My Mom and I had a great lunch here. It's been a good while since I had Sun's and it was my Mom's first time. I like how you can order as soon as you walk in on a computer. It was a quick and easy process. It was impersonal but I guess that is how technology is changing things. We ordered and sat ourselves. I tried the mango drink and it was really delicious!!! We ordered the dumpling platter, lamb and beef skewers, the don don noodles I believe and I got the lunch special with the spicy chicken. Everything was SO GOOD!!! My mom ate all of here food and loved it. I really enjoyed every thing too. I need to come here more often, there's a lot of other dishes I would love to try!!! It's so just super cute inside, I love their decor.

Sun's chicken was great, definitely going to have to get it again soon. The service was also very good and quick to the table. The inside was beautifully decorated with cherry blossoms very cute. I wish the parking situation was a bit better, but that's not their fault.

Xiao Long Bao (5/5): Great soup dumplings that were very juicy and flavorful. No spilled out soup either. Ma-La Dried Peppers Chicken (4/5): The flavor was a little cumin-heavy, but I still enjoyed it. The chicken itself wasn't too spicy and it was nice to regulate the level of spice by how much of the peppers I ate. Dan Dan Noodles (4/5): These noodles had a better texture than the noodles in the beef noodle soup. The pork was good, and I liked the hint of sweetness in the dish. Braised Beef Noodle Soup (4/5): Classic beef noodle soup flavor. The beef was very good. The noodles were a little soggy. Sweet Sausages (3/5): Not the hard, sweet Chinese sausage I was hoping for. There was also a lot of cumin on it which wasn't my favorite. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this) Note: Not really meant for dining in. Our food was all served in takeout containers.

I'm a meat eater, but I love their Su Dan Dan (tofu/mushroom mix instead of ground pork). Goes perfectly with a hard boiled egg if you're eating at home. Chili oil sauce comes packed separately, so you can add as much or as little as you like to achieve that famous Sichuan mouth numbing feeling

I came here with my mom and i got the jianbing guozhi and it was pretty good. The only thing is the outside was pretty soggy and usually with jian bing in general the outside is a bit crispier. My mom got the breakfast combo which came with a soy bean milk, the taiwanese donut, and some soup dumplings. They were good and the soy milk was very authentic.

I ordered from this place not realizing I had been here before until I checked in for the review. Unsurprisingly, I seem to have ordered the same thing. The reason I didn't realize is that they have left their ghost kitchen roots behind and opened a full dine-in location of their own, which I am happy to endorse. The parking was a little limited and is shared with other things, but seating was ample and airy. They have decent vegetarian options. I was fooled by the fact that the noodles I got had a separate sauce. The flavor with the accoutrements they came with was not bad, but the sauce, which I missed until I had wrapped up those noodles, was a powerful, numbing and salty creation. It's a small menu and one high in sodium, but I enjoy it and it's more specific than average Chinese taekout. I wish them the best in their new digs.

Ambiance is great, bright, modern, clean. Everything is ordered via a kiosk or through your phone, very little interaction with staff but the staff were friendly. Food was a bit disappointing, flavors were bland and all the dishes had a weird seasoning which can be clearly seen on the skewer flight and eggplant. The wonton soup which I did not get a photo of was delicious and I would come back and try their other soups. I was truly hopeful for this place but left extremely disappointed and for $120 for these dishes + tip (which is prompted upon ordering) I expected decent dimsum.

Super sweet customer service! They bring you water with your meals but we did order the watermelon and mango jasmine rice drinks and they are soooo good! I got the beef stew and potato's meal with cucumber and eggplant! Was super yummy and my boy friend got the lamb and rice meal which he loved as well! We also got the pork dumplings which were hands down my favorite and would have gotten more if I could eat more lol with the vinegar soy sauce and the garlic sauce. We will definitely be coming back and the food was out super quick too!

So when I first walked in, of course there wasn't a waitstaff. This place is the type where you sit where you want to and order on the tablet. It's a self serving place. They share parking with other businesses. But I'm sure there's plenty of parking spaces available. The place is cute and there are plenty of tables to sit at. They have a pretty good bit of items on their menu. The price is pretty comparable. The food is good. Nothing else I can say about it. Would come here again. I also got the chicken feet and it was delicious as well.

