I needed a smog check and I've passed by this place many times and figure I'd call to see if I needed an appointment. Nope, he said they just opened and to come on in. So I did and the gentleman who helped me was very friendly and competent, was finished with the paperwork and service within 15 minutes and that was it. Worst Smog Check Experience Ever. Save yourself the headache and go ANYWHERE else. The shop worker is incompetent and just doesn't care. If I could give 0 stars, I would. This place is an absolute nightmare. I went in for a smog check for the third time because he prioritizes non Groupon customers and the wait is always so long. When he finally got to my car, he acted like he was doing me a favor. Then, as if the wait wasn't bad enough, he tried to charge me a $20 "luxury vehicle fee"--for my 13 year old Lexus sedan. Buyer beware! I found this shop through Groupon and was so disgusted by how rude, lazy and unprofessional the man was, I didn't use my Groupon at all and went elsewhere. He tried to negotiate an extra fee, at first it was $20, then he said "okay, $10," he has no scruples and absolutely no regard for customer service. I would not trust this man to do a good job, and it's especially concerning he's responsible for getting truthful information to DMV. Excellent service, highly recommend! It's a little hidden, behind the big car wash. Went without appointment on Tuesday, there was just one person being helped before me, didn't take long. Waiting area is clean, plenty of chairs, magazine, little coffee station. I printed a coupon from their website, it was honored, no issues. Service was quick. Then I was told about this ridiculous "fine print." I got to this place because of good price from Groupon. Thursday, 1:45pm. Fat guy (owner?) was sleeping and wasn't happy when I woke him up. Only got to the car and said it won't pass smog check because "it has exhaust leak and I should fix it first". My car is 2005 and does drip a bit of oil which burns on hot engine with some smell. That's for more than 5 years and I never had problems with smog check. Asked guy to conduct check anyway, he refused. Moved to smog check station nearby and for $3 more passed no problem. I'm glad Groupon refunds unused $$ no questions asked. Would never go to this "bite and switch" guy again read more

Two words to describe the behavior of the customer service I dealt with 6/10 "extremely rude"!! No doubt at all this guy's behavior was rude. Will find another place where I will be talked to in a respectful and courteous manner. In response to the MANAGER'S feedback, TECH GUY WAS THE FIRST TO GET ANGRY AT ME for not waiting to sign the paper. [He CAN'T ASSUME everyone knows to sign paperwork especially if it's someone's 1st time to get a smog test or customer(s) might have things on their mind] He should have been more specific and informative from the get-go, told me he will give me paperwork to sign, and wait in the "waiting" room. When I first arrived at the shop, he asked for my paperwork which I gave him. I asked how long it will take. He said "15 minutes"; and there's a waiting room. Tech guy never said anything about waiting to sign a paper. I went across the street instead to a restaurant to wait because the seats in the waiting room were dirty. When I came back, tech guy was angry FIRST, lashed at me with an angry tone of voice that he was waiting and looked for me to sign paperwork. I defended myself and said I didn't know/realize I had to sign any paperwork. Tech said that there's paperwork all the time and that I should know. I told him he should've told me that. We both went back and forth but he was ANGRY FIRST!!! I don't care who collaborated with the tech guy but I am telling the TRUTH! (I know who that guy is because he went to the Tech guy as I was leaving, said something to him, and was laughing out loud). I'm not surprised he collaborated with the Tech guy--not surprised at all. I defended myself because tech guy continued to be rude and angry, he tried to give me back my keys TWICE and didn't want to do the job. I told him I came there to get my car checked and he should do it for me. Yes, that is when I became angry because he was giving back my keys twice and didn't want to do the job just because I was defending myself against his angry tone of voice & extreme rudeness. If Tech guy approached me in a nicer tone of voice, there would not have been a confrontation. It escalated when he continued his rudeness against me and tried to give me back my keys twice and didn't want to do the job. There's a lot of classes on how to approach customers when misunderstandings are made. I feel the Tech guy and collaborator needs to take these classes. I've dealt with a lot of businesses and never in my life had anyone approach me in such an angry, rude, verbally attacking behavioral manner. What I've written is the truth and nothing but the truth!!! I've decided to take my business elsewhere; and actually found one that has a lot more nicer reviews. No one has commented on any rudeness by their employees. MR. MANAGER, if you look at your reviews, there are others who have described customer service at your place as "rude". Also, I've seen other Manager's reviews from other businesses that gives the customers a suggestion to call them and NOT make negative remarks against customers. I feel you all should take classes on how to deal politely with customers. Where I'm from the United States of America, we believe in good customer service and be treated with respect especially when trying to support businesses. I came in 45min before closing on a Thursday for a smog test. My experience started off with the man working greeting me by bluntly telling me to sit down. I waited for 5-10min until he called me up. He asked me for my paperwork, didn't explain much to me, and then started ringing me up for over $80. I told him I had a groupon and he said I should've told him before.. but I had no idea what he was doing to share that. He also remarked how they make no money on the groupon which I wasn't sure how to feel about because they offer the groupon by choice obviously. My car ended up passing and I didn't have any issues when I went to the dmv with the verification code. Overall the whole experience was lacking in friendly customer service. With numerous options to choose from, I wouldn't plan on returning in the future. read more

I went there with a Groupon. The technician and I were looking at the coupon together, and during that process by mistake I pressed redeem. This was a mistake and I asked the merchant to correct it immediately. They acted very rudely and said they cannot talk to their manager to have it corrected and that they themselves are responsible for the business. Not letting customers speak to a manager or not taking responsibility. Both red flags for a business that just doesn't care. I informed Groupon of a fraudulent charge (which they refunded me) and decided to take my business elsewhere. read more

I have to be honest I wasn't expecting that, but am very touched by the kind gesture. I am not changing my rating because of the fifteen dollars, but because of the fact that they reached out to me and my family seeking nothing, but to try to make things right with me, the customer. I would consider going back 2 years from now for my next smog check, just more prepared for the weather next time. There was no one else there but every other chair in the waiting room is turned around so it's easy to maintain social distancing and they have a table, chairs and easel set up for kids. What a waste of time. The customer service was terrible. I was helping my 62 year old mother SMOG a 2000 VW Beetle. Not only did they take payment before letting us know that the car had failed, but when asking about a free retest, they said it would be an additional $29.95. I've never had a place charge for a retest or be so rude/disrespectful. Oh and, if your car requires a STAR TEST ONLY certificate, they charge an extra $10. If you have an older car make sure that you drive it around for a half an hour or so on the freeway to get it warmed up and pass the test. I have two '97 Corollas. and once I started warming them up they have never failed to test in the last 5 years even improve the test. read more

The technician/owner of this smog check station told me that i don't need it since the car is fairly new and also gave me a print out from his system that said the same thing.
