So having seen a few events at Just Salad and everything looking so healthy and fresh, I had to come check it out. I was in for a treat. After taking a look at all the delicious options, I went with the warm chicken and goat cheese bowl. I decided on some add ons and substitutions like the chicken breast and cauliflower. Also went with the low caloric yogurt cucumber dressing which was amazing. I love that they have all the calorie counts for their dressings on display. Swizzled some hot sauce on it too for kick. Such a nice combo for me. The balsamic mushrooms are so tasty. They carry poppi soda and some pretty good smoothies. I tried the peanut butter protein sans agave syrup. It had a wonderful nutty taste due to the hemp seeds and pumpkin seeds. The ambiance is very nice too for cafeteria style. They are very eco friendly and their delivery pick up area is so organized. It could have used more chicken, but overall had decent taste and it beat having to resort to fast food. Had to ask to share seating because there were no available spots during the lunch rush hour. What a disaster trying to order. I was there for a Yelp event, but also purchased a different meal on my own. They have a Sesame Street promotion with character bowls for the kid's meals, so I asked if I can purchase a bowl separately. The person taking my order said that the bowl usually comes in the Sesame Street bowl but I can also purchase it separately and I said okay. We then had about 7 exchanges back and forth because the person thought that I wanted the food in the Elmo bowl. Eventually, I realized that was what she was saying and we clarified that. I ordered the spicy tofu crunch bowl and asked for no edamame. I looked away as she was making my bowl and when I looked at it again, lo and behold, there was a huge pile of edamame on my bowl. After the whole Elmo fiasco, at that point I just figured it would be easier to pick out the edamame while I was eating it. Then it was time to dress the bowl. She asked if I wanted light, medium, or heavy dressing in which I asked for light dressing with some on the side. Of course when I got home, there was no dressing on the side. Now, when it was time to pay, as she was telling the the person at the register what I ordered one would think she would have mentioned that there was a yelp meal as part of my order. The ingredient selection is impressive, the dressings have the perfect consistency and flavor (I combined 3 , honey mustard, Caesar, and cilantro), they have big portions, fresh ingredients which made for the perfect bite every time. The chicken thigh was juicy, the jammy egg was boiled to perfection. The ratio of toppings was even throughout the bowl. The cookie was amazing too, with large chunks of chocolate, not too expensive, and a nice and small portion, the perfect sweet ending to a great meal. I am a huge fan of salad restaurants that serve something healthy and light. The fact that they also make homemade salad dressing also called my attention, so I made sure to request the balsamic vinaigrette made in house. I hate to give negative reviews but the last couple of experiences here have really bummed us out. We loved Just Salad when they first opened.... So much so that we made it a Friday tradition. My husband's GPS automatically asks him if he wants to navigate there on Fridays after work. The last couple of times there have been components missing from the salad and the last visit, we waited so long for our salad that the manager intervened and asked why a customer was waiting so long. This most recent visit, my salad was missing multiple components and had no dressing. It was just a bowl of lettuce with a minimal amount of chicken and sweet potato. I ate the protein (which was literally about 4 small pieces) and had a couple of bites of the greens but it wasn't a meal. We called to inform them of the issue and after some insisting, we were offered a credit. I would have appreciated a refund, as we are now having to order food elsewhere. Not sure if the decline in the quality is related to new staff, but it's very noticeable, as we've been customers since they opened. Hope they are able to turn it around! read more
