It hasn't even been an hour since I left the Shell station but as I work in the hospitality industry, I feel those who go above and beyond what is expected of them to exceed client expectations deserves a Yelp and 5 stars. My state inspection was failed by a different company and I needed my front bumper fixed. Marc went out of his way to help fix the problem explaining what and how he was doing it. Once he fixed that, another employee, Mike, immediately performed the state inspection. They did everything they could without overcharging me and I was expecting to have to wait there for an hour or so but they worked fast! Thanks to them I had a wonderful experience and highly recommend them to anyone as they are kind, intelligent, and treated me like family my first time there. There's a welcoming, local community vibe to this gas station. People stopping by to get gas (or to get their car fixed) know the workers, and vice versa. I recently came here because my driver's side headlight was out and they were able to swap out the bulb and fix the light within 30 minutes. Incredible. During my visit, they noticed I could use some more antifreeze and filled me up without hesitation. How amazing!! I come here for gas all the time and I also to do my annual state inspection here. The inspection is $35 cash and it takes about 15 minutes start to finish.

I can't believe mandatory full service station still exist until yesterday. I told him that not only did I not see "full service" sign anywhere in the station, there are four pumps in total so there is gotta be one in which customers can just help themselves. He insisted that all four has pumps are full service only, and blocked my credit card repeatedly when I tried to insert it into one of the stations. In the end, I decided to leave and go to another station nearby instead. I'm not sure if this is a station specific policy or if this specific individual just wants to get tipped, but the experience was honestly bizarre. Forcing the full service during the time of covid when the entire station is empty is quite absurd. I understand there are full service stations in the state of New Jersey and maybe in the town of Weymouth, but this is Watertown in MA. I've never had someone forcing the full service in the years I've lived in MA. It was honestly one of the most ridiculous experience I have had at a gas station period. I was surprised to see her negative comments and questioned if this happened at this location. I say that because she ends with that there is Gulf station across the street. The Massachusetts Turnpike (and a bridge to get over it as part of the Newton Corner rotary) are across the street. There is a Honda dealer to the left and a Dunkin Donuts and liquor store to the right. There isn't a Gulf station nearby...the closest is probably three miles west in West Newton. I believe the customer who wrote the bad review is mistaken about the station and visited another station.
