my child started going here for head start at around 3 and continued the program up until he was…read moredropped from the program for having a disability, they claim they didn't drop him because of his disability and they claimed it was attendance but didn't even give my son or me the chance to work on his attendance! they have new management and people that don't know my son or I very well and they completely made me and my son feel as if we dont matter! every other parent and child got a month to fix their attendance, my son wasn't given 12 hours before they completely dropped him! I dony recommend this place for children with autism or any other disabilities , they are extremely understaffed and there is not enough help to properly watch your children!!!! My son was thrown out for having autism, he was not given the month everyone else was to fix attendance and refused to work with my child, it's very sad to see a place like this turn into something that doesn't benefit our children.

They also have a food pantry for local residents in need. If you would like to donate food or anything else like clothing, books, etc., please contact them. I went to Albany Park Community Center as a kid, for their after school program and extracurricular activities. I commend the center for being so involved in the Albany Park community, which is the 3rd most ethnically diverse neighborhood in the U.S. My family eventually became friends with one of the volunteers there, and we invited her and her family to our family gatherings over the years. They had International Night, where every family brought their own dish. Just think of it as a really big potluck. I had my first taste of kimbap there and was hooked for life! Overall, it's a wonderful community-based organization that offers programs for everyone - young and old.

What a hidden gem in the northside Chinatown on Argyle! It took the wonderful Stir Friday Night's…read moreresidency to bring me to enjoy their wonderful variety show (every other Friday night) at their new residency here. The venue is comfortably spacious, clean, organized and offers a delicious array of coffees, matcha, teas and I highly recommend the tasty delicate pork croissant banh mi. Highly encourage your patronage and support of Stir Friday Night, longest running Asian American comedy troupe for over 30 years, now led by the talented and devoted director, Jonathan Lee-Rey. Famous alumni include Steven Yuen, Danny Pudi, Suzy Nakamura and many others. Plenty of tables, lounge areas to relax and enjoy a bite and drink etc. Metered and valet parking available.

The evening we went they had a singer, 2 comedians, a local business, and some of the Stir Friday Night cast doing their thang. Haibayo was slinging the drinks and snacks including some drink specials. Jeremy C. had the Vietnamese iced coffee, I had the mango sticky rice drink, and we shared the croissant banh mi which I might actually enjoy more than an actual banh mi?? Is that even possible?? The vibes in the cafe/community space are so cool, one of the most unique spots I've been to in a while. All around an entertaining evening in a really neat spot with unique and tasty food and drinks. They're currently hosting these events every 2 weeks, be sure to check out Stir Friday Night's website to book tickets! But really also just stop by to visit this place during their actual open hours during the day because it's so chill and cool.

They claim to be a civil rights organization that protects…read moreand defends the Muslim community, but when you come to them bleeding for help with concrete evidence--police reports, body cam footage, and clear proof of civil rights violations by the Skokie Police Department--they completely abandon you. My wife is a Muslim, and our civil rights have been violated multiple times. We came to CAIR-Chicago for a bridge of help. Instead of acting immediately, they dragged their feet for literally 5 weeks, only to call us back and casually say, "Oh, we don't do these kinds of cases." Why take over a month to say that? Why build false hope while a family is suffering? This is a fake establishment that hoards community resources and publicity but provides zero actual help to the victims who need it most. They speak with deceptive, empty words. I hope Allah evaluates your actions and holds you accountable for the pain you cause families by abandoning them in their time of need. To the leadership and staff who run this place, remember the words of Allah in the Quran regarding those who claim righteousness but do the opposite: "And of the people are some who say, 'We believe in Allah and the Last Day,' but they are not believers. They [think to] deceive Allah and those who believe, but they deceive not except themselves and perceive [it] not." (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:8-9) And remember His warning to those who turn away from establishing justice and helping the wronged: "O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives." (Surah An-Nisa, 4:135) Shame on you for your five weeks of silence and your ultimate betrayal of a family seeking justice. Allah is the ultimate judge, and He sees exactly what you do behind your closed doors.

With one and soon to be two kids at RC4, we have only positive things to say about this daycare…read more The lead teachers/caregivers are uniformly excellent and well prepared - our daughter has loved each of them as she's grown up there. The rooms are well maintained and well stocked with appropriate toys/activities as is the small playground. The building is clean and functional but not super fancy, as you would expect from being an extension of a community church, but all perfectly appropriate for a daycare. Like most child care in Chicago the price is high but very competitive compared to other facilities in the area. We also love how plugged into the community RC4 is, specifically the weekly farmers market in their parking lot in the summer. Our only quibble is with some of the sick policies that can be more restrictive than the recommendations of local health authorities, but this is a relatively infrequent annoyance. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a daycare!
