By far my most favorite way to visit wine country. I've done the wine tasting via a limousine. I've gone in our own carpools and even been curious to try the cable car/trolleys. In my opinion, by far, the COOLEST and most fun way to experience Temecula is by Jeep. Dress comfortably. Best to pick a time of the year when the weather is comfortably cool. We had such a perfect day, not too hot and not too cold. Amazing views of the wineries that you may not otherwise experience. The coolest views behind-the-scenes amidst the vineyards. For my boyfriends birthday I decided he wanted to go wine tasting for the weekend. Now that I chose the weekend, I couldn't make him pull on his khakis and boat shoes then stuff him in a limo to hang with strangers for the wine tasting so I looked up alternative options. I found Sunrider to offer a very unique way of visiting different wineries. I was able to make the reservation through their website and we were in contact with our driver by email and then by phone the day of our tour. We were picked up from our hotel in Temecula in a yellow Jeep with the top down and immediately felt ready for the adventure ahead. It was a little chilly in the backseat but we could hear our driver well enough to ask questions. He explained that we were going to three wineries and asked us and the two girls who joined us what our preferences were for the day. We all agreed to go in search of red blends. He chose Callaway, Danza Del Sol and Leoness. Upon arrival to the wineries, we were given six tickets each for tasting and we had about an hour at each location. After the first and second visit, our driver would ask questions about how we enjoyed the wine so he could make an informed choice about our next stop. We ended up buying a bottle at the third winery and shared it with our new Jeep friends. In between the first and second winery we took a little off roading detour so we could hoot and holler a bit! Having a knowledgeable, personable, sober driver to lead us on our wine tasting journey was the absolute key to a fantastic birthday for the bf. To be honest, the third winery and the events thereafter get a little blurry but I had the best time with Sunrider as our host and we will use them again the next time we wine taste in Temecula. How amazingly cool! My mom and I had a great time on this wine tour. Tim, our guide picked us up at our villa at 10AM just as promised. He introduced himself and took us over to his yellow jeep. When we were done, we went to the Leonesse Winery where we did six more tastings and then had a tour of the equipment and barrel room. After that, we went off-roading through the vineyard, literally through the vineyard. So cool! Then, Tim put on some thematic music and went up to the top of this hill for a great view and some pictures. This was so much fun; everyone in our jeep was so down to earth and nice. Tim was a great guide and I really could not agree more with Ashley D, Tim really is THE MAN! What a cool experience. I didn't know what to expect but I have to say that the reviews of this place matched my experience for sure! We were picked up promptly from our hotel at 9:45am as we were told. This is a nice touch because no one wanted to worry about the drive back. If you can, try to sit in the backseat of the jeep, makes it that much better. We had Seth and Sheena as our tour guides for the day - both of which knew exactly what they were talking about and what they were doing. Interestingly enough, me and my best friend got grouped up with a bachelorette party. They looked like a fun bunch, donning these outrageously large hats and bringing along a giant blow up of a penis they appropriately named 'Willy.' With wine on the horizon, we were in for a treat. Yes, at first it was a little awkward having two dudes in the presence of a bachelorette party (I broke the ice by saying we were actually the strippers) but come round the second winery, inhibitions started to dissolve. That day, we visited Stellars, Danzo del Sol, and Leonesse. The bartenders were all very welcoming of us tourists- a little sly about getting you to join their wine membership but in any case, we had a good enough experience that we walked away with two bottles by the end of the trip. I personally enjoyed Danzo the best, they had something German that our guide kept calling Girls Are Mean... it was a delicious white wine! I also enjoyed the White Merlot at both Stellars and Leonesse. Apparently, the wineries start picking up around 2pm so the morning tour was nice because we didn't have to deal with the crowds. When I signed up for the tour, I had an image of what the food would be like (lunch comes with the morning tours). While I was pretty good off about 8 tastings and a glass, I knew the lunch we were eating wasn't all that special (a sandwich and pizza). Someone referenced that it felt like we were at camp again. We also got to play a wine tasting game where we had to