This library is always so clean and they always have a nice amount of copies of new releases so I don't need to be put on a waitlist to check the book out. I love that the library is two floors and the second floor is always so nice and quiet. The bathrooms here on both floors are always very clean as well and the tables are nicely spaced out in the library so I don't feel like I am ever hovering over other patrons while I am here! They have a friends of the library where you can buy second hand books and the deals they have on them are wonderful. I usually end up walking out with a stack of books way too high, for less than ten dollars. The best part is the money goes directly towards the library and helping run events that are open to the general public!

The printer use was only .15 cents per b&w page and free use of the internet on the computer. They also had a very small section of books for sale which was odd but maybe the proceeds go toward the upkeep. The gender neutral bathroom was clean and located near the book checkput counter.

There were plenty of computers, seats, and table seating throughout, which gave it a functional feel. If you want more privacy, you can request a quiet room. After picking up the dvd from the hold section, I walked around and chose a few more movies to watch. I wish I could borrow some cds, but my vehicle is not equipped with a cd player. Oh how I miss those good old days. Venturing to other Broward County libraries are interesting. Despite the world's shift toward digitalization, it is appreciated that the libraries are still offering their resources to the community.

This is the closest library to home and we have come here for nearly two decades. They have made great strides at keeping it clean inside and out. The books (including a Spanish language collection), reading materials and DVD selection is well organized. In addition to the 100-seat room for meetings, they have a computer room for adults with space for a couple dozen people. Years ago, I spent many hours there and it was quiet enough that you could flow in your thoughts to write. Moreover, they've added computers so more children can work on iReady and play educational games. There isn't a time I've walked in here that there aren't a number of tutors helping children and adults alike. The staff is helpful and there is a guard who assists them, which is an added bonus in the afternoons when the students from the nearby Middle/High School start coming in. In addition to the parking spaces in the front (facing Commercial Blvd.), there is parking in the side and rear of the lake that divides the library from the Tamarac Community Center. Although it's a private library, it is available to the public. My friend told me about this library as her middle school son volunteered here during the summer. She said it was really nice during the summer when it was quiet and they had the library to themselves. I went during the weekday last week. In the midst of back to school college students everywhere! Lol. They have security by the main entrance and college students are asked to scan their university IDs. All other guests will be let in by the guard. You must have a Broward County Libraries card to check out books at this location. The nice thing is, you can return the books to any Broward County Library and they will ship the book directly to Alvin Sherman Library. So convenient. When you walk into the library, the circulation desk is on the left, there is a computer working lab area on the right, and if you go straight, you'll find the children's book location, there are new books located on the spinning racks next to the stairs, and there is also a hidden bestseller books room located next to the circulation desk and entrance/exit. I believe there are four floors in this library. Tons and tons of tables and rooms for study areas for the college students. My favorite part about this museum is the Chihuly display on the second floor, they fancy! Another fascinating thing about this library, are the moving bookshelves! You heard me right. They have digital buttons where you can move the actual bookshelves. It's such a smart way to save space. Brilliant. Unfortunately, they don't have any Friends of the Library books for sale at this location. But the librarian did mention they have two big annual book sales per year. You can sign up for newsletter on their website. There are also two book returns at the roundabout outside of the library in case you don't want to park and get out of your car. There is a parking garage but you have to pay for parking using the park by mobile app. I believe it was $1.61 per hour. Students park for free with their NSU parking stickers.

Inside, it feels like you're transported somewhere magical. Books literally line everywhere you go and I loved being able to crane my neck all the way back and see books going upwards towards the roof. It is easy to figure out the sections, they have history, art, literature and a variety of other genres to look around at. I found a old edition of The Silence of The Lambs and had to buy it. The book was in very nice condition and very reasonably priced for what it was! I will say, if it's busy like it was when I was there, you will have to scooch past people multiple times because the two rows of books are basically only large enough for one person standing sideways. A gorgeous and reasonably priced bookstore that you need to see in person to truly appreciate it like I did!

The library was built to service the needs of the northwest area of Broward County. This library and the Southwest Regional Library in Pembroke Pines were built from a 139.9 million dollar bond approved in March of 19999. This library not only services Coral Springs residents but those who live in Margate, Tamarac, and Sunrise as well. The two-story Northwest Regional Library includes a 300-seat auditorium, computer technology room with over 100 computers, a teen activity room, a storytelling room in the children's section, tutoring rooms, small study rooms and conference rooms in the adult section. The children's and adults' sections are on two different floors. Featured outside the library is a 9/11 Memorial and a Martin Luther King, Jr monument. They gave a welcome goodie bag with information, which was cute. It's a small space for kids to explore, create, and learn. The interactive exhibits and hands-on art stations can keep kids engaged while making the experience fun and educational. A spot that inspires creativity. It is definitely geared towards older, school aged kids. I had my 8 month old with me and their wasn't much for him to do. It probably would be good for lower elementary students. They had painting stations, and a lot of recycled materials to make puppets. Admission can be pricey but its worth checking out on a hot or rainy day. The City of Sunrise is the first city in South Florida to install Little Free Libraries in its…read moremunicipality. This one was installed back in February 2013 as part of a service learning project by students in the Sunrise Leadership Academy. The Little Free Library movement started in Wisconsin in 2009. By installing little bookshelves in communities, the "librarians" hope to promote literacy and the love of reading, as well as a sense of neighborhood, by building free book exchanges worldwide. The concept is "Take a Book, Leave a Book." You are welcome to drop off your gently used books, and to help yourself to anything that catches your fancy. It's a library with no late fee! This one, built right by the playground in the park, is in a great location. I can imagine parents and children checking out the books, after an energetic hour in the playground. However, there doesn't seem to be a lot of usage though. Most of the time I pass by the library (repurposed from a newspaper stand) is rather empty. Hopefully more people will discover and use this little gem!
