I had Sunrun install my Solar system 3 years ago. It was one of the best things I've done to save my energy dollars. I also feel good about doing my small part to save the environment. read more

Run run run away from this scam of a company! Solar was installed 3 years ago and never worked properly. Their "computers tell them it is running perfect" it doesn't! We had to call in and tell them it was not working it's ridiculous that we have a $500 electric bill plus the solar payment each month! Believe me they hound you every month for their payment ( which we have never missed or been late on). We have a performance guarantee in our contract and now that they have to compensate it is a constant run around. The answer when I call is always " you have a new case manager and they will call you in 24-48 hours" BS they never call. I have called every week for 4 months after we discovered our panels were not producing with no resolve. Next move lawyer and removal of panels. Done playing with this scam of a company. SUNRUN SUCKS!!! read more

As I said 10 years ago with the predecessor vivint solar, don't do it. When sun run took over a few years ago things ( customer service ) improved . But now , it's gone back to the same song and dance only worse. My solar system hasn't worked since March . I missed the whole summer of savings ( about 2/3s typically) and credits back to national grid. Today , I actually got a phone call that said that they wanted to come out sept 15th. . Really? It hasn't worked for 5 months and you want to come out on the 15th? Of sept? ‍. The upside is it's only another 10 years till their contract is up read more

SunRun is a complete scam company that sends the scummiest scumbags to your home to lie to you and do whatever they have to get you to agree to solar. SunRun then completely distances themselves from their associates and claim no responsibility for the lies their employee tells you while sitting in your home wearing their shirt. Their lol 'customer service' is abysmal. The rudest dumbest reps I've ever spoken to with zero respect or understanding for their customers read more

After ruining my roof and costing me $12,400, Sunrun is trying to bully me into a rushed review of the replacement solar system and make me sign off on the design. If I end up in arbitration ($2,000 filing fee but I believe you get it back if you win. Not a lawyer, best to do your own due diligence), I'll update again. At least now, the hearing can be done by Zoom instead of having to fly to California. read more

Not even a year since installation, and my panels don't work. Thus, I am paying Sunrun, yet the system is not producing any solar, AND I'm paying Unitil for electricity. And the customer service is awful. I've asked to speak to someone, and instead I'm forced to go back and forth with an unhelpful agent using Live Chat. The first time I called I was told a "tech team" would look into it. A month went by, and I hadn't heard a thing, so I call again and I'm given the same song and dance, except now I'm told that the issue is due to weather and there's nothing they can do. Worse financial decision of my life. If I could give Sunrun a zero-star review, I would. read more

The solar panels stopped working after a few years. Because I was leasing the panels, Sunrun was suppose to monitor & guarantee production. After several months, they finally realized the panels weren't producing and fixed them. I got a huge end of year SCE utility bill for thousands. Sunrun would not credit my account hardly anything. Who can I complain to in the CA government? read more

When Sunrun sales agent worked hard to sell me their program, the promise was that I will never have an Ameren bill, nor any of my solar bills, and I will just have one uniform bill of $50/mo from their company. However, I get all the bills, and in addition I pay them $50/mo. It seems they needed my roof to install the panels to sell to others to make their company rich, by charging me $50/mo in the meantime. This is a total scam; and I have no savings. read more

Summer 2023 had a random guy show up to my house preaching his solar spiel and how much money I was spending on electricity on average blah blah. He didn't give up he showed up every other day sent which I realize now was scare tactics via texts saying the electric companies rates were going way up and I'd save so much money with Sunrun. The scare texts didn't stop. So I bit the bullet like an idiot and went solar Jan of 2024. The most credit I have had with my electric company was $125. I am paying WAY more a month for rent of the solar panels and electricity using the same amount of power than I was before this horror show Sunrun. Conveniently in the summer months my panels weren't working like they should but once summer was over they started working fine. I hate that I went with solar I am locked in for 25 years and can't sell my house unless the buyers qualify to take over the lease. Sick to my stomach over this. They are using my house but I have to pay them kind of doesn't make sense but was my own damn fault for falling for the lies. Also the salesman was my best friend until the job was competed. I'm so frustrated read more