pick out the cheapest wine of the bunch. If we said the wine that tasted the best was cheapest, we were given the title of being a Cheap Date... oh well, lol. All in all, it was a great way to experience wine country. I think if I'm feeling adventurous next time, I would get a group of friends together and hit up the wineries we like, or the ones that offered baked brie (which was on my bucket list but unfortunately none of the wineries we visited had that). Travis is a ROCK STAR! This was a gift purchased through another company, and I understand it was more expensive than going direct to the Sunrider. Folks got to make their money and we would have never found Sunrider otherwise, so no foul with that. We met in Old Town Temecula, which has its pros and cons. Pro is it's so quaint with lots of shopping and entertainment if you've never been before. Con is if you wanted to continue on to more wineries after the tour, because Old Town is on the other side of the freeway and traffic has become a nightmare on the main arteries. Learn the side streets! I was little concerned with 6 folks crammed in a jeep with the top on (weather called for a chance of storms), but we got cozi and managed. Fortunately, we had a GREAT group! A couple celebrating their 8th anniversary, and sisters celebrating a birthday, which we were, as well. Everyone was in celebration mode! We started at Hart, which at first bummed me out because its one of the originals and I've been there several times; however not in probably the last 15 years. It did not disappoint in the end. The tasting room has been changed and the staff was very knowledgeable, adding to a fun start to the tour. I had never been to the next winery, which as a group we helped choose since they offered more traditional Italian-style wines, Robert Renzoni. Looking back, this was a favorite stop of the day on the tour. We loved the reds and pretty much tasted them all. Had to buy some and we're most likely going to join their wine club, as well. Last stop was Leoness, where I've been a few times. We had a nice box lunch on the patio, which concerned me at first because they serve lunch. Usually establishments frown on that, but no one seemed to mind. I guess the tour companies have this worked as a marketing opportunity. The best was yet to come! Travis took us on a really fun ride through the vineyards after lunch settled in. The ride was fun and he really knows his stuff!! It wasn't surprising to learn that he is family to one of the local wineries and was raised in the vineyards. There were a few in the group that weren't wine drinkers, and something that I LOVE in a teacher is that he knew the subject well enough to educate on any level. He could explain processes and terms so that he never spoke "above" someone's level of knowledge. This man should pursue being an educator! Travis brought us out to find some late harvest grapes, which we sampled and he delved a bit into the farming and harvesting aspects before taking us over to the barrel room, which we learned more about blending. Then we headed over to the outside area where grapes were cleaned up and crushed after being harvested and put into the steel vats outside. We got to taste the "juce" that was fermenting, too. What a treat! In fact, there wasn't another tour that day so our 2pm return time was delayed to 4pm! I'm a serious wine drinker, as is my husband. We both came out of restaurant service, and I've done MANY wine seminars over the years. We both learned a LOT on this tour and I would definitely recommend it to anyone at any level of sophistication...beer drinkers included! read more

My 3 friends and I booked a wine tour for a Tues for $99 per person. We had a wonderful tour guide, Travis who met us around 11:15 with his Jeep (our ride for the day) in front of the Starbucks in Old Temecula. He was really nice, very informative and knowledgeable about wines without being pretentious, and he was an awesome guide the whole day! We all learned a LOT about wines and had a GREAT time! He took us to 3 different wineries: Robert Renzoni, Leonesse, and Danza del Sol. All the wineries were really close to each other, like less than 5 min away driving. At each winery, we were given several tastings (about 5-6) and we got to choose which wines we each wanted to try based off of their menu. First stop: Robert Renzoni. I reallyyyy liked the Cantata (start with this one!!) and I also LOVED the Bellissimo which is a sweet white wine. I loved it so much that I bought a bottle of it to take home (you get like a 10% discount if you're on the tour too so I highly recommend you take advantage of it)! They also gave us a delicious tomato marinara sauce to dip our crackers in. Man, that marinara... too good! Second stop: Leonesse. This is a lot of people's favorites! We had a really fun, friendly pourer who made the experience that much greater. We learned a lot about wines from him such as how when you see a