going to her with any concerns. What sold me on this particular center though, was when I enrolled my daughter my biggest concern was her transition since she had been at home with a nanny for 16 months and most daycare Directors would brush off that fear and say "oh don't worry she'll adjust." But Amy came up with a week long transition plan to have me in the classroom with her a few hours a day and extending my daughters time in the classroom without me day by day. It was such a great transition. For about one month she would cry at dropoff (and stop crying by the time I had walked out of the building) and ever since then when I drop her off I have to chase her to hug me and give me a kiss goodbye! If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a THING. Love my KinderCare family.

As our daughter moved to the preschool and pre-k we realized our need for private kindergarten. We discovered that the Goddard School is the only accredited school in the area. This adds to all the amazing academics that made us continue to choose Goddard Schools over daycares in the area. We love that we have seen the consistency in the staff, many of them have been here since before we started three years ago. We highly recommend the Goddard School of Leesburg.

The admins and teachers all seem wonderfully pleasant, and the kids that leave in the afternoon when I go to pick up mine all seem very happy. The assistant principal is especially sweet; I speak to her briefly most mornings. The school does seem a bit iffy on extracurricular activities. There are some; my daughter is currently in an after school art program. However, availability seems to be intricately tied to the husband/wife led PTO's funding and approval. This seems to lead to a lot of talking about activities, but little response when asked for details. We tried to volunteer for a host of activitiesast year, but never heard back. Perhaps if we went to more PTO meetings, that might change, but the one I did go to left me feeling as though the open policy was one of "come in and see how we do things," rather than "come in and participate." I don't know how common this is. We had PTAs when I grew up. Still, the school itself shows a lot of promise. I'm pleased as punch that they still provide art, music, and PE in this day and age. I feel safe sending my daughter in each morning, and even try to volunteer whenever I can.
