I'm appalled that my daughter has been a target of racism by some of her classmates. These kids are being taught bigotry and racism from their parents. A boy told my daughter today that " I don't like you because you are so dark and brown. Your dad is dark, and your mom is yellow". And there is a girl told my daughter she doesn't like her because she Is so "dark". I would hope that Primrose teaches kids racial diversity and acceptance. It is very disheartening to see kids that are only three or four years old saying these things. Of course, these "racial epithets" were taught at home and will only get worse as they get older. Racial epithets can be considered "Hate Crimes". We are very concerned about the environment at Primrose and the effect it is having on our daughter. Towards the end of last year my daughter was told she couldn't be a "Princess" because "Princesses" are "white" with "Blonde" hair. The school's attitude towards solving things was also very negative. It's just giving us some extremely official answers, and it doesn't show that they attach great importance to the occurrence of this problem. We were very angry about it and immediately stopped sending our daughter to this school. Think about when this thing happened, my daughter only 3 and half years old, and I have a Ashburn Mommy group, as I know there have been many incidents of similar problems in this school. read more
