There's not all that much else but it's still okay though. Features include a few athletic fields such as baseball. In the open green space you can play other sports. There's also a lot of room for other things. People like to come walk their dogs. There's seriously a lot of them. Lots of dogs means lots of something else. Take a look before you step in poop. Also there's a pretty big hill. It's really good for sledding. The park is pretty small but it still has plenty of trees.

I love the safety ground that covers the play area. I wish all parks could have this. I think it's made from recycled rubber and it's a little bouncy. So the tumbles that toddlers take have less of a chance for serious injury. The slide, miniature train, the rocking train/fire engine and plane kept my son amused for such a long time, he even ignored our calls for ice cream when I came back with Gelato from Black Dog just across the street. In fact he ignored me and my husbands calls when it was time to leave too. There are benches, a nice shaded area and a grassy area. And the large water sprinkle area for the kids to cool off. The park is gated so if you have a fast-breaker, they can't get too far. So glad we found this park!

Simons Park is one of the many smaller parks around here. A lot to do here especially for children. There's a playground and spray pool among the best things. A lot is going on in this park if looking for events. It's got a long list of activities including baseball, basketball, and boxing leagues. This is popular because of the spray pool in summer. Before this was a park, it was farmland. In 1920 the park was established, and soon the fieldhouse would be opened. A gang in the 1950s called themselves Simon City. The park was in their territory. After merging with another gang, they became the Simon City Royals, and were infamous. The neighborhood changed for the better, and they would leave it for other places. Good place for the children to play and get involved in athletics. It has plenty to choose from. This is also a popular spot to cool off in summer.

From that moment on, the children in my daycare have benefited tremendously from activities such as Tot Spot at Simons, arts and crafts, and many other enriching programs. Since Monique took over the administration of the park, we have consistently used the facilities, and her dedication to the community has been exceptional. She is warm, welcoming, and truly committed to serving families. Our children adore her and Rafi, and they always feel happy and safe when visiting the park. Throughout the winter, spring, and fall, Simons Park provides us with a valuable indoor and outdoor space that supports the children's motor development and overall growth. We have also rented the space for different events, which has been incredibly helpful for our daycare program. Maybe the history is better than the park itself. The current features include baseball fields, basketball courts, and other facilities for playing. Before this was a park, it was site of the Nicholas Kranz homestead and inn called the Seven Mile House. It's been said that Abraham Lincoln attended a caucus of local farmers during his 1860 campaign for President. The sculptor Charles Keck created a statue. As for the other parts of the park, there's plenty to do for athletes. There's also the ADA approved playground. It has a water spray feature. This and the high school are named after Nicholas V. Senn. He was a physician and the founder of the Association Of Military Surgeons Of The United States, and was a President of the American Medical Association. The experimental research performed by him included acute pancreatitis, head and neck oncology, the intestinal tract, leukemia treatment through x-rays, and plastic surgery. Has a pretty busy location. It's on Ridge close to Clark and Thorndale. This is often busy with students, but it's also okay for younger children, and the facilities are open to the public or whoever.

This was easy to get to from there and was quite nice! One thing that stood out was the whole playground is enclosed by a gate, so you don't have to worry about your youngest ones waddling and toddling off. Decent amount of shade in some spots, others blistering with a shiny metal slide, so it's a roll of the dice. There was bike parking right out front which came in handy, and the setting all around it was safe, natural, and lovely. For whatever reason, my girls love most playgrounds but they didn't want to stay here too long. They sort of bopped around and tried each thing and were happy to call it a day. Definitely recommend this whole area though, and this is a nice stop in Lincoln Park.

Most kids started out going really slow, and after going down dozens of times my 3 years old was going really fast. So much fun, I went down it a lot too. Swing areas for babies and bigger kids. Tunnels to go through, logs to climb, sitting areas, a porch style swing and so much more. It's really a blast. My 1 year old was also having fun and I bet older kids would too. I'm so glad it's open and I can't wait to go back. Kudos to everyone that helped make this happen and to the designers. It's a blast!!

There's tons of bench seating so it's easy to get a large group together. I've seen neighborhood fun runs organize and start their day here and just about any group that wants to gather outside can benefit from it's open space when the weather is nice. I like walking through the little red gazebo and seeing a few birds and squirrels on my way to Horner Park's farmer's market on Saturday mornings. It's nice to have so many small and very useful parks in Albany Park / Ravenswood.

Based on the kids' reactions and my keen observations, this is a great little neighborhood park. There are plenty of swings and a couple of large play systems (which I ignorantly referred to as jungle gyms...I'm so 1980.). The kids had a blast, and the other folks in the park were very friendly. Pluses for adults with or without kids: Merle's coffee shop is a half block away if you want something to sip on while watching your kids. Additionally, there is often live music on the weekends and even a play or two during the week!
