Had to get my husband's car inspected/emissions today because it wasn't allowing us to do our registration without it. We've been coming here for the last 2 years and have had no problem. Today we came (5.24) and it was super fast. We came in as another car just went in which was pretty fast. Once our car went in it took us about 14 minutes(i used a stopwatch). read more

Mt Vernon Sunoco - Hours and cost - Auto Repair Near Me - Alexandria, Virginia

Today I went to the Mt. Vernon Sunoco to have my emissions testing done. There was a car in the bay already so I pulled up to where it was indicated to get in line. I waited about 15 min and a man who had been working on the car in the bay, walks out toward me and yanks the handle of my car to open it very rudely & aggressively. He couldn't open it because it was locked but my window was down and he says very rudely to me "You need to hurry up people are waiting!" I'm floored... no one has spoken to me since I've been waiting, so for this to be our first exchange was just bizarre to me. I told him that no one has spoken to me yet or told me I was next.... I open the door to get out and he rushes into my car... still hasn't spoken to me in a way you would a customer... and pulls my car forward into the bay. I was literally standing there with my mouth open. I wasn't told what to expect, how long it would take... NOTHING! Steve, I believe you are the owner & the one I'm referring to. Rude doesn't even describe your actions today. I was shaking when I drove off honestly because I just couldn't believe that anyone, let alone a woman would be treated this way. Your customer service was non existent & honestly if I could have gotten myself together I would have never had the service done there. Do better! read more

Mt Vernon Sunoco - The extremely RUDE owner doing my emissions - Auto Repair Near Me - Alexandria, Virginia

Fairly new to area and needing auto inspection. This place was great!! I think I have found a new "my garage" for auto work...

I took my car in for the emissions inspection. It failed and the technician checked it out and found that it would cost more to fix the problem than the car was worth. I appreciate the honesty and fairness. read more

I never really stopped and thought to review anything but a restaurant but this place is exceptional! I drive by here all the time and they always seem to have the lowest gas prices how long route one. It's been a few years now since I decided to get my car inspected there and I'm glad that I did, they are always friendly faces, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and trying to help you out, especially that tall state inspector guy...I think a couple of them might actually be brothers. It's the kind of place that you want to support, swing by this place and it'll be your new go-to. read more

yeah, yeah it's a gas station. What can you say about it? The people working here are friendly. Good vibes here. 'nuf said. read more

Excellent! Excellent customer service and fair prices. Brought my car in for a state inspection and the gentleman was just that, a gentleman. They are all extremely nice and gas is a good price, which is a plus! read more

I have lived in Alexandria for over 15 years. Have been to this business for inspections for many years. I have always thought that these 2 guys had a fair business going. Not till today after having bad customer service and disrespectful people. Steve the sole called owner doesn't know how to speak to customers. He was very rude. I was trying to explain to him why was my inspection rejected over something so small. Not because there was a problem with my car but because I have clear covers on my tags and my tints. I have a medical form that states I can have it. Instead of him asking me to show him. he rejected my car. so I when to another inspection. showed the gentleman my info online because I didn't have the printout and passed my inspection. talking to Steve was a waste of time. He doesn't listen and pretty much made me feel that because I'm a female Hispanic and his american I mean nothing. I will never do business with there again. read more

Wanted to give a big shout out the the crew at The Mount Vernon Sunoco. The staff is friendly and my mechanic, John D is honest and did a phenomenal job on my vehicles last month with the repairs I needed on my Jeep, Tundra and Honda Accord. The quality of work is bottom line, OUTSTANDING!!! He assessed the repairs needed, communicated the costs and did all the work in an efficient manner. It is priceless to find a trustworthy mechanic and I highly recommend John and the others at this station. Friendly, fast and first class! Keep it up. read more

CAR OWNERS BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!! This is my last time coming here I have been trying and trying to give them chance after chance to redeem them self's but when the owner charges for air and then takes air out i question what his motives are. It's a brand new truck and I'm a guy just imagine what women go threw with a used car,FYI under inflation causes premature tire wear aka back to get new tires before you should. And to make it worse I paid for free air because there free machine wouldn't go above 50psi and my truck states I need 75 all around. read more

