BEWARE OF THE SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT!! I'm giving this dept 2 stars, only because I haven't had any issues up until my last visit. Exaxtly one week ago today, I brought my SUV in for some repairs only to find out after I left the shop that money was stolen from my dash compartment. Of course, no one will fess up to it (which I don't expect), but I haven't heard from anyone since that day. I've sent an email to Tim stating what happened who said he will forward it on to the general manager. It's been a week and crickets. Hard to trust a dealership with actually doing work on your vehicle if they can steal from it. Just beware and don't leave valuables in your vehicle. I'm very upset this happened and don't even want to return for services. Lesson learned. read more

I dropped my vehicle off at 9am on a Friday to have an oil change (free lifetime), tire rotation and my driver's exterior door handle looked at under warranty. I was told that I would hear from my service advisor by 3pm that same afternoon. I received a phone call from my service advisor a little after 2pm, but was unable to answer the phone at that time. I call back no more than 10 minutes later and spoke to a receptionist and requested to speak with my advisor. I was placed on a brief hold while the lady checked his availability. When the receptionist came back, she informed me that my service advisor was with another customer and asked if I would like to leave a message. I left a message. A while later, I still had no received a call back so I called again. I was again informed that my service advisor was busy with another customer. A second message was left. By 6pm that night, I had called a total of four times and left three messages for my service advisor. At this point, the service department is closed for the night and I have no updates nor any idea what was found to be wrong with my vehicle. I had not given any previous permission or received any assumptions that my vehicle would be kept overnight. The following day, Saturday, I called a total of three times throughout the day but had been unsuccessful with speaking to anyone. The phone would ring continuously then jump back to the initial voice menu. At the end of the day Saturday, I still had not received any information or calls about my vehicle. Sunday, the service department is closed, so I did not even try calling. Come Monday, the earliest I was able to try to contact the service department was 10am due to being at work. Just after 10am, I contacted Sunset Chevy. I spoke to the receptionist and requested to speak to my service advisor. I again was placed on a brief hold, and when the receptionist came back I was again informed that he was busy with a customer. Furthermore, I then explain briefly to the receptionist what I was going through. She stated that she would be "CCing" her manager on this message so that he is informed as well. I then had to go back to work, with the next time of me being able to check for messages or call again was 3pm that afternoon. This was passed along to the receptionist. When I checked my phone next, I found a text message from my service advisor sent around noon giving me an update on my vehicle. The fact that the vehicle was in the shop going on to its fourth day was not even acknowledged. Nor was the fact that I had left multiple unanswered messages acknowledged. Just information about what was going on with my door handle. This was when I was informed that it would be covered under warranty, but I would be responsible for a deductible as well as paying out of pocket to have their paint shop paint the door handle. I did my research and found a body matching door handle elsewhere on the internet that I can purchase and install myself for less than what they quoted me to have to pay. I informed the service advisor that I would not like to proceed with the repairs and I would like to pick the vehicle up. This is when I was informed that "since I am not going to go with the repairs, you will be responsible for the $169 diagnostics fee". When I dropped the vehicle off, they told me of this fee. I specifically asked what would make it to where I would have to pay this. I was informed that outside causes to the damages or something the warranty does not cover. At no time was it explained or insinuated that I would have to pay if I decided not to have them repair the vehicle. I felt entrapped. Either I pay for the repairs, or I pay for the diagnostics since they can't get that money from the warranty place. I requested a manager's contact information. The next day (by time I received this information it was after hours and they were closed) I contacted the manager and spoke to him over the phone. After a round about conversation where I received no answers as to why I had not received any notification or call backs for three and a half days, the manager stated that he would try and make it to where all I have to pay is the deductible. Out of frustration and just done with this whole process, I agreed to this. The vehicle was not completed until 11 days after I initially dropped it off. Even then, the door handle paint job looks poorly done. The gloss of it is different from the rest of the vehicle, and it doesn't have the metallic flakes to it like the rest of the paint. When I roll the driver's window down, it can clearly be heard hitting and dragging alongside something. I had contacted my service advisor and still haven't heard back from him 2 days later at the time of this review. At no time during all of this did I receive an apology or explanation as to why it took so long to get an update about my vehicle. read more