description underneath wine such as "chocolate, strawberries, grapefruit, vanilla, clove, tobacco" etc. it doesn't mean they add those ingredients! They NEVER add anything to wine! It's pretty much subjective, everyone tastes something different depending on their past memories and experiences, and the description is whatever the wine experts said it tasted like when they tasted it! Mind = blown. I thought this whole time my taste buds weren't refined enough to taste all those flavors! Crazy! ANYWAY, my favorites here were the signature selection cabernet sauvignon (so unique, smooth, and delicious)! and the 2011 white merlot! Yummyyy! Their muscat canelli's were really good too! They have like 3 different kinds. Try all of them! After the tastings here, we had lunch in the patio. Travis brought us our lunch from a place nearby called Cosi(?) which we placed orders for in the morning with Travis. My friend and I shared the Italiano sandwich and the Signature Salad which had amazingly delicious dressing with cranberries, apples, nuts, etc. So good! Get the salad! Third and final stop: Danza del Sol. This winery is known to have really good whites! I really liked the 2011 Gewurztraminer. That is a definite must-try there, especially if you're like me and you like the slightly sweeter white wines! One of the coolest parts of the trip was the off-roading! Travis drove us literally THROUGH a vineyard, in between the rows of the plants while blasting Indiana Jones music! LOL it was hilarious and so much fun! We all really enjoyed it! We had the best time with Spencer!! I highly recommend eating a big breakfast if you're thinking about the earlier tour...I just had a banana and a granola bar...not enough for all the wine! I do wish that we would have gotten to see more of the actual vineyards, but but our group was a little chatty and we got a tiny bit behind schedule. So that was on us. I purchased a Groupon deal $69 per person on a wine tour of three wineries, lunch (Which was amazing catered by Cosi), Behind the scenes Barrel room tour, Tour through the vineyards, and a free wine glass. Some of the best money I spent! Seth picked us up in Old Town Temecula at the local Starbucks at 11:00 AM. Seeing the Bright Yellow Jeep pulling up I knew we were in for a fun day! Seth loaded us in for a total of 6 participants on a Tuesday. Our stops included: Belvino Winery Leonesse Winery (Most Beautiful Scenery & known for Reds) Danza Del Sol The best part was if you take several tours here will accommodate you to different wineries. Seth is very knowledgeable and really wants to find your perfect wines to meet your taste. He discusses each tasting menu to specific details. Wow what a fun day we had here! In the morning we started off with an amazing balloon ride and planned this wine tasting tour to happen afterwards. Our tour guide was SETH, very friendly and knowledgable. He definitely knew how to show us a great time, he was awesome and very personable. If you request him as you're guide, you will have a blast!! We visited 4 different vineyards in the course of the 5 hour tour. I'm not a wine drinker, but its cool how you can notice the differences between each vineyards wine, we bought 6-7 bottles for a special cruise coming up. :) Seth took us inside one vineyard to watch the winemaking process, I was clueless what took place until now. We booked a wine tour for 3 people for my daughter's 33rd birthday, and Travis made the day exceptional. Met us in Old Town Temecula right on time. We went to two different wineries - Akash and Frangipani. Both are amazing places for different reasons, but I think Frangipani was my favorite. The views are amazing and so relaxing, the dogs (and kitty) were adorable, the people at the wineries are all so friendly, and the Petite Sirahs were lovely. Travis has so much knowledge to share about Temecula wine country - he really answered every question I thought of (and I do come up with some weird questions). LOVED the brie bread bowl he brought for us to the second winery - that was amazing (part of the "gastro" level tour). He also took us for a super fun, bumpy ride through one of the vineyards to a great lookout point, where we also had a glass and a toast. Totally above and beyond! My group of 7 did our tour a few weeks ago in the middle of the summer and we had the best time! We each purchased a $69 Groupon back in May and finally agreed on a date. Coming from San Diego, Yes, it was flippin HOT in Temecula! According to my car it was 105. But after a few drinks and great company that doesn't matter. Sara and Jesse were our very friendly, informative guides (aka:DDs)! They were very accommodating with our rowdy group after a few glasses. ;) The off-roading took us to the top of this mountain where they turned up the music and let us dance around! (Thanks guys! I went on this on a Saturday for the 2:30pm tour. Our driver/host was Sarah and she was soo soo soo great! Talk