Avoid like the plague. The sales rep we had told us if we ever need to remove the solar panels for roof replacement it would be no charge. The same thing was told to my sister in law. They want to charge 2000 to remove and reinstall. Every time I see a rep at Costco with a customer I am going to tell them to run. read more

Do NOT sign any contract with Sunrun! I had solar panels installed several years ago and they have broken down every single year for months at a time. Meanwhile you are paying a monthly fee, yet the system is not producing any solar - so this means you are also having to pay national grid while paying for the solar. If you system has managed to actually generate Kwh, you will have to pull from your 'banked' solar. So basically there is a net zero benefit - actually I consider it a negative benefit as I have had to spend many hours resolving these issues. read more

The sunrun team reached out to me after this review. They listened to the issue and resolved it speedily. I can't give them a five star review because of the issue, but because they did follow through I am changing my score. read more

Never do business with Sunrun, Freedom Forever, or Boundless Energy. They sold me a solar panel installation that I eventually figured out would only save me a dollar a day. But it's never worked right, so it's never even done that, and I believe I'm paying more for electricity now than I ever did because of it. I've been chasing them for weeks, and all I ever get, if I get any response at all, is the latest excuse for why the technician couldn't make it to the latest appointment. I am in the middle of selling my house, and these people could potentially cost me thousands of dollars. What a mistake doing business with these people has been. Update: thank God the buyers of my home were willing to put up with sSunrun, Freedom Forever, and Boundless Energy. Doing business with any of them was still one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made. Never again. read more

Representatives ignore very obvious NO SOLICITING signs and proceeded to ring door bells and aggressively knock multiple times. Woke my baby during her scheduled nap. Any parent would know how infuriating that is- when your only downtime is taken away because a sales company didn't respect the law or your wish to not be disturbed by solicitations. read more

I was approved for Solar 8 months ago & have been given the run around since with NO SHOW took day off work to waiting on a part for my panel to NO communication even from management. I sent a referral & they rec'd panel about 2 months ago & I am STILL waiting. I am also supposed to rec'd a $500 referral bonus have NOT heard back on this either!! I am VERY frustrated w/this company & their lack of communication to the customers. In a time when people were scrambling to get panels due to the increase in electric....calls get unanswered & texts as well. This company soes not seem to deliver what they promise & I have been given MANY promises read more

This company bought Vivint solar. It would be the mistake of your life doing business with this company. Or Vivint, the sales girl from New Hampshire will deceive you in every way possible. The system is junk and ever since I had the system installed I have double electric bills on a lot of months. They damaged my property and refuse to come out because I have a small claims action against them. I have severe safety issues they will not address. Please take my advice stay away far away from this company read more

This is one of those reviews that one star as the minimum rating is unfortunate. The process with this company has been nothing short of a disaster from the start. The lack of attention to detail has been astounding. I had to send them back multiple times to fix the paperwork for how many panels we wanted. We told them we wanted to purchase the panels and they continued to push the leasing option and even sent us paperwork to sign multiple times with the lease option selected and not purchase, so we had to send back every time. They originally told me 3-5 weeks to get the panels activated once they were installed. Months passed and they blamed the electric company for the delay, but it turned out they never filed the paperwork. More recently, months after initially activating, Sunrun reset my account, deleting all records of all energy generated prior and informed me that I had to provide evidence that they were active prior to the reset. Stay far away from this company if you can help it. There are other options for solar panels for your home. read more

The entire Sunrun installation process went very smoothly. I have been up and running since December 2019. However, I am very disappointed in their customer service. Their parent company, Comcast, was offer an incentive rebate if you signed up for solar the same day the sales appointment. I did that, in May 2019, and never received my rebate. My rep told me at the time he was authorized to almost double my rebate amount. After several months I contacted him and was reassured it arrive in a couple of weeks. Still haven't received it. My sales rep hasn't replied to my calls in a few months....I think he left Sunrun. I've reached out to customer service several times and have gotten an automated reply. I don't know what else to do. Sunrun shouldn't promise incentives if they aren't going to pay out. I'd be curious if any one else has had a similar experience with them. read more

Brad, the Sunrun rep was friendly and easy to talk to. He was very informative but not pushy. This is the fourth solar company I've met with but the first time I've come away knowing this is the solution for me. They have a fantastic product, really a no-brainer. read more