This business consistently SPAMs Craigslist with car ads that contain no pricing information. Their link back to their website also contains no pricing information or vehicle data such as Carfax. If you chat with their rep on their website, they will claim to have no access to pricing details. Calling them on the phone results in high pressure sales tactics to get the client to the lot in the middle of nowhere (Sumner) at all costs. Sunset sold us a lemon! Bought a 2012 equinox after a minor accident in January 2020. We wanted a reliable vehicle. There is issues with oil consumption. Went 2500 miles from oil change and car sounded like crap. Checked oil level and there was no oil on the dipstick. Dumped two quarts of oil in car and still had no oil showing. They started to do an oil consumption test but would not let us see what they were recording. Took to Good Chevrolet who completed oil consumption test and let us keep paperwork. Uses over six quarts of oil in less than six thousand miles! Chevy has stated that this is "normal"?!? I am scared that engine will blow up. How can this not be a lemon. Will never buy another GM product. read more

We had out ac go out and sunset said there was a leak in our system and it would cost $2800 to fix it. We told them we had a warranty that cover almost everything. They found something that wasn't covered by the warranty. Since then, we went to Point S in sumner and they said our clutch wasn't engaging and it was covered by our warranty. We ended up only paying our deductible for our warranty there which was $300. So, don't know for certain what was going on at Sunset, but it sounds like they are all messed up. After an hour we asked for our keys and registration twice and she kept putting us off. Finally my spouse had to raise his voice and demand our items. She saidwe were looking fir a unicorn and she needed more time. We left very upset... Drove to another lot, found what we wanted exactly and bought it within an hour. I'm 56 and have dealt with a lot of car salesman over my years Steve Bishop at Sunset Chevrolet is by far the best salesman I've ever worked with. He worked with me for over 5 months while I was trying to Dicide on a truck or if I was going to even buy one or not. He never once put any pressure on me or the hard sell which I totally appreciate so much. I HATE pushy sells men... He answered any and all questions I had and and spent the time to go over all my options. When I finally pulled the trigger he spent the time helping make sure I was All set up with on star and knew how to link my phone up to the truck and use everything. I bought a 2024 Silverado 3500HD Duramax from Sunset Chevy last May. The truck has thrown multiple check engine lights that put my truck into LIMP MODE, unlock/lock button on door handle stopped working, remote start stopped working, rear proximity sensors stopped working, and the truck wont connect to a trailer so it wont send power to the brake lights (service lady said new chevy's wont connect to old trailers). At the end of the day they said they pay off the loan and exchange my truck for a new one however i have to re-apply for the loan. So I get punished because they sold me a lemon. How is that right?! I said what if my credit dropped since getting this truck and i dont qualify for a loan anymore and the General Manager Tyler Foss said "Well then you dont get a new truck.". How crappy of a response is that? I guess they have no compassion working hard to get nicer things in life. PS the trailer lights GM has no fix for yet but has acknowledged it and the check engine lights is a clogged DPF so you have to drive it back to the dealer for them to do a forced regen...GM ALSO DOESNT HAVE A FIX FOR THAT ONE EITHER BUT KNOWS ABOUT IT. Some other fun facts, my car salesman cleared a code in the parking lot so they pretend like that doesnt count towards my attempts to get the truck fixed. You can call and call and call and they will hang up on you when you finally get through and you are frustrated. Nobody will call you back. Tyler Foss did once after i called over 15 times over a WEEK so I bet he will respond to this saying that he tried and I didnt answer. I look at all these times Tyler (Das T) has reponded below to people like he and this business actually cares but he and Sunset dont. Its just an act to get you in the door. Also, if you dont like the way Tyler Foss manages the store and you try and go to his boss he will refuse to give you any contact info for him (personal or work contact info)...isn't that right Tyler :) He refuses to give you his email, cell, or even work times so that you wont come on down to talk to his boss Phil Mitchell (the owner). Tyler and Sunset, I hope you people aren't religious because there is no way you're making it through those gates after doing all these horrible things to customers. He goes above and beyond to make sure I am treated right. I had an Issue with my truck in the service department so I called him up and he took care of everything. If you buy from Vanis he will take care of you years after you buy from him. I will only buy my Vehicles from Vanis at Sunset and the free oil changes for life is hard to beat! read more