about a fun, outgoing, social person to spend the day with. She was very informative, and had a lot of patience with our group of girls. She dropped us off at 3 different winerys...... Hart, Miramonte, and Leoness. She kind of waited outside and would check in on us to see how we were doing. She took us off roading which was so much fun, especially when you've had a few glasses of wine in. I would say we were at each winery for a little bit over an hour. At the end of the tour she gave us the option of taking us back to old town or dropping us off at a winery for dinner. We chose to have dinner so we got dropped off, tipped her (well deserved) and said till next time! I would recommend this tour to anyone, and I would do it again. read more

Travis and Christy are super nice people. The issue we had was we paid about $400.00 for two people to experience a jeep tour and instead we were driven in a Cadillac. I understand that technical issues happen. And we were very understanding and actually felt bad but I was kinda disappointed that we were not offered any compensation. I am all for supporting small businesses but as a business when you are not able to keep and guarantee customer satisfaction then you must make the decision to either refund the customer, cancel on them or find alternatives to guarantee and ensure that they get the experience they paid for. We spent $376.00 to visit two wineries, 5 minutes to have "wine" at a vineyard and 2 small charcuterie boards.. by the time we were done it was 4:30 pm way behind schedule. At the end we were hungry and annoyed and just asked Travis to take us back to the hotel. Not worth it. read more

As I write this review I am saddened because I had a 5 star time but the lack of service and customer care refrains me from offering my referral. I took my wife and her friends on the Jeep wine tour for her birthday on January 25th. It was a Groupon I purchased for Wine, Off Roading, and Appetizers/Lunch. We were picked up on time and our driver was friendly (I'll refrain from using names so as not to offend anyone). We started at Bel Vino, not the best wines and more of a college party atmosphere. We let our driver know it was not our style and the wines were not to our liking. He quickly corrected course and took us to Leoness, Danza Del Sol, and Robert Renzoni. All were spot on choices. Here is where the trip goes south. On our way to the third winery we inquired about the food that was to be provided along the trip. We were told by the driver "Oh, is that still on the website? We don't serve food anymore, sorry no one told you." Now we all liqoured up and hungry because we didn't bring food, and we didn't eat, anticipating food would be provided. Not cool! Then it started to rain. Apparently off roading in the rain is not allowed, so this was understandable. The tour came to an end we had a few bottles of good wine to take home and tipped our driver handsomely. The major issues started to happen a month later. Since the Groupon experience was good we decided to take some friends on a tour. When looking on the business website we noticed they still offered food. I decided to email the company and tell them about our Groupon experience in January. They replied back a few days later and apologized for the confusion, stating "we still do offer food on our tours..." I was then offered some wine to be shipped to my house for the inconvenience. This seemed acceptable. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 months have gone by and no wine. Needless to say we have not returned or referred any business to this company because of the dishonesty we have experienced. I reached out to the company 2 months ago and as recently as last week. I finally decided to post my review after drafting and debating for several months. Like I said at the beginning we had a great time. But I feel we were taken advantage of and lied to too many times. You could have just as good a time with a DD or an inexpensive limo/towncar driver. Bought a Groupon a while ago and my bf and I finally used it yesterday. It was a great experience and I definitely recommend this company. We went to three wineries (6 tastings at each). We started getting tipsy after the first winery, so it's great having a driver taking us around! We went to Bel Vino first (good whites), then Leoness (good whites and reds), then Danza Del Sol (great whites and reds). If I were to rank them, it would be Danza Del Sol, Leoness, and then Bel Vino. I only wish we had done them in the opposite order because I was too drunk to have more than 3 tastings at the last one! Our driver was Jesse, and he was a lot of fun, I definitely recommend him. The off-roading was AWESOME! We even got to see sunset from a great view! Our server at Bel Vino was really attentive and talked to us a little about the wines, but the two other wineries (especially Bel Vino) were too crowded and it took a while to get servers' attention