I have not set foot in the salon for two years and they have been charging me since July without my knowledge. I was informed I could cancel after a month. However these scummy con artists continued to charge my credit card even though I never used their service once. They are always willing to help accommodate us on our appointments and bend over backwards to make all the clients happy. Bright, clean, big rooms. The design is great because you never feel like you're in some narrow hallway or tucked away closet. Plus the service was fantastic. I have been going to Sunscape for the last 3 years now because my girlfriend had recommended me (the Yaletown location) and I've been hooked ever since! The staff is knowledgeable, they always recommend the best length of time in the beds so I don't burn. I've been hearing about the new trend of spray tans... And yes I was skeptical of trying the spray tan because I thought I would go orange and I was uncomfortable of another person spray tanning me, they made me feel so comfortable for the level of colour to choose and to top it off it was a machine so I was worried for nothing! The colour looks good, and I was not streaky or orange at all going to the Bahamas! I've lived in white rock/south Surrey for 5 years and tanned everywhere across Canada for more than a decade. This one is a very nice facility with top quality beds. It is very close to where I live so I've gone there a lot over the last 5 years, for spray tans and UV tans, in preparation for photoshoots and fitness competitions. Of the positive experiences I've had, they've been five star.. unfortunately the negative experiences outnumber them. I've booked spray tan appointments (only because i was unable to get to Solar Flare in Burnaby in time) only to arrive and learn that the versa spa was broken multiple times.. I've tried to give them my money for promotions sent to my email account, and the poor girl at the desk has no clue about it, and whoever her boss is, never answers their phone. I feel bad for the front desk girls. They are always young and polite and visibly embarrassed at the state of the store they work for. Luckily Eleni Banakas at Solar Flare at Market Crossing in Burnaby is amazing and beyond accommodating. I'll happily continue driving 25 minutes for the top notch customer service and quality. read more

Great facilities & uninformed staff. I've tanned here in the winter months and always had a great experience. Nice facilities, clean, and easy to book. With recent package and pricing changes, it made sense to commit to a monthly package. When I went to cancel it, the staff assured me it was stopped. Fast forward to next month, I was charged. I went back in and asked for it to be stopped, and I was assured it was stopped. Fast forward to next month, charged again. I emailed head office and they explained it is up to me to get written confirmation that it's cancelled. OK. Since I was unable to quote the day, time, and staff name when I cancelled I am stuck with the charges. The onus is on you to be more informed than the staff. In short, great place to tan but don't give them your credit card. read more

Sunless spray tan booth is either broken or out of spray. My friend got a spray tan in August, a level 3, and said it felt like it wasn't spraying anything and she didn't get a tan from it. I went to get one at the end of September and the exact same thing happened to me. I emailed to inform them of this and they wouldn't acknowledge my concern let alone give an apology. :( I've been going here for years. I'll be going somewhere els now :( :( read more

While the studio itself is fine without being anything special, we have had a terrible time trying to cancel our membership. Had to pay 2 extra months because we didn't read the small print, then 5 weeks later they came back requesting another month's membership. You cannot call them to discuss any issues and the assistant in the store tried to help but was unable to clarify anything. Any company that is unwilling to speak with their customers should be avoided. Try somewhere else, and always check the small print. read more

I've had nothing but trouble with the South Surrey location. I was warned by 2 of my friends of all sorts of accounting difficulties they encountered with this business (NSF charges etc. etc. when there was sufficient funds in their accounts). I should have listened!!!! I thought, Oh I'll be okay because I'll use my credit card and won't use debit thereby allowing this company access to my bank account. Well I should have listened. Forearmed is forewarned. It all started for me this month when I got an email from them stating: "We were unable to process this months payment for your SunScape Club membership. The billing information we have on file is being rejected and your account currently has an outstanding balance..." (No other business has had trouble processing my credit card.) I've gone into the Salon twice to try to resolve this and sent emails almost daily. I am met with ignorance and stupidity. I've repeatedly requested a phone call from Kelly Kerr or anyone in head office so that we can straighten this out. No one will call back, they just send anonymous emails and don't take any responsibility for their faulty accounting system. read more

I have been going to this location since about February 2009 when they first opened up. We have always had great service by the workers and everyone has been very effecient. I love the sundash monthly promo which allows me to do unlimited tanning for around $25/month... can't beat that. Only thing I would mention about Sunscape is that when they advertise specials, they never advertise with the small print, so that you have to go there and then you find out you can't use it because they didn't say on the advertising what the limitations where. So always phone and ask about the fine print about any promo. I plan on being a client for as long as we live nearby. read more

I have been a loyal customer for about 4 years now. Love the sunless tan however this place has the WORST customer service. I always have an ongoing package with sunscape and recently my credit card was compromised so the company had to cancel it. At the exact same time my sunscape fees were supposed to come out but obviously rejected since my credit card was cancelled so that no more fraudulent activity would happen . I explained this to the customer service people and they told me too bad , I have to pay the $25 rejection fee no matter what. Also that since the packages are discounted (of course because you sign up to commit to 1 year of payments) So they needed the rejection fee to make up for the small discount im getting on a monthly package ???wtf WOW are they that hurting they cant make any exceptions even for a loyal client??? Unfriendly , unhelpful rude customer service. Never sign up for a package unless you want to pay high fees. read more