Visited this dealership for the second time. Both experiences were bad. The first time was about ten years ago so I thought I would try them again maybe there would be better customer service. After driving two hours the first time the vehicle I was going to look at sold the night before and I was never called and told about it . Now recently I went to look at a vehicle and drove again two hours to find a damaged vehicle. This was not ok . My time does have value and just trying to get customers in the door is not good . I'm going to warn people of the awful experience I had with Sunset Chevrolet. Ordered a vehicle in February and was told it would take between 3 to 5 months to arrive, but I was willing to wait, because I was very excited and this was the first new vehicle that I had ever special ordered and put $1000 deposit on it. About 3 months go by and I called my salesman to ask if there were any updates on the my order and he told me he hadn't heard anything. In the meantime, while I'm waiting, I had seen 4 of the almost exact vehicle I ordered on dealership lots around the area, but ignored purchasing, because I had one on order. Finally my girlfriend calls the dealership a week ago and I'm told I'm not getting my vehicle, sat there in silence for a few moments in disbelief after 5 months of waiting. Went down to the dealership to get my $1000 Deposit back and talked to one of the higher ups there, he told me as soon as he saw the order back in February, he knew there was NO! chance I was getting my vehicle, but they thought it better to just string me along for 5 months and then ultimately experience the absolute worst car buying experience I could have imagined and this dealership is an example of why people despise Car salesmen. Had they been honest and told me back in February that my order wasn't going to get fullfilled, I would have been completely fine, but they just figured it was better to string someone along, but Hey! they have their commercials about being Washingtons best dealership and draw you in with their LIfetime Oil changes and Powertrain Warranty for life BS, but what they don't tell you is their Customer service department and staff stinks and being a Customer doesn't mean anything to them. A kind of happy ending to a really bad experience with Sunset Chevrolet, I found a vehicle that was about 98% of what I ordered Sunset and I'm buying it. Just wanted to expose Sunset for what they are. I'm just one disgruntled customer of this Dealership of many and this review won't affect this dealerships sales, but just be warned, if you order something from them, you might get the circle jerk runaround they gave me and be soured for life towards them like I am. read more

Updated 11/13/18 below. ***BEWARE*** ***BEWARE*** ***BEWARE*** This place is a joke. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM! We bought a 2013 GMC Acadia 6/23/18. Issue #1: Alternator failing less than 2 weeks from buying the vehicle and was told manager would contact me to work something out. Have checked back several times in the past month but still no follow up. We finally ended up having replace locally which cost is $589.16. Issue #2: I have not received signed copies of our purchase after mailing back all the signed papers (we had to mail since my wife was not there at time of purchase and she needed to sign as well). Was told copies would be mailed back after we returned them. Never received. Issue #3: Was promised the vehicle would come with a full tank of gas as part of the sale. Sale took longer to wrap up than expected and were in hurry to get home (2 hours away) and didn't notice car had on 1/8 tank after 15 minutes away. We didn't have time to go back so filled up costing $62.67 to fill up. Called sunset on way home and was told would send me gas card. Never received. Issue #4: Was promised sunset would mail a paint pen to repair a large chip in the paint on the door molding that wasn't in the advertised pictures which happened in detailing before we arrived. Never received. Issue #5: Windshield leaks water on to passenger floor when rains. Issue #6: headlights randomly turned on at 3am and drained battery. I want to write a review for Sunset Chevrolet service department. I had my 2006 Chevy Cobalt in for service. They replaced two sensors and a spark plug charged me $800. I picked up the car yesterday now today I have other issues with the check engine light when I picked up the car I was hoping that it would all be fixed not just a couple things,and Had my vehicle there over 2 weeks doing this. I myself would not recommend having your vehicle work done at Sunset Chevrolet in Sumner. Granted I would be the first one to pull this review from Yelp if they would fix my car completely and let me have it back in a timely manner. I do feel like this is the classic stigma a dealership has, take your vehicle there to have it worked on and your going to pay twice as much as a smaller shop and get worse results. read more