After trying several local repair shops, I found this gem! Prompt, professional and efficient service. Rates are good. Coupons available on website. They have serviced my Hyundai (with 70k miles) and my Mercury (with 175k miles). They have performed a break job on both vehicles and a tune-up on the Merc...always only charged for what I needed. I appreciate Rafael's (the mechanic who worked on my car), work ethic and professionalism. I am a repeat customer and will continue to be. Highly recommended. read more

Mt Vernon Sunoco - Auto Repair Near Me - Alexandria, Virginia

I have been a customer for many years. Being single it is best for me to go to a repair garage within walking distance. That way I can drop off my vehicle and walk home. Mt Vernon Sunoco is about 1 mile from my home. They did work on my sons 2005 Chevrolet Equinox. The brake system has not been maintained the right way. They brought in the vehicle and diagnosed the brake issues. My son was told before by another mechanic his car needed new rotors for the front brakes. It needed new rotors for the front and new drums for the back (They were the ones from 2005). It also needed a new master cylinder and brake bleeding. Basically an almost new system all the way around. There were new pads by a friend of the family, an out of work mechanic working at home. My son was involved in a quick stop by the car in front of him the very next day. His brakes worked flawlessly! Steve H read more

Had my car inspected and the person did not wear a mask or gloves. Hello, there's still a global pandemic? I thought it was extremely inconsiderate, considering that he went into my car, touched and breathed on everything. I felt unsafe getting back in. I expect more of professionals right now. read more

Love this place!! Tried so many other mechanics and always feel I'm getting ripped off. These guys are very honest and do great work. I have an old car that needs work and I always take it to John. read more

Wow gas is 4.11 a gallon.... The inside is very small with an auto repair attached. First place I saw prob should have gone to the shell may have been a better place. Oh well, gas is gas. read more

I am glad that I was recommended to go here by a family member that lived in the area. I have been trusting them with my vehicles for 5 years now and they have always been honest and to the point. Everytime I go in, unsure of the problem, they get the right problem fixed every time. They have always been the best value for service and even though I now live approx. 30 miles from them, I still take my car there before anywhere else could imagine seeing me. The previous posters are correct, Rafael and John both are standout guys that don't take advantage of customers. They have fixed various problems from my Dodge Durango, Dodge Ram, and Cadillac DTS. No job has been too big for them. Just go there once and I promise you will become a customer for life. I have. read more

I really like this place. I've been a regular customer there, for gas and repairs, and have never been disappointed. The owner, Steve, is very personable and helpful, as are the staff. read more

We have been coming here for over 20 years. The same brothers run the shop and Rafael is still there- he used to work on my car when I was in high school (MV). Very trustworthy- don't listen to the other posts- I think they own the shell down the street that only accepts rupees and rips you off. :-) read more

This place is a rip-off. I took my car in for an inspection and was told that I needed a new axle. $400 later, I left with a car shaking so hard I could barely drive. I went straight to my mechanic and was told I needed the same axles replaced. The only reason I gave them one star is because Yelp won't allow ZERO STARS. read more

Rafeal Naradiaga and John Davis are guys you will swear by, not at (like the sign up the highway says.) I have a Land Rover, and always take my car to them bcs even with the warranty I pay of the wazoo. After Land Rover tells me whats wrong, I go to them to double check, usually nothings wrong, its bogus up-charges from the dealership. They can order and pick up parts for any car and I trust them with the safety of myself and my child. I don't feel like they try to over-sell me. And they are quick and most importantly honest. I feel like I should tip them, or bake them cookies. I saw a woman bring cookies in for them one time, and thought man, that says something. :D YAY SUNOCO, for saving me thousands, and helping me actually afford my Land Rover. Love you guys! read more

Very bad customer service, refuse to take legal us currency. They don't even deserve one star. I don't recommend this place to anyone.

Customer service and politeness ceases to exist after 6:00 pm when the owner leaves. Several of the employees are very rude and curt with customers. The mechanics seem to spend more time on the phone then working on customer vehicles. read more
