But it is surrounded by development. There's absolutely no room for expansion. In the mid 80's, before the internet, it was the closest spot to get the Sunday editions of the Washington Post & New York Times. You had to be there early. Those papers sold out quickly. It's been a long time since I've been inside the store itself. My reason for choosing this spot was that it was the last day before my 7-Eleven Rewards fuel discount expired. There was no doubt that I would use this location. The App has started highlighting the 7-Eleven with the lowest price. Normally most in the Independence Corridor have the same price. But I noticed while doing errands that a 7-Eleven where I stop often had a pump price of $4.04. This location was $3.99. Since I had a 45 cents discount my price per gallon was a discounted to an amount that would have made me gasp a few months ago. My tank wasn't even near empty. But that wasn't a discount that could be missed.

Today I visited and most of the floor areas were sticky, especially in around the slurpee/coffee area. This has been occurring for too long. The line to check out was backed up 8-10 people the 20 minutes I was there. Appears a newer cashier that was not ready for prime time was put in charge. Once another woman came in she immediately needed help with hitting a wrong button on the cash register. I come here a whole lot, so this is over several visits. Today's experience would have been a 1, but I'm keeping it an average. If I continue to see negative service and cleanliness issues I will update and downgrade once again. Come on pull it together, there are too many other convenience stores to choose from.

This most recent experience at the Sunoco near my home has made it unequivocally clear that I will…read moreno longer be patronizing this location. Over time, I've tried to give this gas station the benefit of the doubt, but the repeated disregard for customers has become impossible to overlook. Most notably, when my family was visiting from out of town, we stopped by this location to grab a few items before heading out. Instead of being greeted with basic courtesy, we were treated with suspicion and discomfort. The woman behind the counter watched us closely, as if we were criminals, and proceeded to ring us up with an air of hesitation and visible discomfort, making all of us feel entirely unwelcome. We left regretting that we had spent any money there at all. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. On numerous occasions, I've encountered the male employee who is regularly distracted and inattentive--more interested in his phone than in assisting customers. His inability to focus delays basic services like setting the gas pump or completing transactions with efficiency and professionalism. The final straw, however, was the issue with defective vape products. I purchased a vape that, straight out of the packaging, gave a single puff and then stopped functioning--despite showing a full charge and juice level. I returned it and was given a replacement, only to have the exact same issue occur. Upon returning to the store after work to seek a refund or resolution, I encountered the same female employee from our prior uncomfortable visit. Rather than making a sincere attempt to resolve the matter, she offered no real help aside from saying the morning employee could assist me and to return when he was there. I did exactly that--only to be met with an indifferent and dismissive attitude. He informed me there was nothing he could do, stating that he had already done me a "favor" the day before. I calmly explained that the product was defective and that it was unreasonable for a customer to simply be out of their money due to the store selling faulty merchandise. He made it clear he had no intention of offering further assistance. In short, between the subpar customer service, the feeling of being unwelcome and scrutinized, and the blatant lack of accountability for defective products, I cannot recommend this Sunoco location to anyone. I will not be spending another cent there--on gas, lottery, or anything else. To anyone considering stopping here: do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. If you use vapes, skip the risk and go directly to a reputable vape store, where both the quality of the product and the customer service are held to a much higher standard.

Another great 7-Eleven experience! This may be my new favorite store…read more The 7-Eleven Rewards App offered me an added discount this week that was nearing the end of its window. Leaving Wegman's I searched for a 7-Eleven on my route home that had the lowest price. This station was the closest one. Taking my normal route out the back of the grocery store parking lot onto Columbus Street, I referred to my GPS as normal to avoid traffic problems. Expecting it to send me across Virginia Beach Boulevard into Aragona Village, I was surprised that it directed me to continue on Columbus until the road became Cleveland Street. Well OK, there must be traffic. So I followed the path. How surprising it was when the 7-Eleven quickly showed up on the northeast corner of the intersections of Cleveland & Aragona. The location was just west of the spot where Columbus becomes Cleveland. The station was clean and well maintained. It was built in the design of the newest 7-Elevens. Even though it's in a somewhat "off the beaten path" location, the pumps were quite busy at the late afternoon time I frequented the store. Others obviously had discovered the station, since I can't envision that it would be the normal route home for many individuals. My 7-Eleven Rewards gave me a 12 cent discount. Instead of the store's $2.94 price my gasoline cost $2.82 a gallon. So convenient was the ability to complete the entire transaction and receive the receipt on the App. There was no card swiping or choosing gasoline type required on the pump. That's all done on the App. All I had to do was to fill my car with gas. The cold groceries I had just purchased were kept cool because of the quick and easy fuel stop. This 7-Eleven is the perfect stop after visiting my grocery store of choice. I'll be returning quite often.