for each tasting. Just a heads up: you don't really learn anything about wine making--so if you are looking for something more informational, this might not be the tour for you. You are just taken to each winery and are on your own for about an hour at each. There is music at each winery, so it's pretty lively (might have been because it was a Sunday also). One of THE BEST times I've had IN MY LIFE!!! NO JOKE. Although I have not been on many, this wine tour was definitely the best one yet-and I highly doubt anything will top it. Tim was our driver/guide on the most awesome drunken wine adventure ever. Two of my girlfriends and I were met by jeep in Temecula. We picked up another couple on the way and took off to 3 wineries. Stuart Cellars Wiens Cellars Leonesse When we arrived at each of the wineries Tim would go get our wine glasses and tasting tickets, and then would help us get a place at the bar to begin tasting. He knew all the wine pourers (is that what they're called?) and who would hook us up. That was extremely helpful because this one chick barely gave us enough to sniff one of the wines, let alone taste it. Stuart Cellars allowed us 5 tastes-although our pourer dude hooked me up with a couple freebies, and the other wineries 6. Three wineries may not seem like alot, but with all of the tastings we did it seemed like more than enough to us. At the last winery (Leonesse) Tim gave us a cheese plate with a bunch of yummy cheeses, grapes, bread, tapanade, and jam. He brought the last tastings we had left out to us too (with some phahhhty ass pours!) and we enjoyed our snacks outside overlooking the Vineyard. We were than taken through the grape vines to the barrel room and had our very last tasting in there taken by funnel straight out of the barrel!!! So rad! We took in bunch of goofy pictures in there cuz we were all pretty wasted at that point! The absolute best part, though was the OFFROADING! In between the second and third winery, and after the third before we were returned to our cars, Tim took us on winding dirt roads in the vineyards...The views were breathtaking, and it was like a fun, bumpy rollercoaster!!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! He turned the music up loud and we were all singing along and being goofy. On the way back people in other cars were staring at us, it was classic... If you ever go wine tasting in Temecula-which YOU SHOULD, you HAVE TO go with Sunrider!!! And definitely ask for TIM, he's the man!! read more

So I guess it's true when they say that if you don't like wine, you've never had a good one. I had several spectacular wines (although I am no wine connoisseur) on my sun rider journey and each winery had exceptional service, regardless of whether you are a wine snob or a wine noob like myself. The day started at Starbucks where we were greeted, picked up, and introduced to the couple riding in our car with us. We were all slightly reserved, but that only lasted till the end of our first winery. From then on we were best pals. The company seemed to pair us with a couple our age, although I don't remember giving them that information, but it was very enjoyable. Our driver, Stein, was a pretty chill dude. He had great recommendations and wasn't to pushy or unnecessarily chatty. I feel like they base the number of wineries you get to tour based on how quickly you drink, and how well you can hold your alcohol. We got to tour 4 wineries, and with the exception of 1 of the wineries, we got 6 tastings at each. Each winery has a recommended way to sample the wines, but you can be a rebel and drink whatever you want. We opted for the morning tour so our first winery was completely dead and we got a ton of attention, but by our third winery, there was some competition with the other less than sober people to get a spot at the bar/tasting tables. Regardless, the service was still awesome and very friendly at all of the wineries. Lunch was was catered from Cosi, but we ate at the Leonesse Cellars. Beautiful winery, so so lunch. It was good to have something in my stomach though to soak up some of the alcohol. Overall, great trip the only thing I was disappointed was that we didn't get a tour of one of the wineries like I thought we were going to. My favorite winery was Robert Renzoni's, the Zinfandel was amazing and the pasta sauce....well I bought 4 jars if delicious delicious sauce. I would advise calling to see when the vines are going and being harvested since I hear they add a grape tasting to the tour. read more

We just came back from Temecula and LOVED this tour! Yes, it's a bit pricey, but we had such a great time, and it was worth it not to drive. Kristy was or tour guide, and did a fantastic job. I loved the fact that we did a few wineries that we off of Rancho California, but would have liked to see some of the smaller mom & pop type places. In the future we will request that, and I'm sure they will accomodate. We were in the jeep with 3 others, who honestly were a lot more reserved than us, so it was a little more mellow of a mood than I would have liked, but I don't blame that on Sunrider, nor did it take away from our fun. But it is something that, next time, I would do with a group of my peeps. And there will definitely be a next time! read more

