JayDee L says it best and I wish I had read the review. "This 'business' holds profit over customer satisfaction. Add me to those wishing they'd read the yelp reviews first. (There's even more bad reviews on Google.) SunPlay seems to be running a scam starting with their website that says item is in stock and the price of said item is always ten to 20 dollars cheaper than elsewhere. After order (money) has been transacted towards them, they immediately garner your trust by sending an email stating that item will ship in a minimum/maximum of 5-7 days. Sounds reasonable until you later think 'why so long? It's right there in your warehouse; you must be understaffed?" You will call several times after that 7 days to which they will put you on hold to "see" if item is in stock in their "warehouse." Well, 'yes' it is in stock and will ship in 7 days max. To keep the 'hook' in longer, you might receive an email or two from SunPlay inquiring if you've received the item yet. In hindsight, those emails are very odd; after all, it's THEIR company initiating the shipping thus tracking numbers. It's no way to run a reputable business but apparently they seriously could NOT care less about said reputation - with hundreds of thousands of customer order monies running through their accounts they're either (a) incredibly inept in the most vital departments (b) buying & selling short-term stock items, or (c) part of a holding company that makes money when the sum total of all their holdings are making money. If some lose money, but the majority are making money, then the holding company is doing fine as a corporation. "Thank you for letting us hold your money; it's working for us." If you are not in ANY rush and willing to wait to save ten bucks, go for it. After all, YOUR time is THEIR money... Just be forewarned that the moment you open the package, SunPlay will immediately deem it to be "used" and therefore no refunds, defective or otherwise!" I agree 100%, well said JayDee L. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! I purchased a hot tub cover lifter from Sunplay on 4/5/17. The ordering process, delivery, product was all excellent. Unfortunately, it turned out I couldn't use the cover lifter so I returned it via FedEx to Sunplay following their exact instructions. FedEx confirmed package was signed for on 4/18/17. In early May, I realized they had not credited back the purchase price to my credit card. I called on 5/8/17, spoke with Whitney, who looked for my return and claimed it must still be at their drop off spot. She said Kim or Chelsey would call me. They never did. I called back two or three times over the next few weeks, someone would put me on hold, then come back and say the return was not in their warehouse. Finally on 5/25/17, they said the package was not there and FedEx must have delivered to wrong address. I went to FedEx, they gave me the name who signed for my package at Sunplay. Called Sunplay yet again, they claimed no one by that name worked there and I needed to file claim with FedEx. So I filed a claim with FedEx. FedEx researched it and denied the claim saying they (FedEX) delivered 4 packages that day and none of the other 3 package senders filed claims therefore it was delivered to the right place and the right company. I have since send all the documentation from FedEx claims to Sunplay and now they do not respond at all. I am frustrated beyond belief and have wasted hours of my time. Now it's a matter of principal. This has been the most disappointing, frustrating, and flat out aggravating on-line return I've ever had. Be VERY careful if you purchase through this company. I will not ever again. read more

They advertise a return within 5 day policy to get your money back for defective items. However the apply the warranty on a discretionary basis. I own a pool repair service which has been in business for 30+ years and we are a Pentair warranty repair facility. I ordered a control board for a customer which the day after receiving was deemed defective by Pentair via their pool professional service line. I asked SunPlay to exchange the item and their reply was I must have damaged it on installation. The decision was based on zero evidence since they did not ask for anything but the serial number. If they treat a pool service professional like this, be careful as a home owner. I will no longer buy items from SunPlay due to their flaky warranty policy. read more

Ordered 11 pm Friday received Tuesday 11 am. In perfect condition. The thing weighs about 200 pound. Excellent time frame I believe. I purchased the S8M 150 Sta-Right system 3 mod media cartridge filter 450 sq ft. Got her fired up last weekend. We have crystal clear pool water. could not be happier. So, only 4 stars ? I want to give five stars to sunplay and for the website ease of ordering, Delivery time, and a super quality product. But...a little freaked out on the delivery company sending a man out with no drop gate and no one to help unload. My wife was home. She helped him unload. They set it on the ground and he asks her, "do you posably have a have a dolly." wtf. Of course I have one. read more

I was a little skeptical at first about ordering a handful of different products from here after reading all the reviews online. I literally read hundreds of bad reviews about this company. I own a Swimming pool cleaning company out of Las Vegas and some parts and supplies have been hard to find here ever since the pandemic. So I ordered a few things on sunplay the first two days I did not get an email a phone call or anything I started to worry. On the third day I received a tracking number the package arrived within 2 days after shipping. I'm very satisfied with the products and the time frame! They just lack on response time and communication read more