Went here on a Saturday night, the parking lot for this center was packed and hard to find parking, I think it is because of the sport bar on top of the restaurant. The decor for this place is pretty and felt clean. It is simple and felt great. The concept is simple grab a table and order your food on your phone and they will bring you the food. Although ordering your food on the phone seems not much interaction with the staff, but I felt the staff cares and bring out the food quickly. The food was brought out in more to go style and able to throw away plates. The food tasted great. I ordered the beef noodle soup, I think this is one of the best beef noodle soup in Charlotte. All the other food tasted great. The price is a little high, but I will come back for the beef noodle soup.

First of all the parking is plentiful! The restaurant is modern and gorgeous inside. When you walk in you place your order at one of the kiosks. Ordering is simple and easy. Don't forget to grab your table number stand. Food came out quick and was delivered with a friendly smile. There is a station stocked with all the necessities- utensils, to go boxes and bags. I ordered the watermelon beverage, which was fresh and refreshing, the bbq bao buns, which were decent, not great, and the ja jang noodles, which were flavorful, but I don't think I would order again. My friend and I went during mid-autumn festival and each patron had the option to get a complimentary slice of moon cake, which I thought was a nice touch! I can't want to go back and try their dumplings and Dan Dan noodles! Overall, I enjoyed the food and experience and am looking forward to my next visit!

Braised Beef Noodle Soup 红烧牛肉面

The Food- The Ambience- The Service- I visited this place from out of town and the food was so dang good, I almost ordered a second helping of the eggplant dish just to bring back to Va. I didn't even get a picture of it because I was in a trance. I also had the braised beef noodle soup (pictured), top tier please visit this place. I'm plotting my next outing JUST to go here. I am a foodie at heart. My friend had the Ma-La Dried Peppers Chicken, that was also incredible. Everything has sooooo much flavor. The eggplant was hands down the best I've ever had in my life. Go on their website, the food looks just like the pictures in real life. It's also super clean inside. Just go, you won't be disappointed !

Ma La Cucumber Vegan, highly recommend. The sauce is amazing and this is an easy dish to share

I heard about this place through social media and wanted to try. There is parking which is a plus! They have you order through a kiosk at the front and a server brings you the food. Our sever was amazing! I ordered the crème brûlée and instead of bringing all the food out at once he waited until we finished eating to bring our dessert. The food was ok, I wasn't in love but it wasn't bad either. In the city of Charlotte there are so many amazing restaurants to try and sadly this one doesn't stick out in my mind. I wish there was more ability to customize our food such as lowering the sugar content in the tea or having a sauce on the side with the potatoes. If I do come back I will definitely order the cucumbers again, those were the star of the meal!

Excellent! We ordered through Grub Hub based on Yelp reviews. Beef and Dry Noodles were fantastic! We will be ordering in the future.