Woot this as good as it gets! Not going to lie, my first thoughts when I read about the place. Wine? Okay okay I would rather have scotch but it will do. Jeep? Interesting concept, especially as I drive a Prius lol. Off-Roading? Hummm that sounds interesting, wait what! Alcohol + Jeep + Offroading = OMG it has to be insanely fun. And for the record, this tour lived up to it. First off, this was not only my first wine tour with Sunrider Jeep Tours but also my first wine tour ever (thanks to the Yelp deal) and I have to say it has been a while since I have had soooooo much fun! Our guide was the best tour guide to date (and no it was not just because he gave me free wine lol). First off, he was more than on time, even calling 30 minutes ahead to confirm the tour and meetup location, as well as arriving a couple of minutes early to the Starbucks. Once there, as we were waiting on some late comers, he took our lunch orders, which come from a place called Cosi (highly recommend their food - they BBQ Chicken Pizza was amazing as was their Italian Flatbread Sandwich). He was very friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and was spontaneous enough to remedy any issues that arrived on the tour such as the late comers and, once the tour actually started, feels like an adventure with the Jurassic Park music, it was just smooth sailing from there. As for the jeep itself, it seats six and the driver tour guide with one person in shotgun, three in the middle, and two more out in the back where there is no roof. Everyone on our tour was very amiable and we just rotated so that everyone got a chance to sit in the back (the best seat in the house). The drive to each of the wineries was quite short, about 10-15 minutes in-between, and once there you get about 5 to 6 different wine tastings depending on the place. Moreover, there is a short stint offroading which was a blast, especially with the Indian Jones theme song playing in the background! I swear those five hours flew by so fast that you wish you could stack these tours and continue for another five. I would highly recommend coming to try them out as it is a blast. Come for a birthday or two, a date or two, or just when you are feeling out like trying some new wines - any way you won't be disappointed as the tour is simply amazing and well worth the price! read more

This was a great way to tour the Temecula wineries. Wine tasting with no worries! I particularly liked the fresh air of riding in the jeep. Not as stuffy as a limo. A bit more adventurous and carefree! The jeep held six of us comfortably. My BFF and I met some kwell new people. One pair was a young couple on a date from San Diego. Another pair, was two fun ladies from Canada and Phoenix. We visited three wineries. Sang in the jeep. Went four-wheel driving through some dirt roads. Had a catered lunch. Then, were safely delivered back to our hotel! It was a great day! Salut! read more

It was my boyfriend's birthday this week, and we decided to go on a last minute day trip to Temecula. So before we left, I checked out yelp. And wine tours came up and then I saw the 5 stars for sunrider and thought that might be fun... So I called to see if there was anything available and yippee there was. I booked it for 2:30 with Kristy and we were set. Steen picked us up at our hotel Spring Hills Marriott promptly at 2:30. We picked up another couple and off we went to Wine Country. Stopped by 3 Vineyards.. Had some apps (wish there were bread or crackers) and then had a quick production tour. Had such a great time, I'm thinking of setting up a bachelorette party for my cousin in Temecula and doing this. Would highly recommend everyone to try this! read more

Great tour! We booked a tour 4 through Sunrider for my girlfriend's birthday. We chose the afternoon tour of Sat 1/21 (Thankfully!! It rained pretty bad in the morning). I made the reservation over the phone about a week or so in advance. I spoke with Nancy who was very informative and helpful. She talked me through certain options and then she even made suggestions about what else to do in the area. I was later able to modify my reservation quickly and easily by responding to their confirmation email. That was great. Sometimes it's easier to just send out an email than to pick up the phone and call. On the day of the tour, Travis called me about 15 - 20 mins before pick up time to introduce himself, confirm the pick up location, etc. He showed on time and after chatting for a few mins we were on our way to the first winery. Travis was full of info and fun to tour with. I liked his approach to getting us inside