I'm not sure where to begin with this but here goes. In summary one of my best friends rented a house for him and his wife to go to for the weekend of valentines day, my girlfriend and I were invited to join. After we arrived he told me that he had arranged for flowers to be delivered on Valentines day for both his wife and my girlfriend. He said the website told him that if he ordered in the next few hours that his delivery was "guaranteed" to be on time. Well, as you can imagine we were expecting the delivery on Saturday 2/14 when he gets a notification that due to high volume of orders, his delivery will be delayed until 2/15. February 15th comes and still no delivery, it was not until later in the day he got a similar message about the delayed delivery. It wasn't until Monday (the day before we were leaving) at 4:00pm that the delivery came. But wait, there's more. The delivery was not even close to what he ordered. Both bouquets were wrong, there were no chocolates and no balloons. At this point I felt bad for him and so I called Sunny Flowers customer service on his behalf. I explained what happened, the representative tried to tell me that she could have them come back with chocolates but wasn't sure when they would be there. I simply explained that I would like to request a refund for the chocolates and that they be delivered, the agent then continued to offer to have the chocolates delivered, or to have the chocolates refunded along with 10.00 but not have them delivered. It was then that I indicated that I felt that the entire order should be refunded as it was not even the correct order. I then asked if I could speak to a manager, she told me I would receive a call back from a manager within 24-48 hours and as you can imagine I did not. A few things to say about this place. I ordered same day delivery flowers at 12:30 in the afternoon on a Monday and not only did they get there the same day, but four hours later before my girlfriend even got home from work. Lack of professionalism and communication. I would like to give it a 0 star if Yelp has the option. My fiancé ordered the "Deluxe Handtied Dozen Rose Bouquet" with red wrapping paper (based on the image), yet we received a total different color wrapping paper. The seller did not inform us about the change of color wrapping paper. Tried contacting the seller by WeChat and calling the store multiple times but the seller ignored us and we never heard back from them. This is a review for an online order! I placed a succulent planter order for a birthday delivery from Washington state so you can imagine the anxiousness that came with this order. I didn't even have half of the 25 roses they claim to have charged me for and it was not the budget that mattered... it was simply not what I ordered and more importantly they could not make things right on the day that matters to the one I love (Valentine's Day) when the purchase was made. They completely lost me as a customer, as I wrote a year ago "one and done" or "fool me once" so to speak... Make sure you get exactly what you ordered, they conveniently packaged it in a large amount of tissue paper, as to cover the "surprise" (not what was ordered) apparently. I used this florist for a wedding, they were very nice and responsive. I asked for a quote based on example photos, and paid the invoice, I don't feel that I got what I ordered. Usually my thought is that flowers will be beautiful no matter what, unless wilting. The bouquet was much more simple and plain!!! More roses than anything and we were not happy. We did not ask for a rose bouquet. I didn't negotiate the price or ask to simplify in any way! I don't know why they didn't offer a sample and why did not let me know that they couldn't come close to the example I provided! I was sent a sample of the centerpiece and I assumed the bouquet would be similar but it was not. It sad since it such an important day. Some flowers were partly wilting. read more

Disclaimer: This review is regarding Sunny Florists as a wedding vendor. (The store itself seemed nice and functional if you just needed to pick up some flowers.) In my entire wedding planning process, my interactions with Sunny Florists was undeniably the most frustrating experience of all. Needless to say, I did not choose them to be my wedding florist. While researching for a wedding florist, I contacted a dozen or so florists, sending them some details about the wedding, a handful of images on Pinterest of centerpieces and bouquets I was drawn to, and a list of flowers I liked. Everyone except for Sunny, was able to provide me with a rough quote via email. Sunny insisted that I come into the store, where I assumed she had books or hard copy portfolios of images she wanted me to flip through before giving me a quote. So even though my fiancé and I both did not have a lot of availability in our schedule, we carved out time with expectations of a productive meeting. When we sat down with her, she had no images for us to flip through, but rather a form for us to fill out, much of it being information I had provided her. The most absurd part was, she wanted me to detail exactly how many individual stems of each flower I would require. Clearly, I am not a florist, which is why I am seeking out a professional and I explained (first kindly and then a little more frustratedly when the conversation was not going anywhere) that I was hoping that she, as a professional florist, could take the inspiration images and list of preferred flowers I shared with her, and create a vision for me! But she did not see eye to eye with me on this and would not provide me any sort of quote until I filled out her form and returned for a second visit. At some point in our meeting with her, she completely stopped talking to me and would only address my fiancé--probably because she could see how frustrated I was, but it still felt incredibly rude. Luckily for me, in this past year of wedding planning, this was my only less-than-sunny experience with a vendor and it was fairly short-lived. read more

Took a succulent-making class here thanks to a Gilt City deal. Kaelyn (not sure if I spelled that correctly) was our teacher and I actually learned a lot! (To be honest, I do not have a green thumb) The class was made up of five of us, which I thought was a manageable number. We picked out our base/vase and then potted some soil before selecting three succulents to plant. All the materials you need are already set out so you can easily be done in an hour. She also provided us with small, sturdy bags that fit our creations perfectly! Kaelyn said they also offer terrarium and bouquet classes and I will definitely be back as it was a pleasant experience and fun to do with friends. Conveniently located across the street from the Broadway T Station. I normally am not a big flower person (they all kind of stink to me) but Sunny's had a lovely fresh - more "green" than floral - aroma which also makes for a nice experience while you're in there. read more
