Located on the corner of Sample and University, this regional library is fairly quiet and large but seemed to have a lot of open space, rather than space filled with books. They have a decent sized, nicely organized Friends of the Library right outside the main the library and Debbie was a pleasure to talk books with there. They also have a small Friends of the library section inside the main library. Outside are a few drive up drop boxes to return books. The 72,000 square foot Northwest Regional Library next door to Coral Springs Charter School opened on Feb. 15, 2001 replacing the much smaller branch library at 10077 NW 29th St built in 1982. The library was built to service the needs of the northwest area of Broward County. This library and the Southwest Regional Library in Pembroke Pines were built from a 139.9 million dollar bond approved in March of 19999. This library not only services Coral Springs residents but those who live in Margate, Tamarac, and Sunrise as well. The two-story Northwest Regional Library includes a 300-seat auditorium, computer technology room with over 100 computers, a teen activity room, a storytelling room in the children's section, tutoring rooms, small study rooms and conference rooms in the adult section. The children's and adults' sections are on two different floors. Featured outside the library is a 9/11 Memorial and a Martin Luther King, Jr monument. I love the Broward County Library system because there is so much to explore. The library collection includes best sellers, adult fiction, DVD's, audiobooks and CD's. It also has digital devices available for loan including Veterans HotSpots and children's Playaway LaunchPads. Its collection includes International language materials in Spanish, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Hebrew and Russian. The programs for children, teens, and adults are excellent here. I love my local libraries, and after relocating and changing from Southwest Regional to this location, I was a little apprehensive of how good Northwest Regional would compare. While the space may not have as much of a personal feel, it's still a fantastic spot to get your read on (and more)! The outside of the library boasts bicycle racks, ample parking and a convenient drive-through book drop. The interior offers study rooms and a teen space. If you can't find the book you want, you can always borrow from another Broward Library through interlibrary loan. Staff is usually very helpful. Class offerings are vast, and they even have special 50+ programs for seniors. They have toddler activities and holiday themed events, and even have books set aside for early readers based on the upcoming holiday(s)! Rude woman, as per usual, working the Computer Room. With covid, customers have to go through her to get assigned a computer. You have to stand behind a line and TELL HER your library card number. She likes to start out saying the number so she says "D0" to everyone. If you pickup with the numbers after D0, though, she can't keep up so I ended up telling her from the beginning even the D0 part she has memorized. She'll offer wipes from a big dispenser supply but if you grasp more than twice to collect your wipe because an entire wipe does not easily dispense out of there she will catch an attitude and say "that's enough" in a nasty way as if to accuse the customer of stealing the wipes. Computer and printer worked today. I hate the rudeness each and every time here. Much security. I looked up towards the ceiling on way out from library foyer and saw a (security) guard. read more

I like coming to this library because it's very big with lots of options. In particular, I go to their weekly toddler storytime. My son truly enjoys it. They have songs, reading a book on the projector, bubbles, and then some playtime. They also have great summer programs and reading programs for the kids and adults alike. I also like their youth and children section where they have computers and toys and books for the little ones. It's a great option to be in the community and Surround yourself with other book lovers. read more

First of all... I LOVE the public library! Even the tiniest branch out in the boonies. What is there not to love? you can borrow books, movies and music at no cost. I love browsing the aisles and look at different books in different subjects. And learning many different things. They also have lots of different programs and activities for all ages. This particular location is a regional branch, therefore bigger than most. It is super busy as it is right next to a school. They have clerks to help out, but is is a 100% self service branch if you want it to be. There are self service stations where you can remove sensors on movies and Cd's, as well as shelves where all holds are placed so that you have to look for them yourself rather than stand on line. Everyone I have dealt with is helpful and very nice. I just cannot say enough about libraries. Please support them whenever you can. read more

This is My first time here and it's not too bad. The library is clean and I was able to find a vacant table easily. I made the mistake of coming after 2:30 pm so there are a lot of kids as they all get out of school around that time so downstairs was pretty noisy but upstairs is where everyone seems to be studying and getting tutoring so it's much calm here. Nice place to get some work done. I'm doing a dissertation so I needed somewhere where I can focus on my work and this is not bad at all. I usually do work at Starbucks but it can get a bit noisy sometimes but I don't mind switching spots now and then. So all I all im satisfied with this library . read more

When certain books are super expensive at Barnes & Noble, amazon.com etc. I usually like to check out the library. Specially if I'm getting multiple books. I like the fact they have a good size computer lab for school kids. On occasion I saw many kids and teenagers went to the library after school. I think they might have an after school program here as well. They accommodate you when they don't have certain books, the library computer system let's you know what other branches have the book. They get it delivered to whatever library location you want. The only thing I felt in multiple occasions is that many librarians are not to keen on answering questions and if they are designated to a certain area they want you to go speak to other library workers to get you what you need. However, getting free books on rent is not a bad deal specially when you don't like online books, kindle etc. read more

We are lucky to have such a public library located in Coral Springs. Parking can be a little trying sometimes, especially if Broward County Schools are in session. Q: How do you rate a Public Library? It is located in a convenient spot, it is a very well maintained building, has somewhat new periodicals and the service is what you expect from an public institution. (Okay) ~ with the dawn of the internet, people really do not use "libraries" as their main research venue. It is a shame, but we must support our community until technology catches up to Broward County Public Library business model. (who knows) At least get yourself an "old fashion" library card just in case technology has a "hiccup". I really wish there was more order in the children's department or some type of collaboration among the public schools in Broward county. When several schools seem to be hosting the same activities, it would be a great resource if the public library would also carry items to aid in student projects. Not sure if the blame is schools or the library but it remains a disservice to the community both serve. Additional, organization/collaboration issues when it comes to returning items. Broward county is suppose to allow patrons to return at any location and shuttle back to the original. Sucks when you have to wait over a month to have items cleared from account. Though staff is limited, those presents were extremely helpful. Good library but far from great. read more