the winery, giving us some info and a few recommendations and then leaving us to ourselves to see the winery on our own (He never went TOO far - he was always available if needed). He had a pretty good selection of music that was fitting to the experience. You could tell he had done a tour a time or two before ours... haha. The girls I went with really loved the Indiana Jones theme as we began the off road part of the tour. The 3 wineries were good choices. I can rank them in order of what I liked best, but that's up to the individual so I'll leave that to you :) In closing, I liked this tour. It was great that they picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel, and the guide was cool. What more could you ask for? One thing I will suggest - if you are thinking about booking this tour and are looking for a hotel, stay away from the best western! read more

Loved Sunrider Jeep Tour! My 4 lovely girlfriends and I decided to kick off the new year with a tour around the Temecula wineries and chose Sunrider for this great adventure! Ben was our tour guide and he was simply awesome! Informative during the tour and was kind to laugh at our silly jokes. We visited 3 wineries, Leonesse being our favorite and where we had our lunch ordered from Cosi. It went by very quick but it was really the best and most fun way of seeing the beautiful wineries Temecula has built over the years. I would highly recommend this trip! Having been on various wine tours and tastings in the Temecula region for the past few years, my wife and I were searching for that extra-something to add to our usual wine tour trips. Back of a Jeep? Off-road? Interesting idea! The day we met up with the Jeep at the Starbucks in Old Town, there was a slight chance of rain - so we did not get to enjoy the ride with the top down. I tell you - the ride is a lot different with the top up. More on this later. The Jeep was on time, we exchanged handshakes, and the tour was on. The wine tour is just like any other - they take you to four or five different wineries, you take a tour of their facilities, and sample some wines. This process is pretty much the same for all wine tours in the area - only difference is the wineries they take you to. That extra-something was the Jeep ride. For someone who has a slight case of motion-sickness, this is not a good option. The bumpiness of the Jeep was, advertised, slight to moderate. It's not like we were climbing rocks at 50 degree angle. We were driving over unpaved roads - that's "off-road" in their books. Of course, with wine in customers' bellies, any more of rocking motion would not be a good thing. They keep the off-road portion to a minimum for that reason. It would have been different for my wife, who has a slight case of motion sickness, if the top were open. Plenty of air and open-space would have probably helped immensely. Unfortunately, weather is something no one can control. For her, being in an enclosed car, and being rocked "slight to moderate"-ly, was not a fun experience. Fortunately, when the tour ended, she was still in good spirit. She did not get too nauseous, she did not throw up, and she actually enjoyed her time. Sunrise - I went in with a 5-star expectation. Your driver was awesome, your wineries were great, and we had a nice time. However, I was hoping for more off-road driving - after all, that is "the thing" that you're advertising isn't it? You would get a three-star rating. At the same time, I'm thankful that your off-loading was limited to a small amount towards the beginning of the tour so no one would get nauseous. My wife thanks you for the gentle ride. So you get a star for that. This tour kind of has to be played by ear. If you're the type who can resist nausea well, and you're looking for an off-road adventure through the wineries, passing the grapevines next to you, this isn't quite it. On the other hand, if you've done the wine bus, wine limo, wine donkey, wine horse, and the wine segway thing - and you're looking for something with extra pizzazz, this might be it. read more

I enjoy trying new things and going to new places... when I decided to check out Temecula I found Sunrider Jeep and Wine tours on yelp and decided to go after all the great reviews. I got to say... temecula was kinda boring (i'm 20ish and i don't gamble) but this tour was the HIGHLIGHT OF MY TRIP! My tour guide was Nancy and she was FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC! The couple I went on tour with were fun and after my 6th glass of wine I was pretty tipsy. GO GO GO, TOTALLY WORTH THE $100... it's cheaper than getting a DUI! LOVE: -THAT THEY PICK U UP - OUR TOUR GUIDE WAS FUN, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND A GREAT PHOTOGRAPHER -THAT WE GOTTA DO A LITTLE OFF ROADING HATE: -THAT I GET THAT ASIAN GLOW TIPS: - I didn't get to do grape tasting but I think they have it during summer time? call in and ask.. that sounds pretty cool. read more
