I wanted a poke spot on south beach and this was the closest. I was really hoping that it would be good and it was ! The spot is right in front of the fresh market. There is plenty of parking there. The poke bowl was so light and refreshing. It wasn't over done with un needed sauces or spices. I'm definitely going to grab some poke from here again! It was decently priced. I was so happy to see they were open this past weekend as we were biking past. There were no customers so my friend and I took turns giving our order as the other waited outside with our bikes. Craved it so much days later went into and have been patron at the Sunset Harbour location. Anytime I'm there I ask other people ordering and each has been a returning happy customer. I'm from Los Angeles and it is very hard to impress me with Poke, but wow this place was great. I did a create your own with spicy tuna and Kani. Had lunch at Sunny Poke on Sunday afternoon. Selected the Create Your Own Bowl with Spicy Tuna as my protein. Quality Always searching for a great poke bowl, I stumbled on Sunny Poke and knew I had to check it out. None of the signature bowls stood out to me, so I decided to go with the Create Your Own Bowl. They start with a selection of white rice, brown rice, mesclun salad, or noodles. This was the first place I have seen noodles as an option, but I still stuck with my standard white rice. For fish the choices were kani kami, tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, and inari tofu. Once again I appreciated the different choices, but still went back to spicy tuna. But, after seeing them scoop it out I immediately regretted my decision. I find I do not like how the pre-mixed spicy tuna looks or tastes. I wish I had selected just the standard tuna, as the spicy tuna was not as fresh as I would have hoped. Seventeen assorted toppings then follow with the tempura crumbs, pickled red onions, and edamame among the best ones I added in. For sauce I went with spicy mayo and wasabi aioli, though eel sauce and sesame soy were available as well. They then had around fifteen other toppings, including extra protein, with additional charges attached, of which I only selected seaweed salad. Overall I was not particularly impressed with this bowl. The fish was not that great, the ratios of everything were off, and hot rice would stick to the sides of the cardboard bowl making it a challenge to eat. Quantity I felt like the bowl was a little small, especially in comparison to other poke places, but it was the tiny portion of fish that was my bigger issue. I ended up eating about half my bowl with no protein because the ratio was entirely off. A double portion is definitely a requirement. Value With the add on of seaweed salad, my bowl ended up costing $16. Considering the size of the bowl and the small amount of fish it came with, I found it too expensive. Ambiance Sunny Poke is located in the Sunset Harbour area of Miami Beach. This hip community continues to grow and add new restaurants at a rapid pace. Sunny Poke is part of the eastward expansion and is connected to its more formal sister restaurant Sushi Garage. Getting in the entrance is a bit strange as there is no direct stairway from the sidewalk to the front door. Instead you need to loop around the railings to get in. Outside they have a collection of tables for individuals who want to eat on-site. Inside the space is small, but has everything you could need. You walk to the end of the counter to start your order and make your way to the register at the end. A few stools also sit at a window bar inside if its too warm to enjoy your meal outdoors. The space itself was very modern and extremely clean. No music was playing during my visit, which was a little creepy. Crowd When I arrived there was only one person at the restaurant finishing a bowl outside. Two more people stopped in while I was eating, but it felt very dead on Sunday afternoon. Considering the swarms of people leaving yoga and fitness classes in the nearby area, I was surprised it was not a bigger draw for the health conscious crowd. Service They had three people working behind the counter on this slow Sunday afternoon, and they were a little too eager when I entered. Before I even had a chance to even take a look at the menu they were asking me what I wanted to eat. However, I was impressed by the cleanliness, both inside and out, which having extra help definitely made possible. Parking Since I was running a few other errands in the area, I ended up parking at the garage two blocks away. Street parking nearby is almost three times as expensive, so if you don't mind a short walk, the garage is your best bet. Extra I just was not very impressed with my meal at Sunny Poke. While I appreciated the expanded menu giving different and unique choices, I felt the prices were too high considering the small portions. I also think they need to ditch the cardboard bowls immediately. As a relatively new spot, there is still time to improve, but in an area nearly bursting with food options that time will be limited. read more

This joint just became one of my top 3 Poke spots. Just found it and didn't do what I usually do, bookmark and come back later, no I saw it and immediately went to try it. Newly opened, like a couple of months ago, is now my favorite in Miami Beach. I went for the spicy tuna bowl made with super fresh tuna, seaweed salad, Tempura crumb, avocado, spicy mayo, sesame seed, eel sauce and arugula. I must say they know how to make a really good poke bowl and that's because one of the main things to make it amazing is to keep it simple. Like the gentleman that took the order mentioned, nowadays they're getting too creative with this dish and that's the wrong way to go about it. What I love most about this one in particular the perfect balance in texture and flavor ...crunchy, moist, warm, cold, tangy, sweet and most importantly, fresh ingredients. I really enjoyed this Poke so much that I just had to write about it while seating there. I tried this jasmine green tea, unsweetened but very refreshing. Staff is very friendly and attentive from the moment you step in and the service is really fast. Updated review since my initial updated review. After some shake ups in operations, this place still stands as best in Miami. My only advice to management is adjust your salmon roe pricing or the portion size. $3 for a tiny scoop doesn't really make sense. Also note to management, although your workers are wearing gloves, they're still handling food and credit cards/cash with the same gloves. They should either discard the glove after making food or use new glove for each new order. During my recent visit, the girl making my bowl used her hands to scoop wasabi. Although she was wearing gloves, it was the same glove she wore but when handling and running the prior customers credit card. read more

Stopped by on 01/06/21 around 3:45 and gotta say food was tasty and the bowls are pretty large. Front desk lady very professional and friendly, but they need to fix the restroom and put up a sign saying that is out of service before pulling me out of the restroom when I was inside already, the manager or supervisor this 6'0 6'1 tall white guy around 40-45 yo and 205-215 lbs needs to change his entitled attitude. Excellent!!!! I love sushi garage already and now this new joint has the same quality but at a lunch price. They are super quick and friendly and it's pretty much grab and go which is perfect for the middle of the day. Tried Sunny Poke for the first time since it is right near our apartment. They messed up our order and added items we didn't want / forgot to include items we had asked for. The spicy tuna had very little tuna and was mainly fish roe and mayo. An avocado pit was left in one of the bowls, and when we asked for just ginger dressing, they still doused the bowls in mayo. Also, to add to the experience, the 15% off I was supposed to receive in the app for my first order didn't work and the people working weren't able to provide any refund or assistance at the time. Long story short it was a waste of $40. I am sure going in person would be better, but if not, I would avoid ordering online. read more

This poke is SO damn good. Very fresh, good sized bowl, and they even give you a little probiotic yogurt drink as a freebie. I've tried the classic tuna and spicy tuna and was thoroughly delighted by both. Only reason I'm docking 1 star is because it is pricey, but what can I say, I keep coming back and I'm addicted. I've been coming here for years and for me this is the best Poke bowl in Miami. The fish is fresh and it tastes really good! My only complaint is the constant turn over of employees. The guy that is currently making the bowls has an attitude and just plain doesn't want to be working. No matter how nice I try to be to him, he just seems miserable. Ordered from Uber eats and this is by far the best poke bowl I've had in Miami. I ordered the traditional tuna poke with extra scoop of salmon. Came out to $21. It seemed pricey but it was large enough for me and turned into my lunch and dinner. After my first bite I knew I would've ordering from here again. My boyfriend ordered the spicy tuna with extra scoop of salmon and he was a happy camper as well. If you want to try all the sauce like I did, I suggest you write in the notes to put the sauces separately that way you can flavor your bowl yourself. read more