The only reason I gave one star, is because there is no choice for none. I took my wife 2016 Suburban in for a couple very simple service issues. I was getting an engine code and a small plastic trim piece had fallen off and the Fan knob for air and heat was not working. They kept the car and ran diagnostics. Then called me and gave an estimate of several thousand dollars. Thinking they'd made a mistake, I called to try to get it straightened out. Having read the engine code, it said it was an injector issue, The service tech, informed me I needed all new Fuel Injectors. I asked, are they all bad?? His answer was: We replace them all, when we get this code. The Suburban had 77,000 miles on it. I told them to proceed with the fan knob, but leave the injectors alone, as that was the meat and potatoes of where the $$ were in their quote breakdown. Then the car sat for 6 days. I called again, to find out when it would be ready and they said it was ready now. Upon arriving, I noticed the plastic trim piece was not installed...and that's when they informed me, they'd done nothing. Since I rejected their offer to replace all the Fuel Injectors, I could just take the car. I took the car and complained to the Service Manager and did get my diagnostic fee waived. This is where it got interesting. I went home and researched the code and while it does mention injectors, lots of tech's suggested it was more likely an Air Filter, causing the stumble and we had been through a month of terrible smokey weather for the last 6 weeks. For Good measure, I put liquid Fuel Injector Cleaner into the fuel tank and filled it up. I then changed the Air Filter and cleared the codes. The truck drives like its brand new now. No engine codes in the last 11,000 miles, accelerates like a beast and gets 20-21 routinely. The Service people are liars, in my opinion. They should know enough about their products that some dude in his back yard does. I love our Suburban but if you want a great dealer...Go to Gamblin motors in Enumclaw. They are top rate by comparison. These people were all too happy to give me a line of BS excuses. Rather than treat a customer fairly...they are extremely focused on profit, profit, profit. I don't mind the folks at Gamblin's making a penny, because they treat you like family, their technical staff, offers advice and genuinely care to see the problem solve. I will buy my future vehicle from Gamblin...and I hope Sunset learns to have their people tell the customer the truth, rather than attempt to rip us off, with lies and BS. read more

My truck with 25000 miles has been in and out of the shop for 3 1/2 months for warranty work, one month for a bad thermostat, and 2.5 months for a leaking oil cooler and broken cluster, all within the last 12 months. After missing our vacation to go camping, I decided to have the truck towed out of Sunset Chevrolet. When I called in to ask if I owed anything so I could have the truck towed, The service department stated that I could have my broken cluster shipped back and installed within three days, and I would get a call when the part came in. I called weekly for 2 1/2 months, mentioning the vacation multiple times, Offering to pay extra for a higher-end cluster, and offering to purchase a used cluster. "I was told that wasn't an option," and not once was shipping the cluster back for a later repair mentioned. I spoke with an employee outside of the service department, and the individual stated my issues are common and that it's a GM issue. This truck was my first purchase from Sunset, and it's been a long time since I've purchased any GM product, and it'll most likely be my family's last. read more

This is the most ridiculous service team I've ever felt with. First off on 12/16 I had an oil change and tire rotation. After receiving my vehicle back I noticed the TPMS light was on and my display was not reading tire pressure. Obviously as any customer would be I had my concerns, went back in and asked what was going on with it and the service advisor told me there is nothing that can be done. I was very confused and disappointed that I bring my vehicle in for a routine service and leave with warning lights on. I then called the Service manager (Theron) and he set up an appt for 12/27 to get this issue resolved. Once again the terrible service team wasted my time!! Nothing was fixed and the techs did another oil change and tire rotation. The worst part is I had the same service advisor (Brendan Coleman) both encounter's. He tried to charge me for another oil change that I just paid for a week prior. I'm in utter shock with every single interaction I've had and Sunset Chevrolet!!! Tried to set an appointment on their website for an oil change and it put me out over a month. Call them and I pretty much got the appointment time and day I needed. Arrived early for the appointment, they were able to get me right in. No one smiled. It looked like ever service advisor was having a bad day. No friendly banter, no smiles, it felt like I was inconveniencing them. After I was seated in the waiting room, the techs came out and updated me with things that needed to be fixed, running lights and a can air filter. The techs were friendly and helpful. In the end, it wasn't a bad experience. They did a good job and I don't feel like I was cheated or overcharged. read more

