The restaurant told us they wanted to charge $25 just to cut the cake. I understand restaurants may have policies, but this felt excessive and really took away from the experience. When I asked if we could simply sing happy birthday and cut the cake ourselves, we were told no. Instead, they brought out one of their desserts for the celebration, which honestly made no sense because we didn't even want it and ended up leaving it untouched. What disappointed me most was not even the fee itself, but the lack of flexibility and customer experience. Sometimes creating a memorable and welcoming experience matters more than enforcing a policy so strictly. Sadly, this experience completely changed how I feel about the restaurant. They lost a loyal customer, and I personally won't be returning.