I have learned to LOVE the NW Regional Library! It is great for reserving books, movies and music. You can go on line, which I just started doing and/or go right to the help desk in the center of the library and give them the list of books, movies, music, etc you want, if they are not on the shelves. They have the top tenlist, if you're not sure what you want. My hubby and I like seeing movies in the comfort of our home big screen, so we can eat, talk, pause, if ever, when ever, we want. As long as you are not an enthusiasts that has to see it the day/week it comes out, just wait till they are released and entertain yourself for free! I love saving money for HBO & Internet svs! We just got to our neighborhood library where you can ALWAYS find a computer to work on for a full hour. If I need more time, the staff is always accomodating! they also have a printer! Not only do I save money on a computer, but maintenance as well, if your not practicing SAFE computer skills. The computer staff are experts at cutting, pasting, attaching and all the things people over 50 know nothing about; oh, did I mention the FREE classes for people like me, with no computer skills? Yeah, they have that too. In fact, they have a variety of classes from Nutrition to Foreign Language. The main lobby boasts the beautiful array of local artists and the used book store selling books from a $ 0.25- $2.00. There's a bargain to be had there! It's really a swell place to discover; 2 full floors filled with everything you can imagine, including lots of desks and work areas! I'm now a regular there every weekend! My tax money couldn't be better spent! I hope you'll visit your local library and get to know the dedicated and friendly staff! read more

This library feels like studying in a daycare. I have never been here where the sounds of at least 3 children screaming bloody murder did not carry to every corner is the building. If you value quiet spaces, this is not the place for you. read more

large library it can get noisy after the Middle School children & high school children get out of school since they hang out at the library. there's not many places for tutoring to be done since the kids take most of the spots. This library is huge. They have books, movies, cds, audiobooks. They also have computers for use. You do have to pay a bit for printing which is fair. They give you a long time for your items and allow you to check out many items at a time. I would give it a 5 if their shelves were sometimes more full, however that may be because they have a lot of customers. For a long time they would not give me a physical card, but they finally did the other day. Keep in mind this is right by a school so there will tend to be a lot of kids in the afternoons during the week. read more

This is one of the, if not THE best, libraries in Broward county. It's a good size and always clean. As a study environment, there's really not much better. They have individual study cubicles with power outlets as well as "quiet" and group study rooms. There is an influx of kids from Coral Springs charter next door that come in around 3:00 but they're pretty well behaved and bring an influx of youthful energy to the place. If I had to say anything bad about it, it would be that it doesn't open up until 10am but that's, I'm sure, a county and budgeting decision. I'm studying for an advance professional designation and like to get started early so I'm forced to find other locations or kill time until 10am. Also, the staff comes around about 15 minutes before closing to start getting everyone out. Those extra 15 minutes do make a big difference for those of us trying to get in as much studying within a short time frame but, hey, everyone wants to get home after a long day. Aside from those two small and, pretty petty, complaints, 5 stars all around. A bonus for me is seeing kids studying, doing homework or helping each other with schoolwork as well as teachers and tutors working with the kids. It brings a big smile to my face and provides for a sense of community and appreciation during the otherwise divisive times we're going through. read more

This library has excellent hours for people that work the regular 9-5 hours. I haven't really spent much time in the library because I am busy but I always put stuff on hold and it takes a couple minutes to check it out. The only time it's been too busy is during events like voting. Most of the workers are friendly. This library is one of the few with Sunday hours and extended hours. read more

I love this library. Ample of clean space to study and do work. The first floor contains a large selection of media, children, and young adult books. The second floor is dedicated to quite reading and studying. Despite it being 2:30pm and student influx is high volume, there was great consideration to maintain noise control. There were ample study cubicles to support efficiency and focus. A security guard was on duty to regulate safety. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and the fact that I was able to accomplish my task in an ideal Library environment! read more

Great Library. Only complaint would be the parking at times. Sometimes you have to park at bank or business center across the street. It can also be a nightmare trying to get in or out while the school next door is being let out. Other than that? A+. BTW- The "I voted early" sticker reminds me. Another complaint is the volunteers that spam you mercilessly when you try to go into the building during voting season. If you say yes to everyone, you will literally have 20-30 pamphlets in your hands by the time you get in the building. I'm not the type to be intimidated so I will argue with them to leave me alone but for those that hate confrontation, avoid this library when early voting occurs. But if you are like me, you have fun with it and get them to waste 10-15 minutes trying to convince you to vote when either you have already voted or have no plan to vote. read more

The space is huge! They had an art sale in the lobby when we went. It was very nice! Children's area is nice and spacious with lots of activities! I really love this library, but am really disappointed lately on how the staff allows children and teenagers to act. They congregate outside yelling and swearing, but inside it's worse. The staff allows them to walk around talking on their cellphones and carrying on conversations at full volume. I felt like I was inside a school on lunch hour. If I acted like that at any library when I was younger, I would have been asked to leave! read more