If I could give no stars I would. I will never be back. They tried to sell me a vehicle 7k over priced but yet wanted to only give me face value for my Lexus. Once I called back to ask why we didn't bluebook the vehicle I wanted to buy and only did it with my vehicle. The horrible answer I received is beyond me. That vehicle could have sold no more then what it's actual value is which in return would have made my trade very possible. As I was on the phone with the sales rep.. I over heard another sales guy yelling back at me (I'm not on the phone with him.. mind you) saying I should go buy from someone else. What really confuses me in all of this.. how has Sunset Chevrolet been in business this long and allowing these types of employees to represent them. I've never been so over looked and not respected as a customer so badly! Do not give sunset your time or money!!!! There are actual dealerships out there that listen and will work together with you! To General Manager, The purpose of this letter is to inform you of the blatant disregard some of your employees exhibited towards the handling of a new vehicle dealer trade and purchase of our 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe, from your Sunset Chevrolet Dealership during the month of July 2017. From the onset, your team exhibited a lack of attention to confirming location of a vehicle, incorrect and questionable product knowledge and incompetence in the ability to execute a purchase in a timely and correct manner. Throughout our experience of purchasing and leasing vehicles over the years, never have we felt so miss-guided or un-informed. Never have we felt like the retailer squarely put the bourdon of misfortune upon us, making it seem like you were doing us a favor, when in fact you were caught putting the cart before the horse, a completely unethical business practice. You take pride in your dealership as being the largest volume dealer in the state, but what you fail to address with that trumpet is how you treat those customers ounce you have them in the front door. That is a poor business model and one that can eventually come to hurt your customer retention, because referrals and positive reviews can be huge factor in your line of work. To our end, there has never been a formal apology/consolation offered for our valuable time lost dealing with your dealership during 6 visits in 4 weeks. So I guess Sunset Chevrolet in Sumner, WA feels it is good customer service to blame their customers for letting them rip you off, at least they admit they sell vehicles for more money than their competitors which is why they deserve 1 star. What they didn't admit is they lied about the cost of the truck they sold me, I was assurred that I was paying 7.5% over dealer cost and told this was below MSRP, yet I paid almost $2600.00 over MSRP. Without the truck being on their lot I had no way of knowing they were lying, so yes, my fault for trusting that they would tell the truth. They lied from the beginning about almost everything, I have screen shots of all the conversations. Here is their response to my BBB complaint. In response to the statement by Cheryl Ellison. Yes she purchased a vehicle that was in transit from the factory, and yes it was a vehicle that was purchased for her by Sunset Chevrolet from Auburn Chevrolet. Ms. Ellison was informed about the price and signed all of the paperwork including a contract and purchase order on the vehicle. If purchasing the vehicle for MSRP was important to Ms. Ellison that would have been a conversation to have prior to signing paperwork and having the vehicle purchased for her. We have fully disclosed that the vehicle was coming from the factory and from Auburn Chevrolet, as well as our asking price for the vehicle. Sunset trucks that used to be on River Road sold me a piece of shit truck with so many problems that when I called them out on it they were fused to help me and when I took the truck to other sunset dealerships that were tied to sunset trucks I got no help and told that I was banned from the dealerships on several occasions. I do not recommend buying the eagles from these dealerships any of them. The managers will promise you the fucking moon and the stars and then never deliver on anything and they tell you or promise you. The owner of the Sunset dealerships should be fucking ashamed of himself that one of his dealerships and the sales people treated a customer the way that I was treated but I doubt that's gonna happen because I'm pretty sure he doesn't know what shame is. read more

He had the car ready when I arrived at the dealership for a test drive, and all my questions were answered. The price of the car was great and priced below the market and cargurus/bluebook value! You can tell they really want to win your business! I was really impressed. No hustle with the financing and I was in and out the dealership for less than 2 hours (seriously!) My car was detailed, and delivered to my house?! What else can you ask for? Will definitely recommend to all the car buyers out there. read more

