It was a very large space with many organized shelves displaying a vast genre of books, dvds, cds, and audio books. There were plenty of computers, seats, and table seating throughout, which gave it a functional feel. If you want more privacy, you can request a quiet room. After picking up the dvd from the hold section, I walked around and chose a few more movies to watch. I wish I could borrow some cds, but my vehicle is not equipped with a cd player. Oh how I miss those good old days. Venturing to other Broward County libraries are interesting. Despite the world's shift toward digitalization, it is appreciated that the libraries are still offering their resources to the community.

This is the closest library to home and we have come here for nearly two decades. They have made great strides at keeping it clean inside and out. The books (including a Spanish language collection), reading materials and DVD selection is well organized. In addition to the 100-seat room for meetings, they have a computer room for adults with space for a couple dozen people. Years ago, I spent many hours there and it was quiet enough that you could flow in your thoughts to write. Moreover, they've added computers so more children can work on iReady and play educational games. There isn't a time I've walked in here that there aren't a number of tutors helping children and adults alike. The staff is helpful and there is a guard who assists them, which is an added bonus in the afternoons when the students from the nearby Middle/High School start coming in. In addition to the parking spaces in the front (facing Commercial Blvd.), there is parking in the side and rear of the lake that divides the library from the Tamarac Community Center. Following are their hours of operation: Monday: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM Thursday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Friday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Saturday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sunday: CLOSED

They said they will be moving again to the other location in the next few years. It was such a quiet lovely homey feeling library. How libraries should be. We didn't run into homeless people, loud people, or annoying polls/surgery people standing up in the front like most libraries (Broward Blvd and Pine Island Library). This library is NOT situated with Broward County Libraries. It is only for Plantation residents. They have a great selection for young readers, babies, kids, teens and young adults. I did NOT have a chance to go searching for books for myself. Next time for sure.

Ultra quiet inside and the librarian answered all my questions starting with Plantation residents have free access to books and non-resident adults pay only $30.00 per year and $15.00 for kids. Very well organized library with large book genres titles for simple navigation. Only a few people reading books or studying on their laptops. Getting a small café inside would be a great attribute. The printer use was only .15 cents per b&w page and free use of the internet on the computer. They also had a very small section of books for sale which was odd but maybe the proceeds go toward the upkeep. The gender neutral bathroom was clean and located near the book checkput counter.

Sat at a comfy chair in a secluded corner and read my Flash comic. The library is split between a teen/adult section and childrens section. Some decent magazines and dvd offerings too. There is an active book fair that had a large adult section of donated books for sale at $1 - $2. The librarian was very sweet. A food and clothing donation bins are at the front counter. Got an application for a FREE library card with proof of ID in Broward County. Parking was not an issue.

When it was built, Young at Art Museum set the tone for this being a place for families to explore and learn. Then it changed to a library that seems to cater to teens and younger with the large area for all young people with magazines and computers to puzzles and a little play area with Legos for the littlest non readers. This building is quite large with multiple areas that are not fully utilized. There is some programming that can be booked online through the Broward County library system and there are rooms that can be rented out for meetings and after hour functions. The oitside spaces are also very nice although I believe it is slated to be renovated and turned into a different functional space. The staff seemed friendly and eager to assist. The Library was clean and very quiet and the parking lot was very easy to find parking. They even have some covered free parking and electric vehicle charges for the public.

The space, study rooms, and availability of resources were unmatched then, and they still are today! On this particular visit, we came for an NSU Children's Day event hosted by Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. This free event featured over 100 vendors and showcased many of the programs NSU offers. Kids could learn the basics of first aid, dental care, and healthy eating while also enjoying movement games, entertainment, and so much more! There was free food, prizes, and plenty of vendors offering helpful resources for children and young adults up to age 25. The event was very well organized, and this library was the perfect venue! Activities took place both indoors and outdoors, using only the first two floors. This meant floors three through five remained available for regular library activities and those looking for a quiet place to study. I thought that was a great way to accommodate such a large event while still allowing the library to serve its usual visitors. The building itself is beautiful, and there's a dedicated children's area on the first floor that also hosts smaller events, including story times and other activities. They have a schedule of upcoming events on their website, so it's worth checking out what's happening before your visit. You can also fill out the application for a library card on-site, and they have an app for e-book rentals, too! Parking is plentiful in their garage, which typically has a small fee. However, parking was free for this particular event, which was a nice bonus! I've been coming here for years, from my college days to now, and I look forward to continuing to visit for many years to come. Whether you're looking for a great place to study, resources for the family, or community events, this library has so much to offer!
