I didn't have my jumper cables with me, so I walked over to the shop, and Charlie was kind enough to walk over to my car with me. He managed to get my car started, and realized that it only needed a new battery. Charlie and his team happened to have a fiat battery in stock (!!!), changed it immediately, and had me on my way ASAP. I am so lucky to have broken down right next door, and it was even luckier that Old Town Shell happened to be open on a holiday- they even got me back on the road when they were starting to close up for the night. Their prices were also very fair. I cannot thank you enough! I recommend that everyone check out this little shop if your car is in need of some service.

I waited about 15 min and a man who had been working on the car in the bay, walks out toward me and yanks the handle of my car to open it very rudely & aggressively. He couldn't open it because it was locked but my window was down and he says very rudely to me "You need to hurry up people are waiting!" I'm floored... no one has spoken to me since I've been waiting, so for this to be our first exchange was just bizarre to me. I told him that no one has spoken to me yet or told me I was next.... I open the door to get out and he rushes into my car... still hasn't spoken to me in a way you would a customer... and pulls my car forward into the bay. I was literally standing there with my mouth open. I wasn't told what to expect, how long it would take... NOTHING! Steve, I believe you are the owner & the one I'm referring to. Rude doesn't even describe your actions today. I was shaking when I drove off honestly because I just couldn't believe that anyone, let alone a woman would be treated this way. Your customer service was non existent & honestly if I could have gotten myself together I would have never had the service done there. Do better!

As such, I drove over early on a Tuesday morning, and got in line before their 7:30 AM start time (first come, first served). Three (3) vehicles were in front of me. To their credit, they were quick and efficient. I could also see many of the folks were repeat customers based on the obvious familiarity. Bottom line, they completed my inspection by 8:15 AM, spending no more than 10 - 15 minutes per vehicle. I was especially relieved to see the care they took to not ding or scratch a vehicle. I certainly would recommend Yates to others based on the experiences of my wife and I. I will be back!

While the inspection line was long (5 cars in front of me and 6 cars behind), it was taking too long. I understand not everyone can do inspections, but it was frustrating to see several mechanics in the empty bays, without work to do, and not helping out the single inspector who was obviously drowning in work. I might look stupid, but I am not that stupid! I declined the service. We have taken my wife's car to Del Ray Service Center for the past few years. I knew I could trust them for an honest assessment of my brakes. I left Passport Infiniti and went straight to Del Ray Service for a second opinion. They were busy when I walked in, but they took the time to take a close look at my brakes. They assessed that my brakes are good for at least another 20k miles. It is sad that the dealership Passport Infiniti that I bought my car from has such a dishonest service department. The great thing is that the people of Alexandria have an honest Mechanic at Del Ray Service Center that they can go to and get a truly fair assessment of their vehicle. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, talented and great Service Center.