Not only is this shop falling apart, your lead lube tech gives out information of leaks that aren't getting fixed how is a multi millions company not taking care of the shop maintenance and you guys expect to take your vehicles there to get proper maintenance it's a joke. Now the employees there, what employees? The lead lube tech that is always the last standing on the lube rack. Cause Tim sure knows how to fire a lot of employees. I hope this post reaches higher ups and people that have thought it's ok to take their vehicles here and I hope these people save the headache and hassle and just go somewhere else. I bought a used truck and purchased window tinting to be done at a later date. I made It very clear I'd only purchase if it could be done on the weekend. I was told not an issue they tint weekends. I was called to set up an appointment and was told the window tinter doesn't work weekends. They didn't have an issue lying and taking my money. Great response to online inquirie. So made a day of going to look at newer 6.7 diesel F 350 quad cab SD. Had my map and the 4 I was most interested in. So went here to Sunset first because I had an appointment. Got there they checked out my truck 1999 f 350 7.3 quad cab.lifted and all the extras that you can do to a 7.3. Was just time to go modern. They brought me a truck and was not the one I went to look at no biggie, took it for a spin it was ok but it vibrated and sunroof leaked wind while driving no big deal they can fix the rep kept saying you have warranty for life. Then I said I want to see one I came here for, they went and got it brought over, much nicer cleaner smoother drive. So the negotiation begins and the price they had was low to mid 30s they say I never saw a price listed. That was not going to work for me I had a price I was sticking to whether it is here or there. And every time I said here is one of the others I am going to be looking at today and the price was a bit less priced at 27999 I would get that lower and then my trade, I would be right where I want to be but the rep kept saying but you dont get the warranty for life and free oil changes. Sounding good but still need to be lower. Warranty is good and all but I know that does not cost them that much $ to offer that but is great for client.so we keep negotiating and we get down some still more than I want to be, but my rep kept pushing that lifetime warranty, and that's not going to be on any of other trucks I'm looking at, I would need to purchase that ontop of those prices. They really pushed that warranty and I bought it,well the truck a bit more than I wanted but warranty for life. I'm good. So we walk over to finance and I wait In waiting area for my turn, then my rep comes and tells me that my truck is not covered for warranty for life, because it was a tad over 100000 miles that's nothing for a diesel. And rep said rep did not know that it was not covered, sorry I was pissed but sucked it up and said I want oil changes for life, rep left and returned and said for this price, I dont even drive that many miles per year not worth it. Right then I should have walked, that was my reps big thing was the warranty and convinced me of that which I agreed on nd I like it to. Then the finance guy try's to sell me a warranty. I love my new F 350 SD 6.7 quad cab diesel. But if it breaks I wont be for that price negotiation that my rep pushed and kept me from shopping around before I made a purchase. I should have walked when I was told rep did not know it was not covered after I was there all day and that's all that place could talk about,they would say it's a big savings if something goes bad. And I liked that. So I should have went else where and at least I would have seen others out door prices I think I could have done better elsewhere, I could have bought a truck in the 25-28 range and still had my trade in heck even the one I showed sales rep at Tacoma for a 2014 same as mine but 2 years newer with a backup camera which rep said this had ,does have the option there but no camera a radio that only connects to I phones not Samsung and the one key I was give is broke it wont lock truck and need 2 active keys to be able to program myself. unless I go to ford and cost 160 for key and cut then schedule a appt to get keys programmed to truck.I know my fault for not saying we need to renegotiate since no warranty,that I was told from start. So on me. So watch the lifetime warranty.I think since it went as far as finance before being told that not covered and I was already pre approved from my credit union ,if they were as reputable of a dealership as they state they are.they should have just covered it, the cost to them is pennies.They sure are proud of there awards though. My rep was great,rep just made a mistake not knowing this vehicle was not covered, and should have at that point made it right.but again on me for not walking, I just wonder what was up with this truck and why it did not qualify just fo being barely over miles, and rep did tell me that they had this on lot for like 60- 90 day I cant remember all I had on my mind was no worries, then I got worried when told sorry I was wrong it is not covered and was a way better truck than firt one I drove there and it only had like 12 miles less and you could tell it was alot more abused than this one. So kept me distracted with warranty for life and sold me on it and then took it right back after we had agreed. Any honest dealership or business would have backed it, especially after spending all day there and agreeing to buy there because of warranty. read more

I've been playing games with these people for 4 years. Every time I come in here I just expect wait hours for something simple. I bought two cars here because I wanted the lifetime services and it was close to my house. Everything after you buy the car is a gaggle of kids trying to figure out what they are supposed to be doing. When you schedule an appointment for services make sure you check, double check, and triple check that it's going to happen because they will forget to enter it into the system. If your ever want to get a new car here just expect to be ignored while you are on the lot, the sales people seem more interested in hanging out by the doors vaping and socializing with each other than making a sale. You should probably just go somewhere else where they seem more motivated to make and keep new customers read more

