This is my go-to deli in West Hampton! They never fail to make a great sandwich, whether it's one from their menu or one you create on your own. They also have a great selection of prepared foods that include some healthy options. Pro tip: Ask for their homemade turkey. I believe they only have it available for Thursday-Sunday but it's very good and much healthier than any branded cold-cut (not loaded with salt). Has a Better reputation than it actually is. First of all their back lit menu isn't lit anymore, so you can't read their specials. Second, when you do actually read their specials they're not that good. Everything seems to have 1 or 2 ingredients that turn you off. Third, their sandwiches seem to be 1 to 2 dollars more than the average deli. And lastly, one time I went there around 1pm and they didn't have any heros. A deli without heros, go figure. edit: i tried the deli again, and ordered a grill cheese and a soup. they gave me a burned grilled cheese. Like many places, the service here is as slow as a turtle. However, the sandwiches are pretty solid. I had the dagwood which came with roastbeef, turkey, ham, salami, swiss, lettuce, and tomato in a hero and it was massive. It was awesome and i downed it completely. Used to be the best place around - now its the worst. Was the gold-standard for the breakfast special since I started going in the early 80s. Been hearing how its standards have plummeted - so went for an egg sandwich today to see for myself. So bad I didn't finish it. Guy came out from the kitchen twice to ask the girl who took my order to clarify - and he still screwed it up. Tomato (yes, I get tomato on my egg sammich - some would call it sacrilege, but its really good, you should try it) had the consistency of boogie board styrofoam. Egg was as rubbery as a flip flop, the roll stale as an old beach chair. Cheese...oh wait, he forgot the damn cheese. And you have to call your financial advisor to pay for it. Never again. We went here for lunch, but called the order in ahead to avoid the wait (highly recommend this, since this place can get crowded). I had a Greek salad and a side of Saratoga Salad. My friends had wraps and sandwiches. Definitely a good size if you're hungry or even looking to share. The East Coast victory tour continues! Bad Ass deli in Westhampton Beach, NY. I had been here before, but it had had been about 2 years (it's not everyday someone from SF gets out to the Hampton's) but we hit this place 3 days in a row for breakfast sandwiches! BTW-the breakfast sandwich (deli style) is something else you cannot get in SF. Side Note: Overall, West Coast food is better than East Coast food at the high end (and at the near high end). I know there is this battle between between SF and NYC chefs right now, but I can definitely say that the food is just better on the West Coast. I don't know exactly what it is, but the food is better. (except for pizza, wings, and bagels of course!) Back to the German Deli...the unofficial name of the Sunset Court Deli. And of course: the breakfast sandwich. So the deal is this...roll in, and choose whether or not you want your sandwich on a roll or a bagel. Personally, I used to go roll, but after this weeks everything bagel, I am sticking with that program. I had the sausage, egg, and cheese on a toasted everything bagel which was literally incredible. The bagel itself was a NY bagel...awesome. The egg was done just right and the sausage was, without question, the absolute best sausage I have ever had on a breakfast sandwich. Other options are there for you should you choose...salt and pepper, ketchup, etc. But for me...sausage, egg and cheese was really all that was needed. You cannot go wrong with this place. I've been passing this deli for the past 2 years everyday on my way to work and my best friends been suggesting I try it for the longest time. So on this horrible day I decided to see if I could call ahead and ask if they could get breakfast and some coffee ready for me so I could be in and out in a matter of seconds. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they could do this! Not only was the service amazing but the food was quite possible the best thing I've ever eaten. Love this place! I did love this place, but during the summer the staff needs to be better organized with their lines to order food vs if you just need to grab a quick drink or iced tea. When everyone is in the back or making sandwiches there is no one by the register to help patrons who aren't ordering food. This leads to confusion among the customers and overall wasted time.
