Plan to arrive early if you're seeing a live performance as there are multiple galleries to spend some time with, along with light bites and beverages. There are so many seating areas sprinkled throughout the space, if ya wanna just lounge while you wait. Speaking of light bites and beverages, they have some decent offering and aren't too over the top for what'd you'd expect to pay at a live performance. I also don't mind supporting such a great venue and organization. We've seen a few performances at a couple of their theatres. My favorite is likely the most intimate space, The Black Box Theatre. The other larger space is well laid out, just bigger. I love the creativity and variety of their offerings. We've seen so many great shows. Def will return. And, the last time we were there, we learned about their spring plant sale that took place in their parking lot. Who knew? We went and really appreciated the local community collaboration. Logistically, it struggled a lot in my opinion. It is set in a room, which is to small for the structure of the production. About 30 minutes in, the guests are told to go to other "suspects' and gather information. In such a small room, this is difficult not only to move, but hear over the noise. About 45 minutes later, the actors go to each suspect and have them read additional clues, this is much better as everyone gets to hear and you are not trying to move around. Then 20-30 minutes later, you are asked to mingle and gather the clues. Them the end by the actors interviewing the suspects again. They should just use the actors to interview the suspects so everyone can hear and gather clues.

We saw a burlesque tarot performance. The host was so funny and all the dancers were amazing and so talented! Love the body positivity and the diversity amongst all their dancers (male dancers were included!). They provide fun little noisemakers to use during the dances to cheer them on. They have lots of drink options too and come around to take your order. I got the non-alcoholic Aperol spritz which was a little strange but that's ok haha. Other girls seemed to like their cocktails and wine. The music, the costumes, the dancers, everything was so much better than we expected! So fun!

I've been going here since moving to Denver when I searched out where the internationally held "Nerd Nite" in Denver would be. I used to go to Nerd Nite in Wisconsin and many of the major metro areas have a Nerd Nite. So, that is how I discovered The Bug Theater. It's not quite as cool as the WI chapter, but it's still a good time! It's fun to learn stuff! Another great event there was the Emerging Filmmakers. Local filmmakers present their short films and you can make a comment about it afterwards, if you'd like. Or you can just listen to other's comments! It's a great time if you're into movies! A must see are the Acrocats. Again, I've also seen the show of performing cats in WI and have been waiting for years to see them here in Denver. I couldn't believe the date range as the show ran for something like 2-3 weeks and even more shocking was that she sold out every single day!!! Fun fact is that her first performance was here in Denver at The Bug even though she started the Acrocats out of Illinois (and is in Georgia as of late). They have several other events like comedy, as well. Definitely check something out there that you're into! It's sure to be a good time! The theater is small, I don't know if it's 100-something seating. But also, nice and cozy for these fun locals on stage ;)

Our second beverage we both got the Spicy Margarita. This was served on the rocks with 21Seeds Cucumber Jalapeno Blanco, Cointreau, lime juice, sweet and sour with a Tajin rim. I think I would have liked this more if it had not been as cucumber forward. It tasted more like an extract than actual cucumber. Noted for another time. Our server was pleasant and took great care of us.
