My toddler absolutely loves going to this school. He has made many friends and learned so many skills, including toilet learning before he was 2! All the teachers and staff are absolutely incredible, thoughtful, and go above and beyond to make the school safe, fun and the perfect environment for learning. He wakes up excited to go which makes me feel good about having to be away from him while I work. I highly recommend Guidepost to anyone considering. Guidepost Corporate leadership is not good. We had our daughter at Guidepost Sterling, VA. The staff at our post was amazing and we loved everything about our post. Unfortunately, the corporate leadership of Guidepost are money hungry corporate trash. We recently had our guidepost designation taken away. A few years ago corporate guidepost purchased a beautiful property with a huge yard literally touching Claude Moore Park. They then remodeled the property to be a childcare heaven. The best of local Guidepost staff rushed to work here. Corporate Guidepost then sold the property to an out of state investor for nearly 10x the value of the property. To get this deal done, they signed a long term lease at a highly inflated rate. Corporate Guidepost then aloud this place to flourish with amazing staff and venue until the post was bursting at capacity with happy families. Abruptly on January 20, 2025, Corporate Guidepost sent out an email to all families that they were unable to turn a profit at our post and would be closing the post at the end of February. This caught everyone, including post staff by surprise. Apparently, our posts staff were only given a few hours notice before the email to families was sent out. We were all invited to move our children to the very poorly managed and maintained (much cheaper property) Reston post. When my wife and I toured the facility, there was ripped up vinyl tiles and missing transition strips everywhere. Worst of all, all guides, in all classrooms, except for one single guide were on laptops and phones while children just played in rooms. When I asked why they were all on phones, we were informed that the "school day" ended at 1500 so guides were working on lesson plans and parent updates. This place is trash. Back to the Sterling post, Mike and Heidi, the post leadership, decided to remain at the Sterling location and build a new daycare (Parkside). Corporate guide post has done every dirty tactic they could to prevent this. Sending out emails with blatantly false information about the ability of the new Parkside daycare to operate; Corporate Guidepost refused to sign the official intent to break their lease until the owner's lawyer forced them to. This means Parkside could not get certifications and a new lease. Corporate Guidepost maliciously cause these delays and now Parkside needs two weeks after Guidepost left to reopen. This has left all the families who intent to stay at this location after Guidepost departs to find childcare elsewhere until Parkside can open. Disgusting behavior from a spiteful corporation. Guidepost USA is falling apart, do your research, massive post shutdowns all over the US and surprise, surprise, Guidepost is opening daycares in China. All of these corporate tactics of undercutting and abandonment are reasons why nearly every family from our Sterling location have chosen to stay instead of following Guidepost as they depart. You should also avoid Guidepost. read more

We brought my son to Guidepost after spending several years in the traditional day care setting and feeling like he was falling behind or not getting the teaching support he needed. We were looking for a place that could offer structure, smaller class sizes, and an individualized approach to learning for his Pre-K and Kindergarten years. We could not be happier with making the switch and only wish we had done it sooner. The teachers and leadership at the school are wonderful and you can tell there is genuine care in the teaching and nurturing of each child in their care. Not only has the school and its teachers helped my son grow academically he has also learned so many practical life skills such as teaching others, sharing, celebrating differences, patience, and focus. The tuition includes so many additional benefits such as regularly scheduled fun events for the kids and their families during and outside of school hours (Fall Festival, Foam Party, Splash Days, Petting Zoo, Easter Egg hunt, breakfasts to celebrate holidays, etc..). There are opportunities to get to know the classroom and what your child learns each day as well as monthly coffee chats with the Director Nicole and chances to get to know other parents. The school also does a great job of bringing in other extra optional activities you can sign your child up for like a Lego Robotics Class, Dance Class, Basketball, Art Class, Soccer, Yoga and more)- these cost extra but are a nice way to introduce your child to new experiences throughout the year. All of this to say that Guidepost at Reston is a wonderful school, great community, and top notch value for helping your child grow academically and as a person. We love this school and so grateful we came by for a tour. We decided to tour Guidepost first and didn't feel the need to check out other schools. The school is incredibly cute and felt very home like which gave us piece of mind. Both our girls have attended and have grown tremendously. This is a true Montessori school. They host many events throughout the year which are nice for the kids and they only close a handful of days a year which makes our lives easier with work. The guides and school administration have been amazing to work with and fully trust them with our kids. I could go on and on but I'll wrap it up-I'm so happy we found this school and believe the school is not only establishing a strong educational foundation but also ensuring guidance on kindness which is very important to me as (my) toddlers need this! read more

My daughter transferred from another local private school to the toddler program at Guidepost Montessori Broadlands campus in July 2019 at the age of 16 months. I initially felt nervous about how my daughter would react to the change. However, I noticed an immediate improvement in my daughter's temperament and overall health after she transitioned to Guidepost. The after-school meltdowns stopped and she was rarely sick, although this could be attributed to a maturing immune system. More importantly, my daughter was excited to return to school to see her friends and teachers every day! Ms. Lili, Ms. Mahlet, Ms. Erica, and Ms. Alessandra were tremendously supportive and patient when it was time for toilet learning. We started the process over winter break when my husband and I were both home from work so we could focus on helping our daughter. Frankly, I dreaded the process, but I was pleasantly surprised that my daughter got the hang of things in a matter of days! I appreciate the regular communications from the school, which ranges from daily reports and photos of my child hard at work/play from teachers to weekly email updates about school events/reminders. The text messages are also particularly helpful for communicating school delays/closures due to inclement weather. Guidepost Montessori communications and programming during U.S. COVID-19 quarantine has been nothing short of phenomenal. They surveyed all the parents and quickly organized virtual learning programs along with online tools and activities to help families cope. They also offered to pause tuition for families that did not want to enroll in online programming. My daughter is currently enrolled in Guidepost's Emergency Care for Essential Workers program at the Reston campus. My daughter continues to thrive at Guidepost Reston despite the change of venue, and my husband and I are so grateful for the help and support during this incredibly stressful time. It has been amazing to watch my daughter grow and develop into a curious, happy, and empathetic little person. I want to thank all of the staff for being so patient and kind to my daughter during these early, yet critical years of childhood development. We really like Guidepost Montessori at Reston. The teachers here are so nurturing, educational, patient, and caring. The classroom designs and toys provided are very organized, thoughtful, and clean that encourage Children's creativity development. They have excellent schedules throughout the day to help Children learn with different activities and adequate time for food, play time, and rest. We also like that they provide good quality snacks. The school sometimes arrange different activities for children and families at the campus which provides many valuable times together among family members and the community. A full day program without winter or summer break is also very convenient for many families. We are so very happy with Guidepost. We moved our at the time, 20 month old son from a traditional daycare to Guidepost 2 months ago. We have been really blown away by the staff, the other families and the progress our son has made. His verbal skills are through the roof and has already learned all of his primary colors and starting to recognize numbers. The classrooms are calm and organized compared to the chaos we used to see at his previous daycare. We used to have at least a couple of incident reports a week of another child hitting or biting our son..... so far not a single one. Really a testament to the strong leadership and supported teachers at Guidepost. Friends recently saw how our son clears his own place and how he uses please and thank you and they have also made the decision to make the change to the Guidepost near them. We were nervous about the change but now we wish we had done it sooner. We are very happy and so is our son. read more
