Reasons I would go here is the retro theming of the place and the good service. The interiors of…read morethe place are decorated with pictures and posters from years passed. The seats also have the old school retro look. There is also a jukebox inside the diner; but unfortunately, it is just for display purposes. I asked the lady over the counter if it works, and she mentioned that it does not. While the value of the $10 promo ($10 for 2 burgers or footlong) is great, the taste of the food served is disappointing. Many of the food items and ingredients are not premium and seem like something easily available to purchase at everyday supermarkets. The burger and hotdog buns also look like the cheaper grocery kind. Good thing there was at least some level to personalizing the sandwich stuffings and sauces. What was surprising was that they did not have a veggie option. Almost all food places these days have at least some soft of vegan or meat substitute protein available in their menu. Johnny Be Good does not have any. My companion, who is a vegetarian, had to settle for a footlong sandwich without a sausage (or veggie sausage) and just compensated with it having a lot of the garnishes stuffed in. The last thing I want to mention is that when placing my order, I went with the $10 mixed burger & footlong as well as a peanut butter and chocolate sundae for dessert. Shortly after paying for my order, the server already called out and gave me the sundae. They should have at least waited a while before preparing the sundae. People should at least have time to eat their meal first before going for desserts. By the time I finished eating my burger and sandwich, my sundae had already almost melted.

Joe's Diner - Stratford ROCKS…read more Hi We frequently eat at Joe's Diner, and they never disappoint. I'm not sure if everyone knows this, but Joe's diner on Erie Street does catering for events, and WOW, My husband, Tony, was looking for a reasonably priced caterer to make sandwiches and salads and stuff for a party for me with about 30 people. He called all over town and was at a loss as to what to order and how much. Someone suggested Joe's diner. He called them. They helped him choose exactly what he needed and were very professional. They took all the worry for the party away from him and the food was delicious. Home cooked roast beef on pretzel buns and homemade turkey in the wraps and in the macaroni salad, among other delicious food. The two or three previous times he's made arrangements have resulted in lots of stress, and the kids and I going crazy to finish getting things ready. This time we were all so relaxed, everyone was raving about the it. Thanks to Joes Diner!

Simple decor, high efficiency, and no nonsense approach with delicious food, Joe's Diner checks all the above. Open for breakfast and lunch this is a popular place with no table left empty for more than a couple minutes. The waitresses are fast and all business. This isn't a place to strike up a conversation. The food is very good with extremely affordable prices. The maple syrup was served in a squeeze bottle that I typically see reserved for malt vinegar or mustard, and was a bit watery but the French Toast was delicious. It was light, fluffy, and very eggy. Was it the best I have eaten? No, but it was very good. Joe's is a great place for a quick bite at a great price point.
