Two stars is being generous. The best thing about this place is the very helpful hostesses when we first sat down and it went downhill from there. We had reservations for 5:45 and didn't get our main course until two hours later. When it came to refills for drinks (soft drinks, not even alcohol) it was around 20min wait. Either they need more servers or less tables, something has to give. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and asked if they could chop it and the server acted like I was asking her to move another planet into orbit, saying "I'll see what I can do" lol. I then received a salad with more chicken than lettuce, fatty pieces + all, easily had to be over a pound of chicken on my salad, generous with the protein I guess. One of the members of my party ordered the mussel pasta (was supposed to be a white wine sauce) but it had the consistency of dish water and the taste of it. The ambiance was nice, the view was beautiful, at least it was a distraction from the food. Also make a note that any 5 star you see, they literally have a sign incentivizing giving them 5 stars and noting something along the lines of "we'll hook you up" if you prove your 5 star lol. If I could leave a 0 I would. I paid $78 only because I didn't receive over half of the things I was going to buy. Bought a bottle and was informed that the bottle wasn't available and said they would have a replacement. My wife got her drink and then we proceeded to wait 35 min for 4 oyster and 4 shrimp. The bottle never came and when asked the waiter. He couldn't recall taking our order and tried making an excuse that the systems were down. The waiter then said that he would bring one out and then we proceeded to wait another twenty minutes. No bottle came and we asked for a check. We found a different server and he said that he would check, my original waiter did not arrive with the check for another fifteen minutes. I asked our lovely waitstaff that I would need our check quickly as I am rather allergic to bees. Pictured is my $25 avocado toast, made with supermarket sliced bread (which had probably been toasted hours before because it was rock hard), 2 eggs, 1oz of crab meat, a mountain of arugula, and the two tiniest pieces of avocado I have ever seen. And the bits that you could eat oily and crispy. $40 My daughter ordered the french toast that was supposed to come with bacon and berry compote. Not sure what they did with that but it had this weird, off putting smell/taste that usually happens when you don't cook the sauce down enough. It was basically wilted, defrosted strawberries with a weird taste to them. The toast itself was ok, nothing great, a bit soggy. $19 My husband ordered the special Mahi Mahi tacos. The fish again was overcooked and barely any taste to it, it was only 2 tacos, the portion/filling very small. $24 We had a couple of soft drinks and a beer, the total with tip (which we kept at 20% because the service itself was great) came to $120 and we left HUNGRY. Next Ceviche was not At all prepared correctly. Sufficient amount of seafood but has No lime or traditional ingredients. Their version is a tasteless watered down gazpacho. Was a bowl of seafood with a watered down tomatoe juice poured on top of it . Nothing marinated no flavor at all . The service was lacking , waitress disappeared, time for food to come out too long and restaurant was not even busy (arrived early for dinner )server came out with food and couldn't find our table . Instead of just asking who ordered ceviche and oysters they circled back to the kitchen . Asked for waitress and other the staff was just clueless to help . The restaurant is on a great spot on the water at Calf Pasture Beach. Our dinner started not so well. It was a warm day and they have 2 covered areas, one of which had the covering blow off in a storm the night before. So shaded table were reduced. We got there at 4 when they open for dinner and nothing in the shade was available. We were seated and saw a table next to us that was shaded by a plant and the couple were leaving so we snagged that. A few minutes later the umbrellas came out. Wish they had mentioned that when they said no shade tables. After that, things got much better. Service was good, my mussels were great. My wife got the King Crab roll. I had some business in upper Westchester County, in New York. Mrs. E. Was with me, it was Saturday afternoon and I promised her lunch for taking the ride with me. A search of Yelp directed us to this waterfront restaurant. I called just to make sure they had outside seating just to be sure. Yes. OK we're on our way. As most know, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut are serious about fighting Covid 19, so en- route we passed a number of Police check points. Apparently this restaurant is very close to the beach and only Connecticut residents are permitted on the beaches. Well we finally made it to the restaurant and we're seated on their outside deck. We ordered drinks which seemed to lack liquor. Oh boy looks like we're headed for bad experience, but the problem is rectified immediately and it's all good, fabulous from here on. We started with Oysters Rockefeller which were excellent. My wife ordered the pan seared scallops, which were off the charts amazing. Came with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. Just all out fabulous. I ordered the Lobster Risotto. Came with a drizzling of pesto. At first I didn't see much Lobster, but when I stated to eat the risotto, chunks of lobster looked like they were trying to escape from within the Risotto. I couldn't believe how much lobster was packed into the risotto. Since the COVID hit, we haven't been out to eat, so our first experience in several months was just wonderful. They keep all tables distanced and all staff were wearing masks. They were also pretty strict about going inside to use the restroom. Only one person inside at a time. Went here for a girls night on a Saturday. We had a 7pm reservation and when we got there on time were told we had to wait for 8 more tables to open before we could get seated on the water side of the deck. Not sure why we had a reservation but we got a table quick by sitting on the parking lot side instead that was closer to the band. It was the perfect night to be out and the sunset was gorgeous. Might be why no one was moving. We had the calamari which was really good and oysters and mussels to start. The local oysters were the smallest I've ever seen and 1/2 the mussels weren't even open. When I told the waiter he said he would open them for us. We know that's not what you do with mussels. I also asked why the oysters were so small and he said the ones on the special were bigger but he never told me that or offered. The waiter pretty much just took our orders. Staff brought food and drinks to the table and were very nice but we hardly saw or were checked on by our waiter the entire night. My entree however made up for it. I had the Halibut piccata and it was AMAZing! So delicious that I will crave it. We also had the scallops and crab cakes that were just as good. The music from the band was a bit loud on our side of the deck but after a few drinks and the good food it became background music. So all in all a great experience if not for the lack of service and attention. I'll definitely be back for the halibut. read more

I only give it two stars because the setting is great, the band was great, the waitress Emma was great, but the food was terrible. I have been there in previous years and the food was never 5 star, but was fairly good. Last night one of our party had to send the dish back, another got cold risotto, and what was a $30 hot crab roll had minced up crab and the roll fell apart. The flavor was overpowered with butter. And the portions are very small for the prices they charge. Go for the ambiance and a drink, but eat somewhere else. read more

Shrimp and pasta well prepared but under-seasoned. Music was good but way too loud for a restaurant. It was so loud the waiter could hardly hear our order. Nice location. Server was very nice. They have a hand held unit for credit cards but added a 20% gratuity to the bill without displaying a screen showing the added gratuity, it just showed the split amount, it didn't immediately register to me that they had added a 20% tip. The person doing this was not our server. The unit was handed back to me at the gratuity screen and I chose 20% and signed it. The total of $163 didn't look right to me. It wasn't. It resulted in a $50 tip on a $113 meal. This double tip was apparently corrected as I was actually charged just the 20% tip rather than what was effectively 45%. read more

The perfect time to visit this restaurant is on a beautiful summer day with mild weather and gentle sea breezes. You are sitting on a dock right on the Long Island Sound. Drive through the Norwalk Marina, passing huge yachts, yacht companies, and fishing shops to get here. My favorite dish is the fish taco, which comes with fries. I have also tried the clam chowder, the fish and chips, and the lobster roll. I have yet to be disappointed by the food. The service was attentive and polite. The food I wasn't to impressed with it - we had fish and chips and also fried clams maybe it's because what we chose it was our first time there - but the food was very plain and the fried clams were to fried.