I rarely write reviews - simply out of lack of time. But I am taking my time today to write a 5 star review for Sunplay because I can count on one hand how many businesses have treated me so well, that I actually came away wanting to spend more money with them just because I liked them so much. I have never in my life experienced such amazing customer service. If you need a part, buy it here - they responded instantly to all my questions, shipped items REALLY fast, and once the sale was over they didn't leave me hanging when I had more questions. Amazing company, amazing service. I'll be back. read more

I have worked with Sunplay pools for 10 plus years. They're wonderful from the owner to the technicians and sales personnel. Often times with larger companies you never have the opportunity to know the owner, not at Sunplay. John, the owner, is very involved with whatever needs I have. Throughout the years I have entrusted Sunplay to service my pool with whatever they feel is necessary. My pool is beautiful and so much fun. I would highly recommend Sunplay to service your pool, you won't be disappointed. THEY ARE AWESOME!!!!! read more

Horrible experience! I purchased a $3000 heater only to find out 10 days later it was suspected fraud so they cancelled my order. I called AMEX and it wasn't on their end. They suggested I purchase again with another card. It too was cancelled even though my CC said they approved it. The worst part is they have no way of reviewing why it cancelled, no accounting department. There is something fishy about this company. BEWARE and don't give them your personal info because I don't think they even know who processes it. read more

Derek Anderson came and opened our pool for the season. He was personable, fast and efficient. Hopefully, with all the chemicals he added, the slime green will soon be sparkling blue. This is the first year the water has been green when the cover was rolled back. It's a shock to see it looking like those on "Fixer Upper" but he promised it would be taken care of. Thank you, Derek. Keeping my fingers crossed! He also helped out with a problem on the hot tub. 5/24/2016 read more

Deceitful is the only way to describe this company!! Called and no one answers the phone. The only way to get hold of them is to do the on-line chat. After 30 min hounding them for where my order was, the "chat" person admitted that it was on "back order" - claiming they were getting "around" to calling their customers to let them know. My own opinion but it sounds like they are in a financial bind and may not be around much longer. read more

We've been customers of Sunplay for over 10 years. My 5 star rating is a direct result of the customer service provided by Derek Anderson. Without exception, Derek goes above and beyond! I know how hard he works and how busy he is but in spite of that he is extremely patient and helpful each and every time he comes to work on our pool. . I sincerely hope Sunplays management realizes what a valuable employee they have in Derek!! read more

BEWARE! Sunplay Pools & Spas does NOT care about customer satisfaction. The store manager said that I could return a pool clearner. But the store owner denied this and called me a LIAR. I just wanted to exchange for a more expensive model but he would NOT allow it. The owner told me that he would rather LOSE A LOYAL CUSTOMER than allow the exchange. DO NOT SHOP AT SUNPLAY. read more

It is not often that I am impressed with online retailers, but this one has is an exception. I purchased a pump for my Cal Spa hot tub. Not only was it excellent quality, but it was the cheapest price on the net, with free shipping and it arrived in 3 days. What more can you ask for? I will definitely purchase from Sunplay again. read more

The only reason for one star is I finally received my order. If you can't wait 3 weeks for Sunplay to fill your order, this is not the place to buy anything. There was no communication accept confirming the order. Called after a week, and they said the order was going out this week. 10 days later it was finally sent. read more

Unit showed up on time. Shipper issue though as they just left the damaged box on the driveway, yet Sunplays T&C says do not accept if box is damaged. I called them prior to opening to ensure they knew the story, but thankfully everything inside was just fine. Looking forward to seeing how it holds up this summer! read more

i did a google search.should of checked reviews.ordered $500 part,no tracking number,no emails,no phone call. i called them several times no one answers, left several messages no one will call you back, they take your money then will not send part or respond in any way to you.owner should be arrested read more

Went into the ogden store thinking I needed to replace my spas heater talked to the manager Johnny and was able to figure out that all I needed was a new nut that bolts in half went from thinking I was going to spend hundreds to spending less than 10 bucks read more

I had the pleasure of working with Derek. I had just purchased a new pump/filter for my above ground pool. When I would try to vacuum the pool, the pump would stop pulling water in. Within 3 min he had it fixed. He was awesome!! Thank you again Derek!!! read more
