We had really been struggling to find an officiant who would write an custom ceremony that was feminist, non-religious, but reverent. Jen came highly recommended by our photographer (also, fabulous) and I am so grateful I found her. The ceremony she wrote was *chef's kiss* perfect with lighthearted moments and beautiful reflections on life. She worked with us to create the ceremony and you could absolutely tell in almost everything she wrote. We also used her help and worksheet for writing vows. I think this made both my partner and I much more comfortable with what we wrote, and much less likely to procrastinate. I highly recommend this. Not only was her script beautiful, but her presentation of said script, and presence alone was perfect. I am so glad to have met her and had her be part of our wedding. She truly made the day as well as helped set the tone for our future.

The location is great as we both have spent quite some time at Palmer Lake. beautiful views of the mountains as it is nestled close to them. Great outdoor venue area for when it's warm and an even more beautiful chapel and reception hall. I envision our big day at Pinecrest after the tour (we toured other places but the view was the best for us). Danny was also very informative of the packages and we chose the all inclusive. Well worth it, I have to say because when it came to our big day, everything was " absolutely spectacular " and the staff were amazing and worked hard to make our day over the top amazing. Jessica was our wedding coordinator, absolutely brilliant and amazing person to make our dream wedding ( and only wedding) come true. Danny, Jessica and the whole staff at Pinecrest: we cannot thank you enough for your kindness, patience and hard work you all did for our wedding. I am beyond words of how I'm so impressed with Pinecrest and it's staff. For those that are reading, definitely have your wedding here. Such a gorgeous place with trem staff. Best wishes, Anthony and Andrea C.

The guide was not able to provide basic information about the venue itself, to include their catering prices, the tax and service fees, and other miscellaneous info. My fiancé and I then told the guide multiple times that we intended on being married at the outside ceremony site and wished to see the location, but we were told "not today it's snowing". Tough to sell a venue when you refuse to show the customer what they want. We were very excited for this venue however the guide we given was the specific reason we did not choose this venue.

Fantastic quotes from Helen Schucman and Eckhart Tolle and other spiritual teachers I resonate with. Nice music. A meditation at the beginning. And, just overall, a teaching that felt right and make sense. There was a real positive energy in the place. But the pastor ruined it for me. Jack Groverland is not the right person for these teachings, which are about ego-less-ness and the oneness of all people and love. His ego bowled me over. He is quite impressed with himself, as demonstrated by this weirdly staged moment where he said "there is a flaw in The Course in Miracles, do you know what it is? Put a note on my desk if you think you know" then he takes out a note that was obviously prepared (because who would ever leave a note on a pastor's desk) where someone took a guess, then he negated the guess on stage. It would have been rude if I thought it was real. This song and dance seemed designed to show everyone in the congregation how smart he is (smart enough to find a flaw in a known spiritual work) and how he must know something we mere seekers do not. (Even though the teachings clearly state that truth is unknowable, beyond the human mind.) Then he showed photos of him with a well-known personality. Like he was showing us how "important" he was. This was cringe-worthy. Despite the good parts, I haven't returned. Maybe if they get a pastor that embodies the teachings more fully, I'd consider coming back.

Throughout every moment - the tour, the booking process, planning meetings, detail calls - all the way up until the very last minute, this team ensured everything went seamlessly. My husband and I are the only members in our family who live in Colorado and were looking for an all-inclusive venue to assist us throughout wedding planning so it wasn't so stressful on us solely. Black Forrest absolutely BLEW our expectations out of the water. We used every vendor recommended by the venue - they were all wonderful! Rev. John made our ceremony beautiful and personable. Maggie K. With DJ Maestro kept our group dancing all night long and kept everything SO fun for us! If you're looking for younger music - SHE'S YOUR GIRL! Huge shoutout to Mo @ Black Forrest, she walked us through every step of the process and made us feel so comfortable and supported. Katelyn and other staff Lexi, Dave, Cordelia and Mike were amazing during reception as well and kept the celebration rolling! My husband and I truly enjoyed our experience and would recommend Black Forrest @ Wedgewood a million times. The only disadvantage to Wedgewood is their payment process - you must reach out to the venue every time before you make a payment to get a secure link. You don't have 24/7 access to a payment account and can not pay any amount at will. However, the staff do their very best at responding to emails and calls when those links are requested!

Surrounded by a lovely garden, the interior of the barn/reception hall/Quonset hut was surprisingly stark and awkwardly decorated with gaudy gold cherubs and wishing wells. This was my only complaint about the venue. The farm owner talked to my party about the history of his farm and it's future development, and the chef socialized with us before dinner was served. The table was set with an endearing assortment of mismatched chargers, plates and flatware and the chef could tell the story of how he personally sourced each. The meal was served family-style: great wide bowls of freshly snipped salad greens and flowers were so thinly veiled by simple vinaigrette that the sweetness of the greens, pepper of the flowers, licorice of the fennel and snap of the stems was the star. Bread served, sourced at a nearby bakery was fresh and perfect to sop up every speck of the thick orangey Romesco sauce that held the grilled eggplant dressed with crunchy breadcrumbs in place. Roasted fingerling potatoes, slightly charred and addictively creamy almost played second fiddle to those seductive eggplant slices. Finally, wedges of an apple tart, dressed with cheddar cheese crisps and a dollop of sour cream was tasty, but did not seem to appeal to the group as it might in a more regionally amicable setting like cheesehead Wisconsin or the eastern seaboard. All in all, a simple, unfussy venue for a small wedding or a group event. The scenery and service could not be friendlier if a bit unrefined. I do hope more book this place in the future!