It was pushing 97 degrees outside, and after a long afternoon of computer work and errands, I finally stopped in for the crispy scallion chicken and pan-fried dumplings. Huge portions. Fair prices. Friendly people. Consistently solid food every single time. The best part today honestly might have been the air conditioning. They've got a cool, comfortable space to wait while your order is prepared, which felt amazing after baking outside all day. I forgot to take food photos because I was hungry and ready to get home, but trust me, they pack these takeout containers like a game of Jenga. Nothing spills. Nothing shifts. Everything is packed tight and thoughtfully. Only tiny downside: the dumpling sauce goes into the same container as the hot dumplings, so by the time I got home, it had softened the bottom a bit. Still, the dumpling wrappers are thick and crispy enough to survive the trip. Into the air fryer later they go. One warning: the parking lot can be chaotic since it sits right off busy Providence Road. Just be patient. Cars are constantly pulling in, backing out, blocking entrances, and today people were absolutely treating red lights like suggestions. Saw it multiple times, including a bus cutting across traffic when I had the right-of-way. Charlotte drivers... please relax a little. That said, the food made the trip worth it. Taipei Express is one of those dependable local spots that always comes through when you need a solid meal without spending a fortune. Life is too short to not eat well. When this place is on point, it is definitely up there with Rice Blossom and Lam's Kitchen. Heads up, Trader Joe's makes parking less than ideal. Just plan on going to the second floor of the parking deck, almost always spots up there. I've tried to go a few times but always forgot the hours and they close after lunch daily. I have actually made it twice now, one time was really good. Like some of the best Chinese I've had between ATL and DC. And then I wanted to show this magical find off to a buddy and it just wasn't the same the next time. 5+ stars for my first meal, 2-3 for the second. The vibe is pretty upscale for "Chinese food". Service is attentive and friendly. Dinner is a little pricey, but not out of line. Lunch is a great deal. The honey pork lunch dish was ridiculously good the first time I got and very professional plating. When I went back, I told my buddy to get it and it wasn't remotely the same. The food came out in like 5 mins and seemed reheated. All the pork was just piled on top instead of a beautiful fanned out presentation. Maybe the kitchen was mad? We showed up at 2 with only 2 people, but there was a crew of like 5 adults and 3-4 kids that rolled in past 2:15 which isn't all that polite in my opinion. Dim sum is solid, lots of interesting specials, I really want to delve deeper into the menu sometime. It feels like a place that would be great for large groups and everybody shares some bites. The menu might be a little bit overwhelming though? I'll be back, for sure. Especially if in that area anyhow. Curious about the other location.

The service is good and this was the first time I asked for very spicy Tangerine Chicken and actually got it ! (Usually it's too mild and I have to add chili, which when added vs cooked-in does not have the right flavor.) It was perfect. Hubby got the General Tso Chicken. Both of our side veggies were barely cooked to the point of almost raw. I forget they do this every time.... and every time I end up boxing up all veggies to cook them at home. Remember to ask them to cook their veggies until soft, or they won't. This time I also got the seaweed salad. It was good. It is busy enough that plenty of other people had also called in for takeout. The price was higher than I thought it would be by a significant margin; I thought something was off but then rechecking their menu I saw it was indeed $20 for a vegetable entree. On the upside, they did offer brown rice at no extra charge. Still, I'll get three meals out of it and as someone who eats a lot of takeout, this was not a great value. In terms of quality, I was thrilled to find that they offered a stir-fried okra dish. This is a ubiquitous Indian dish, and of course okra is common throughout the tropics globally, but I'd never seen this offered at a Chinese restaurant before. And the rapid cooking technique typical of the cuisine produced a delightfully crisp vegetable, which went great with a black bean sauce and some very hot dried chilis. On the other hand, their interpretation of ma po tofu had some fermented broad beans but minimal vegetables (sometimes you get mushrooms or peas or at least some leeks or something) and no numbing sensation. They had a bean curd roll dish that I enjoyed, and some quality dumplings. Overall, not huge portions and a mix of okay to great quality.

Primarily, because I usually crave Chinese for lunch, and they're not open for lunch. Well, I was finally able to stop in for a super-early dinner recently...and I was pleasantly surprised. The place itself isn't typical of most Chinese restaurants in that it has more of a quaint, classic American vibe. There are even some modern touches, like light fixtures on bar chairs! Also, their overhead music was American. The menu wasn't too extensive, but I noticed that their format somewhat mirrored that of Taipei South...with their choose the meats and rice combos. I decided to try their Kung Pao Chicken & Shrimp, with White Rice. Also ordered their Kung Pao Spicy Edamame and Won Ton Soup. I didn't love the soup...but it's my bad in that I was thinking Sweet 'n Sour Soup when I ordered Won Ton. The Spicy Edamame was great...just the way I like it...and I really loved the main dish, Kung Pao Chicken & Shrimp. It was perfectly spicy and savory...and best of all, so light in flavor! Not that thick, glutinous taste you get from cheap Chinese foods. I could be wrong, but this may be Taiwanese food? Whatever the case, it was very good Chinese food!!