My dream car purchase was ruined by this dealership. I purchased a used Corvette in Sept 2022 from Sunset Chevy in Sumner. The car immediately started having issues. This was a $60K+ car, not something you expect to have happen at that price point. After a few days of driving it, we called to get an appointment to get it checked out. We were told 3 weeks for an appt (the start of the frustration, but we understood). At the appt, we were told it was the torque converter and we would have to get it replaced (warranty covered) - great no problem. But then they had the car for 3 months. Horrible communication. During the 3 months they gave us a loaner, which was a car they had on the lot for sale. It broke down a few days later. They had to tow back. They gave us a new loaner, also needed work but at least it ran (this was a car they had on the lot to sell too). After months of chasing them for the date when the car would be complete, I finally reached out to their GM. He was responsive at first and promised two months of car payments to make up for the massive headaches this caused my family. Then I left message after message after email to get a hold of him to make good on his promise. After SIX months of nothing, I finally had to talk to a corporate person I got the name for on an advertiment I received in my email. Then that person got him to call me back. He said he was surpised the check was not issued yet and get it to me soon. Another month went by and I still had nothing. Called again and he said he would get it out. Finally received the check, it was only for one month. I gave in.....you win. I will never buy a car here again and I write this review in hopes they change their practices for those who do. "Sunset has you covered with Warranty Protection for Life." This is their Claim and what they advertise!!! Actually bunch of BS. First let me educated the Consumer this is a 3 party warranty you pay for in purchase of the car!!! The Dealership is trying to look good with false advertisement. My family has bought 9 cars in the last 8 years apparently my loyalty dose not equal their loyalty to me. My 2014 GMC Sierra transmission just went out. I've done all the required oil changes and any of the required manufactured updates that the service writer has informed me of. Unfortunately, the service department missed to inform me of my 90k Transmission update. Therefore, the 3rd party warranty company has denied my claim. After being loyal for almost a decade the best could do was offer me a new transmission at Their cost $ 4000 to me!!! CONSUMER EDUCATE YOURSELVES WITH THE WARRANTY SMALL PRINT!!!a Dealership is not your advocate!!! Just lost all future business from Family and friends. There have been a couple gals that have not been that great. So, if it was not for the men at the service counter, we would be giving a lower rating. However, every one of the guys (Scott, Kevin, Jake, Don, Tim, Ian)we have interacted with for service on our 2012 Tahoe (purchased in 2013) has been outstanding. They have appeared slammed at times but doesn't affect there demeanor with the customers. Any issues we have had, they have taken care of it and us. Also, Sean was a joy to purchase from. My Husband and I (who was 8 months pregnant at time) loved that he wasn't pushy, which is one reason I personally try to avoid eye contact with anyone selling anything. Sean answered our questions and we didn't feel pressure. The whole transaction was smooth and stress free. We love our rig. It's been reliable & safe. We were in a little while ago looking at Tahoe's and decided on the one we wanted to purchase. When we came inside the Salesman immediately handed us over to his manager for the "negotiations" and went outside in the covered area to have a smoke with the other five guys out there. After speaking with the manager we were unfortunately not able to come to an agreement on price. My husband gave the manager his business card which he also gave to the salesman shook his hand and we left. On the way out we passed the salesman smoking outside and he did not mutter a word to us. The sales manager was high pressure which I get Being in sales myself however I also understand fair. I could not believe that they had my husbands business card yet we never heard from them as a follow up at all. We ended up heading over to Good where we were treated with respect and purchased a new Yukon. read more

I purchased a used vehicle from Sunset. I understand used vehicles will have shortcomings from time to time and you should always pay close attention when inspecting & test driving before buying, however you assume a dealer has some minimum standards. During the test drive the vehicle smoked a little under the hood as they'd over-sprayed the engine polish on the exhaust manifold, there were a few small cosmetic issues in the interior and a small blemish in the paint on the back hatch. They were asking nearly $3K over KBB value for the vehicle, however in spite of their repeated high-pressure efforts I insisted on paying the KBB quoted value for the vehicle. On the second day driving it the transmission slipped twice, the engine smoking issue turned out to be a leaking valve cover gasket and the paint literally blew off the top of the vehicle in large pieces the first time I washed it with a garden hose. I had the transmission flushed twice which appears to have fixed the slipping issue and I replaced all the gaskets & seals on the top of the engine and replaced the spark plugs & ignition coils while at it, however I finally decided I'd had enough when I quoted a quality repaint. So glad I didn't give an inch on the purchase price. In the end I paid KBB value for a vehicle which quickly needed $2K+ in repairs. I traded it in 2 months later and chalked the rather heavy loss up to lessons learned. read more
